Hi Chaavik, the banking system removes all banking data when the pc mod is moved out of the game. Rightly so, however, the monies stored in the accounts also disappear. Is it possible to have the money moved automatically into the household funds if the mod is removed? The reason I ask is that when checking mod conflicts/glitches etc, I sometimes move the whole download folder out to check the game in vanilla format. I did this the other day and lost all the savings in the game (whoops!). Please know that I am only asking you to consider a fix if it is quick and easy. Thank you!

Thanks Squinge I followed instructions and simply put it in my Downloads' Squinge subfolder. I am pleased to say that a sim rolled the Lifetime Want to 'Become Cult Leader' for the Paranormal Career today. But is there a mod available (that is compatible with Seasons) that will enable Sims who haven't been to college to find the Artist, Natural Scientist, Paranormal and Showbusiness careers in the newspaper or computer?
Monique's Hacked Computer (non-global) at MTS2 gives non-University sims access to all Maxis, University and Custom careers. The University careers do not have teen careers, so your sim won't see them on Monique's Hacked Computer until they become an adult.

Simmers' Paradise / Tutorials / A Work-around to Sim-created Paintings Reverting To Sunset Design problem
|
on: August 01, 2006, 12:08:14 pm

Vampyre, I contacted EA support about this problem. Some, but not all of my custom paintings were becoming sunsets. In one home, 2 out of 3 had changed. I couldn't figure out why some pictures held their image while others didn't. At first I thought that it was because the sims had moved houses, - but that wasn't consistent- other households that had moved homes with pictures held in their inventories still had the correct pictures. I only had the sims in one neighbourhood, and the pictures had never been put up for sale. However, when I discovered that I had two portraits side by side, one portrait in tact and the other a sunset, in the same house, I contacted EA for help. EA's standard reply to my query ("Do you have custom content?") helped me make the connection. I pinned it down to having used Eddief66's Turboeasel to make the pictures. Using the mod made the game too easy so I took it out; it took a while for me to realise that removing the mod had caused the pictures to revert to sunsets. Please note even though Eddie's Turbo Easel is no longer available at MTS2, I am not blaming the mod in any way, the portraits had been intact while the mod was in my Downloads folder; the sunsets only emerged after removing the mod. I do think you are right about picture and painting data getting lost along the way, especially between different areas within the same neighbourhood (Residential, Commercial, Downtown and Uni). Thanks for the tip on how to work around this issue.

Ste - did you check on the neighbourhood lot info screen? That's where mine are missing. They are all present and correct when I go into the lot. It could be that they were missing even before I installed this mod, but I only noticed it after installing because I was checking on aspirations.
I'm going to put back the old files and reload the game, just to see if they are there. Then I'll redownload the mod files from here this time (I used those at MTS2) and see if it makes any difference.
Edit: Oh dear...no icons on the original program files either! It is the BFVOS after all! Time to detox my pc with the equivalent of a colonic irrigation - yep... a manual uninstall!
Update: Ew... I did reinstall and I discovered that the Pleasure Sim icon only appears in the Maxis base neighbourhoods - not my custom neighbourhood. It's not related to the Downloads folder - I removed it completely in both cases. Is it just my game that's doing this?

Squinge, after I installed this, the icon for the Pleasure sim which normally appears when you click on the family info, disappeared from the neighbourhood screen. The Pleasure icon is there for the Pleasure sim when you load the lot and look at the panel that lists wants, fears, moods etc. I did follow the install info carefully. Have you noticed this in your game?

Simsi2, I've been using this wedding arch with the Inteen for a while now. I've found that Young Adults can't marry using this arch at community lots, but that's not surprising because I have never been able to wed YAs with the wedding arch at their dorm or residential lot either. I've always married them using the propose marriage dialogue - no arch. Jase wrote about it in the old Inteen RTFM. If your sims are not YAs and they still can't marry using the arch then there must be a modding conflict or a community wedding arch file missing. Prior to using Squinge's arch, I used Eddief66's formal wedding arch http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=131200 and that worked fine on community lots too - with the exception of YAs. If all else fails on your community lot, delete your old wedding arch and put in a new one from the community lot catalogue. I also hate to state the obvious, but ensure that your sims are engaged and that they are both on the lot before you try to click on the arch.
