At the neighborhood view do you see that the family is still using the resort lot? If you try to enter the home lot does the game say that the family is on vacation?

I had this problem once with BV (pre-FT). Do you have FT installed? If not you can use the InSIM to delete the family at the resort. I am not 100% sure how I did this but it semed to work. After deleting them I restored them and called to end the vacation. I know something happened because after that they were no longer at the vacation lot on the neighborhood screen and were "sent" home the next time I was able to play their home lot.

I am so not a techie so I am stabbing in the dark here.

Since the home lot is supposedly unplayable you might bite the bullet and try to bulldoze that lot to see if the family is reunited. Don't trust my opinion as I am turly not sure what to do.

Tomkat, wow! I agree, for some odd reason the game is taking much longer to load. I have played three individual houses post patch D/L so I have gone back to see if saving was flummoxed. I did have one major game crash that was frightening. The game froze and I heard wierd "banging" noises in the background. I finally had to force close the game and it wasn't easy. When I went back to that lot it opened where it had been last manually saved (I still use Monique's "Save Game" reminder mod).

I haven't (yet) noticed a problem with aging. When I had the atomic crash I was having a birthday party for two kids. The game crashed while the party was in progress. The next time I just used the cake and skipped a party and all went well.

I have had a problem since BV where the lot freezes momentarily whenever I have a Sim use a car, leaving for school or work and also when coming home. Now the lot freezes for a minute or more whenever a car is used (actually, this problem may have become more pronounced after adding the original installation of FT; I am not sure).

It's sad but I think this thread should be closed to any additional misleading posts. While Medota's finds may seem valid, unless he/she has gone into the very DNA of the game there is no way to verify that subtle and harmful changes have not occured.

Like Mendota, I still have the InSIM Sim edition in my game but I am depending on it less and less as other Modders are working to mirror if not replace its functions safely with FT. In fact, I have avoided gameplay since finding out that the FT patch is poison. I would rather wait until Maxis fixes what they thought they fixed (hopefully, soon).

As a service to all innocent InSIM loving Simmers out there I don't think anyone else should post his or her success with the current BV InSIM with FT as any claim to its working has been thoroughly dismissed by the many who are in the "know."

The patch reset my Sims and CC but that was okay (seemingly). The weirdest effect was a car that simply disappeared (and replaced) from a previous gameplay reappeared on the lot.

I am now sitting with this evil patch in game. I am too exhausted to re-install. Hurry up Maxis Morons! Fix what you fixed/broke/fixed/broke/fixed/broke...YIKES!

Well, Kathy, while I have never attempted to call myself a know it all, I can safely say, as the author of this exhausting thread, I do know something.

My impatience with your original post stems from the frustration at seeing people ask what may easily be categorized as rhetorical (and unnecessary) questions. If you had searched for the answer to your question you would have definitely found your answer. Next time try searching a bit more diligently.

Oh, freak, mumble, mumble! I added the damn patch as well and now am kicking myself hard (Well, I am rather enjoying giving myself kicks).

Just like Maxis! Release the patch on other Sites and then add it later to its own only to find out from the innocent mob that there are still problems with it! My mother taught me that hate was too strong an emotion but since she allows me to dislike intensely I can add that I dislike EAxis ever so intensely!

There are many alternatives to the InSIM available. I would suggest your using these certified compatible mods with FT until (and if or when [fingers crossed]) the InSIm is updated to FT compatibility. Try using our EP Hack thread to locate compatible FT mods:

Kathy, it's so good to see that you are as concerned about the InSIM and it's future that you would rather ask then search for an answer. This question has been posted and answered all over this board. In fact, the preceding posts in this long thread, not to mention the didicated thread in this forum's InSIM section, may have saved you the embarrassment of asking.

The answer to this question is the same given to those who have posted ad nausea before you: your guess is a good as ours.

I just did a quick study at TJ's Site. I am so on a hunt to add InSim related functions that I SIMply can not live without. SW has a budget adjuster that will automatically pay bills. Yea! There are other mods available but I am still researching.

Wanda is correct. For some odd reason certain custom beds inhibit the woo hoo option. I know that Jase had to include updates so the the Teen Add On PAck beds would fuction properly. If older CC beds don't work now they too may have to be updated becuase of some background change with FT.

One other thought on the no woo hoo or try for a baby options: the two Simmies making whoppee must have (a memory) of their "first kiss" (not necessarily with eachother). They must also have high friendship points. If it's a regular bed they should be "in love." LizzLove's Swinger Bed (updated by Jase) does not need attraction, first kiss or being in love...it just needs two Simmies who have a need to go at "it."

This is the wrong place to say this but say it I must! Although FT added a few nice interactive objects I don't think any of them "improved" Sim life or game play. Just the idea that we are between a Sim and a hard place with the current BV InSIM is enough for me to rue the day I took the plunge.

I guess I can understand our modders slowly ebbing away from helping to improve our game play. We have lost Christianlov, Squinge and very soon Jase will join them. It is still not clear whether our beloved Kathy and Eric will be able to muster any interest in FT (and understandably so).

Thank goodness we still have Pescado, Carrigon, Inge Jones, Rick Halle and TwoJeffs (just to mention a few that I worship). How long will they keep their interest going in the game?

I am now drawing a mental circle and slashing it! Just say NO to any new EP!!!!!! That's my motto. Now back to matters regarding EPs and hack!
