Simmers' Paradise / Apartment Life Help / Re: Stupid Freezing...AGAIN!

Nope, this is the only comp that I have. But tomorrow I am taking it into the town's computer guys. He's really reasonable with charging for his services, so I hope that will work. I checked out a new vid card, so if it is messed up, I know which to get. It's like $100 though
EDIT:
I was looking through some more diagnostic stuff, and it told me to take every single custom made thing out and then try the game again. I did it before with my downloads, but this time, I did it and everything worked fine. So it can't be my video card...at least that can't be the only problem. I still have something that is conflicting. I thought I was over this. Oh well, I just saved $100 on a new card. Thanks everyone that helped me.

Okay, as far as I can guess, I think either my video card is bad, or there is something wrong with the motherboard itself. I'm leaning toward the first one. I'm going to take it in for a second opinion before I buy a new card though.

How do I go about checking/updating these things (the graphics drivers, directx, memory controller)? I'm sorry, I'm really dumb when it comes to the inside of computers. Do I take the whole thing in and have it checked out by someone that knows what they're doing or is it something I can do on my own.
I'm sure it has to be something wrong with the actual computer itself, because even if all of my downloads are out of the folder, it still does the same thing.

Simmers' Paradise / Apartment Life Help / Stupid Freezing...AGAIN!

I thought I was over this! I got mygame as updated as I could. Nothing seems to be conflicting, to the best of my knowledge, but my game still freezes. I load it up, and it will get all the way to the neighborhood before one of three things happen:
1. The game will just freeze, even if I don't touch the mouse, and I will have to turn off the whole computer for it to close down the game (ctrl-alt-delete doesn't work here). 2. A pop-up will say that there is an error and the program must terminate. Then I can usually ctrl-alt-delete and the program will shut down. 3. It says that Direct3D had an error and the system is aborting the program. Sometimes that works and it will all shut off fine, and other times it freezes and I have to turn the whole thing off.
I haven't downloaded any hacks or mods since I last fixed it, so I have no idea what could be wrong. Has anyone else had this happen?

Simmers' Paradise / Sims 2 Pictures / Before and After Makeovers!

I found one makeover picture thread, but it was for townies, so I decided to make this one for sims we have made and then made over. Here's mine:
This is Jessica. She is 14, from London, England. She now lives in Alabama in the US. Her older sister is is cosmotology school and offered to give her a make-over just in time to start her first year of high school, and this is how it came out.
Close-up of her face profile
Outfit change.
This was done without any actual changing of facial features. The sim only has changes in hair, brows, makeup, accessories and clothing.
P.S. Sorry about the photo size. Click on the small pictures to see a larger version. I have no idea how to change the size, but as soon as I can figure it out, I will.
Everyone, feel free to post your photos if you have any.

Simmers' Paradise / Lots & Neighborhoods / The Family Guy House, Anyone?
|
on: November 04, 2008, 08:17:01 pm
|
Hi, Can anyone make me the house from the TV show Family Guy? It would be best if you have watched a lot of the episodes so that you have a general idea of what the house looks like inside, since I can't find any of my own. Here's the outside.

As far as I can tell from watching the show, the house has 5 bedrooms, and at least 2 bathrooms (one of which is attached to the master bedroom), a garage on the right side, a lounge room on the left side, and a basement that can be accessed from a door in the kitchen. I'm not picky really. It doesn't have to be exact. Even close is fine.
Thanks to anyone who is interested in doing it.

Simmers' Paradise / Apartment Life Help / Freezing All the Time!
|
on: October 25, 2008, 07:43:49 pm
|
I am so irritated with my game. Ever since I got AL, my game freezes all the time. I start it up and go to a family, and I am never able to play it for more than one [sim] day. I'll be doing my thing, and the game will just freeze up out of nowhere. I end up having to shut the whole thing down.
I have the CleanPackage Installer, and the SeeThem. I don't know what could be freezing my game. The SeeThem will tell me that I have a: "Phone-Line Controller #----" or an error with the sim itself. I don't know what that means at all.
Can someone help me? I'm worried that the more I play my game and the more it freezes, someday the whole game is going to permanently crash. I need to somehow fix this.

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Error is killing me

I had the same thing too, but mine happens in 3 ways. -It either says that there is a problem with the "Phone-Line #----" or -It says theres an error with the Tampon Controller. -or when I am trying to pose my sims the sim itself gets an error and needs to be reset.
What could that be caused by?
