1  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Re: What is the most surprising thing that your Sims have ever done? on: July 20, 2010, 04:29:52 pm
I was just playing the Pleasants, and when Angela was coming downstairs for dinner she slid down the railing rather than walking. I have never seen that before.  huh

I was also surprised the first time I saw someone playing with the fridge door. Some teen one of the kids brought home from school just walked straight to the fridge and started hanging on the door. Gave me a laugh. And then I kicked her out.

When you wake up in the morning and start planning who in the large family of 8 should go to the bathrooms first, and which adult/teen should make breakfast for the kids before school. And you live alone and have no kids.

When you get a job and wonder how many friends you have to make before you can get promoted.

When you're off to work/school in the morning and you keep waiting for the carpool and/or schoolbus to show up automatically, even if school/workplace is right down the road.
3  Welcome to insimenator.org / The Welcome Wagon / Hello everyone on: July 17, 2010, 11:01:20 am
I have a tendency to be a lurker in sims communities/forums/sites, but I thought I should say hi for once.

I've been playing Sims since the original, and still have the complete collection for that game even if I haven't played it in a long time. I switched to Sims2 rather late (even though I actually got the game shortly after it came out), as I have this thing about not liking change and being overly loyal. Which is why it will still take me some time to switch to Sims3 (if ever). For now I feel I still have a lot yet to do with Sims2, so I see no reason to switch either.
I love custom content, but have failed to ever make any myself, of any kind. I even suck at building lots and making sims, so I'm not much of a contributor. I'm also too lazy to post stories, even if I do take a large amount of in-game pictures and add commentary that no one else will read. I do on occasion post comments to praise and encourage though, so that's something. XD
4  Simmers' Paradise / Lots & Neighborhoods / A request for a Norwegian neighbourhood on: July 17, 2010, 10:51:23 am
I've been thinking of making a Norwegian/Scandinavian-type neighbourhood for my Sims2, and wanted a neighbourhood map that resembles my city, Bergen. Is there anyone who would be willing to make it for me? I just need the map terrain, I'll find/make lots myself later on.

Map of Bergen: http://img686.imageshack.us/img686/659/bergenkart.jpg

Basically, water and mountains are very necessary. It would be great if all edges of the map could be one or the other as Bergen really is surrounded by mountains and the ocean.

I have another map that I drew some bad paint-"circles" on to show where I want specific things:
http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/1554/bergenterrain.jpg

The red area is the important area, I don't really need anything outside of that. Would have been better if I had found the other map (above) first to do this on, as this one cuts off the "arm" on the lower left. I want that to look like it does on the other map, just to clarify that.

The brown areas is where I would like there to be beach lots. Those aren't completely necessary though.

The green areas are where I want there to be living areas, with lots of houses grouped together, often very small houses so it would be great to have some small spaces between roads. I'm thinking areas that would work well with for example plasticbox's Backdoor Lane series over at ModTheSims2 (there are a few houses there that I plan to edit a bit and use for this project). But also one or two spaces for small schools.

The three blue areas are where I want there to be rather large lot spaces, for parks (bottom two) and a football stadium (top). The water area in the middle of the map I will make as part of a park, so don't make the water there.

The purple area I want the edge to be straight down into the water, not gradually going downwards. Also, to have space between the water and the road for 1x1 lots to be placed there.

As for roads, I already mentioned that for the green areas. Outside of that I know it would be too much to add every road on the map, but if possible then the yellow roads to some degree, and a few more?
It also would be good to have different heights to put lots on as well. The city is built in a way that mainly the city centre is ocean-height and you have to go up to get anywhere else (gives you strong legs though).

It doesn't need to be exact of course, and if any of my specifics are too difficult then that's fine to. I have no intention of building every area of the city like reality, I just want something that resembles Bergen.

I would be extremely grateful if anyone would do this. Thanks in advance.
