I use 3ds Max too, especially to build my models because Milkshape just doesn't have the modelling capabilities that 3ds has.

However, Milkshape is good for assigning vertices to the proper joints. It only costs like $25 US. If you live in Canada, UK, or Europe it will be considerably cheaper because the US dollar is very weak at present.

20  Simmers' Paradise / Content Creation & Recoloring Help / i do not know if anyone can help me on: November 05, 2007, 06:36:53 am
Yes you can change the pants without touching the shirt. You will need a paint program such as GIMP (free) and Photoshop ($$$).

To resize clothing for other ages, this will be harder. You could find two meshes (e.g. a teen outfit, and a child's outfit that BOTH have the same shape (use similar meshes in game). Then you'd just copy and paste one over the other.

If you actually plan on working with the meshes themselves, then you are in for some major frustration and headaches, even if you have meshing experience because the child and teen skeletons are different, thus their respective body meshes will be rigged differently too.

Upon loading your game, did you receive a dialogue asking if you wanted to "enable custom content"? Whenever I install a new EP, I get that dialogue. If you didn't get the dialogue, go into your game settings (either from the N'hood or from a lot) and make sure that the "enable custom content" is selected.

I've had Bon Voyage since it first came out and I still haven't seen the witch doctor, old wiseman, or Bigfoot. However, I haven't really looked for them either. Cheesy
25  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Lost all my CC Objects + Modeling Hacks on: November 02, 2007, 06:03:07 am
Hmmm, that really sucks to have lost all those downloads. I know searching for them again is next to impossible, especially for lazy guys like me Cheesy

Here's some advice though, whenever installing a new EP. ALWAYS remove the contents from your downloads folder and store them somewhere where they will be safe, either on your hard drive or on a CD. Then, after installing and testing how the new EP works, only then would I begin replacing the downloads.

Also, many (if not most or all) hacks created prior to BV are incompatible with this new EP. You mentioned losing the Insimenator. Some good news for you. The Insimenator has been updated for Bon Voyage and is available on this site. It works with any or all EPs.
26  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Packaging in-game sims now that we can't use simpe? on: November 02, 2007, 12:38:49 am
You can try the QA version of SimPE. Just go get it at simPE's official site.

Note, in order to access the QA (quality assurance) version of SimPE, you must submit a request to gain QA access. You will also need to be registered on the forums at SimPE's official site. It usually takes about 24 hours for approval after requesting to join QA. Also, the QA version is in testing so it may or may not work well in your PC. It also wouldn't hurt to read what others have written in the QA forum about the latest QA release.

Yeah I noticed that since installing BV, bodyshop still has no options for adding jewelry to Sims.
