1  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Too Many Boy Babies... on: July 19, 2007, 08:08:09 am

The easiest way around that is to save your lot just before the sim gives birth and reload it until you get the gender you want.

I sometimes even decide the skin colour that way, in case of the parents are of two different races. When the (dark skin) father died, I rather see at least one baby with the father's skin.  I might take 10 or 20 tries, but it works.
The baby's gender and colour is randomly detemined at the end of the birth cinematic.

Ps. My neighbourhood is 95% girls, included NPCs. I don't notice and diference when babies are born.
2  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / New User - Please Please Please Help on: July 19, 2007, 07:15:39 am
Sims 2 works very well without that file. Have you tried to shut down your computer, when the error message comes, and see if it works on restart

I don't have season's yet so you may be right. I just ordered it so I will see if it will work with mine. I will PM you or post here again to let you know how it turns out. Thanks for letting me know and I'm sorry about that.

Don't worry about it. It is still a great piece of art, and we are lucky you want to share it with us

I ran the file twice. It doesn't show up. I don't think it works with seasons.
5  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / I need a little technical help. on: July 08, 2007, 11:30:44 am

More technical information? Tell me what you might need and I'll try to find it for you.

It's not for me. I am not technical at all, but the size of your monitor should not really matter. It's more the kind of graphic driver, computer and graphic card people need. Maybe someone can help you.
6  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / How do i delete the seasons folder? Not what you think im asking. on: July 07, 2007, 05:22:12 am
Computers can be so stupid sometimes Smiley

you might need to give more technical imformation. I don't think Sims 2 is 100% compatible with all graphic cards.
Maybe you should try playing it in a window, not entirely full screen.
8  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Has anyone had problems starting the game after the second seasons patch. on: July 07, 2007, 05:12:53 am
My game is doing fine without it. What exactly does it do?
9  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / No alien pregnation on: July 05, 2007, 07:08:42 am
Yes, in a normal game only men get pregnant by alien abduction.

Try this one: http://www.insimenator.org/showthread.php?t=46391
10  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Has anyone had problems starting the game after the second seasons patch. on: July 05, 2007, 06:58:37 am
yes, I had that too. After installing the patch, it just didn't read the disk anymore. I gave up an and are now playing a patchfree game.
Patches, downloads and upgrades are dangerous for big neighbourhoods. On top of that I lost all my saved games as well, making me start from scratch for the millionth time. The bugs are really minor. My sims do fine as they are now.
I know I am hooked, but at a certain moment a person just has to stop improving the game.
11  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / recurring error messages on: June 28, 2007, 02:43:00 pm
To me it looks like you have "boolprop testingcheatsenabled true" enabled, or some program that does that for you.
Try going into a test lot and type "boolprop testingcheatsenabled false" in the cheat window. Than try playtesting that lot for a while, see if  the problem stops. If it stops, you should be able to play the other lots from than on. The boolprop testingcheatsenabled should never be enabled all the time. It conflicts with actual gameplay.
12  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Why r Sims so stupid ? on: June 28, 2007, 01:23:17 pm

its just a game...i think ur lookin too much into it..if it wasnt so bizarre it wouldnt be any fun
people do things that are waaaaaaay dumber in real life
this thread for example:coffee:

I take my sims very serious. Sometimes I get so angry because of their stupidity, that I run away from the game.

How many times doesn't it happen that just before the bus comes to get the kid to school, it throws a new quarter in the arcade. I can live with that, because they are kids right?

What I really really really hate is when a neighbour comes to vist but refused to accept to be welcomed, because there suddenly is some fluff on her shoulder. On top of that the greeting sim completely forgets why she is out in the freezing cold and just stand staring into a blank.

You just can't order a sim and go to an other part of the house. They will use the slightest excuse to completely forget what they were supposed to do.
