1  Simmers' Paradise / Sims / Seems like there are Sims for every famous person, so where is.... BROOOOCE??? on: July 31, 2009, 08:28:42 pm
Sure would love to find a Sim or twelve of my own personal deity.

I think most people know what he looks like (lol) but here are some favorite pictures of mine of Bruces I would love to have ingame. That's not to say I wouldn't love to have a current Bruce (but without that awful goatee) or a 'Born in the USA' model. Just... I'd love to have these guys...

early-mid 1970s look:

late 70s look:

and a profile. Without that JAW, it ain't Bruce! I know it's not the cleanest of shots, but hell we're not Mme Tussaud's here...

Well, like mom always says, it doesn't hurt to ask... thanks in advance and happy Simming!

I gotta get a PC...

The default adult woman in CAS. That goofy smile really annoys me.
3  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Re: Things you've only recently discovered about the game on: July 22, 2009, 07:43:20 pm
I discovered yesterday that you can use the small steps to make a standard size staircase  Was changing around a house I'd dl'd and couldn't get the staircase out of it. Finally remembered the sledgehammer and I think it changed the section/picture in the build window (like the eyedropper does.)

"OMG - they STRETCH???!!!!??!!!

So that was nice. Cheesy
4  Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / Re: Need a plain old button-down denim 'work shirt' (untucked!)(Adult Male) on: July 22, 2009, 04:26:55 pm
Thanks - still going to keep looking but as usual found a bunch of other stuff to cram into my downloads (including a ton of fifties suits from Fanseelamb, something I'd actually been searching for earlier today!) And I did grab those button down 'un' BrooksBros as well - can always use a nice shirt Smiley

I think a denim jacket will suffice for now. Too bad Sims clothes don't work like RL clothes - there are some perfect shirts over at All About Style, but they're under overalls and jackets and such.

Sleeves down, sleeves rolled up, I'll take anything anyone's found. Similar to the Maxis 'country music singer' type of button down shirts, only plain faded blue denim and untucked. Made famous by Martha Stewart and something you'd find Harrison Ford in workin' on his fences.

Can't make my Beatles circa Abbey Road without it;)

Thanks!
6  Simmers' Paradise / Mac-Users Only Peer Support / Re: Is Seasons as difficult to get running as Pets is? on: July 22, 2009, 02:02:06 pm
So happy I can answer this now....

NO!

Got my copy of Seasons, re-installed everything from start to finish (and patched) and I am in a MUCH better head now. I have faith in the future and that when I quit out of the game everything will be where it was the last time I visited.

If any new Mac people click on this thread in the same frustrated mindset as I had been for the last few weeks, here's a tip: If you've gotten Pets but haven't gotten Seasons, don't even play until you do. You'll have a much smoother time of things, (esp. if you're addicted to custom content.) Also, the whole weather thing is REALLY sweet. Thunderstorms!!
7  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Re: Sookie Stackhouse & Bill Compton from "True Blood" on: July 10, 2009, 05:00:44 pm
Ah, okay, apologies - I hadn't realized they were alterations of original content; it seems like something that's so inappropriate that I hadn't even considered that that's what you were all discussing here. Please allow me to remove my cyberfeet from my cybermouth.

I do dig your Vampire-y ones, btw.

The noses, makeup, and Sookie's hair look different to me. These look more realistic to me, no offense to the creator of the first set. Are they really identical in-game? If so, then the photos are very misleading.

Just my nearly worthless .02
9  Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / Re: Unconventional pet skin colors? on: July 05, 2009, 03:37:14 pm
Never mind - I'm tossing this EP in the trash. It's been nothing but hope and heartache.
10  Simmers' Paradise / Mac-Users Only Peer Support / Is Seasons as difficult to get running as Pets is? on: July 05, 2009, 03:34:23 pm
I've spent the better part of a week trying to get Pets to run right. Have reinstalled everything at least half a dozen times, have Combo Patched, have gone through each and every one of my downloads, and time after time it's problem -> solved -> new problem.

It's not worth it to me just to have critters running around, so I'm going to reinstall everything to what I had before this evil that is 'Pets,' but I'm wondering if from now on it's going to be the same way if I move on to further expansion packs. I want to play, not fix. Just wish I could take advantage of more of the beautiful CC out there.
11  Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / Unconventional pet skin colors? on: July 05, 2009, 10:17:06 am
Yes, I'd like a purple cat. Or a blue dog. Or a leopard-spotted... something. I don't know.... are there any particular sites that have more pets-related dl's than others? In my browsing I tend to ignore that which I don't yet have the EP for

Just got Pets to actually work without crashing and I'd rather play than go through all my S2 bookmarks today.

Thanks!

These are GREAT! It's always great when people do 'famous' Sims and they actually look like who they're supposed to - and these do!

Please, please put them up!

I hope, too, that you're considering doing some more from the cast. That'd be fantastic.
13  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Re: You have been playing the Sims 2 for too long... on: July 03, 2009, 05:35:51 pm
Same as when I was playing Sims1 - everywhere I look in real life, I want to click on things I want to download or rearrange how things are set up, and get frustrated for a split second that I can't Wink

That and winding up spending an entire 'session' just looking at one website after another, "shopping," and winding up with no time to actually PLAY!
14  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Re: What do you find irritating in the sims? on: July 03, 2009, 05:29:37 pm
What really gets me at times, is how sims always have to turn the radio on, in any room, at any time, and sometimes in several rooms at once.

I was playing a few minutes ago, my adult sim walked into the room where all 3 of her kids were sleeping, at 3am, and turned the radio on!!! Woke them all up, stupid...

I had to unclick that freakin' Salsa music in my options section. Drove me up a wall.
15  A Safe Haven / General Discussion / Re: What's the last movie you watched? on: June 30, 2009, 07:30:10 pm
Grey Gardens (the original documentary.) Saw the HBO treatment a few weeks ago and realized I'd never seen the original. Just fantastic. If the Edies were around now they'd have a long-running 'reality' tv show, they were such interesting characters.

I'd like to build that house (the renovated version, although the famously run-down one would be quite interesting. I think it would crash my game, though - too much garbage, raccoons, food, overgrown wildlife, etc.)
