These recolors were done for the Natural Redhead Project to make more hairstyles available in the beautiful natural shades of red hair.  It may seem odd to put shades that range from rusty blonde to brown red in the red bin but the goal is to make the full spectrum of red shades available to genetic redheads.

Note: the auburn shade runs a much "hotter" than my other recolors. It is my attempt to capture the magical moment when average brown hair suddenly explodes into red highlights. This photo of Frish  from the Natural Redhead Project says it all. I am not sure if I am there yet but I will probably keep on trying.

Pale blond and black recolors plus three shades re binned. This unique short hair mesh came with an unusual set of colors. Pale blond and black shades were not included so I made two recolors in those shades.

Reloading or Re binning: Some of the colors in this set were also binned in unexpected locations. Peggy Zone (formerly Peggy Sims 2) included a beautiful dark brown with the mesh but it was put in the black bin. There was also a wonderful copper red shade that ended up in the brown bin and a Peggy's lovely golden red that was binned blond. I moved the dark brown to the brown bin and the red gold and red brown to the red bin. These re-bins won't replace the original Peggy Sims 2 dark brown, red brown or gold IF YOU ALREADY HAVE THEM. If you downloaded Peggy Sims original dark brown and my dark brown, you will have a copy of that shade in the black bin AND the brown bin so you will probably want to delete one of them.


I did not add natural elder shades. Onah at MTS2 also recolored this set in several different colors and added natural elder shades.

Thirteen recolors in four red shades of Peggy Zone (formerly Peggy Sims2 ) DONATION Short Hair Bob with or without the ornamental band or ribbon. The ribbon/band on this mesh is great for recoloring, retexturing and alpha editing! I added some different patterns on the band and also made an alpha edit of a filigree-like head band. The hair textures are Peggy Sims 2 original textures.

Free Male Ponytail. The style comes in toddler through elder ages and the elder color is the same as the other ages. As I worked with this mesh, I began to realize the potential it had for different looks. I decided to do a retexture of the hair pulled back on the head to give it more detail and depth of color. I modified a texture from
Alkaloid aand XPTL297 to fit this mesh. The bangs and ponytail are Peggy's original textures. Thanks to Peggy Zone for sharing this great mesh with us.

I am a big fan of mid-Twentieth Century design so I have been trying to extract some of the funky objects in Pets like the Atomic wall clock, rug, electronics and furniture. This is just for my personal use. I have Pets installed on an old computer with just TS2 so I have been getting the objects from there with SimPe and giving them my own unique guids.  I don't think the old computer could handle another expansion pack as it barely crawls with Pets. :sad4:

My extracted objects show up as custom content in the Buy mode catalog in "Pets" and "Sim Stories: Pets" and they seem to work. The problem is they don't show up in Buy mode for my other installation of the game with all the EPs except for Pets.

I have just done template recolors of objects prior to this so I am wondering if I am missing something. It is nice that the objects work in "Sim Stories: Pets" but I'd love to get them into my other installation of the game. If anyone has any suggestions, I will be willing to give them a try.

Five red shades of XM Sim's fabulous long bouffant hair mesh 39 for all ages. Thanks to Flora and XM Sims for allowing us to recolor their meshes. I just had to make some red shades of it after I saw Kyriaw's glorious alpha edit of this hair style. Thank you, Kryiaw for such a great alpha edit!  Of course, I can't leave well enough alone,  I shortened the ribbon tail that draps over the shoulder as much as possible while leaving intact the ribbon that runs across the top of the head.

An alpha edit in nine colors to add wispy bangs to the long ponytail mesh by Rose Sims2. The wispy bangs replace the long strands of hair that originally framed the face. I have edited Rose's original five colors and four of my recolors. Thank you, Rose, for allowing me to recolor and modify your textures.

Rose's Original Colors: The file MTS2_RoseSims2FreeHair0034_KaneoFringeORIGINAL_SET contains Rose's original colors with the wispy bangs alpha edit. The five colors, black, rose brown, blonde, platinum and a delicate wine red are color binned. The ponytail comes in child through elder. Rose's original colors don't have a toddler version and the elder versions use the non-elder shades. This is the only download with the black and blonde shades.

Recolors: There are also four recolors with the wispy bangs edit: a dark chestnut brown recolor and three red recolors in dark auburn, copper and ginger which are also color binned. The complete recolor set is in MTS2_RoseSims2FreeHair0034_KaneoFringeRECOLORS_ALL. The four recolors are also available as individual downloads. The recolored elder hair comes in two shades: the brown and auburn have a silver brown while the ginger and copper shades come with a silver beige. Last but not least, the textures used for the recolors ponytail elastic are from the amazing Elements Library created by SimSpore, a free resource available to all Simmers.

Don't normally do requests but Kratos387 at MTS2 nominated a mesh so I took a look at it and found that the "parts" were on hand. The first two recolors are of a mesh by Anya at simscorner who also posted it at her website simscorner. There are two versions: one has the bangs on the forehead and one without. The textures came from the male pony tail by Alkaloid and XPTL297 Maxis recolors. I redid the lower half of the back of the head since the pony tail is higher on Anya's mesh. Anya's mesh is here at MTS2.

I also realized that an alpha edit of my Rose Free Hair 0034  recolor would get a similar effect. The mesh is available from Rose Sims2 in Download > Hair on page 12. I uploaded some more colors with the wispy bang edit.

All three of these recolors have been binned Red. The simcorner mesh is for all ages: toddler through elder and the mesh seems to work best with the younger ages. The Rose Sims2 mesh is child through elder. The elder shade is gray for all three uploads.

Four clear glass block recolors of Numenor's WallWindows at MTS2. Thank you to Lollipop69 who let me use the textures from her Clear Glass Block Wallpaper for this project. If you enjoy the glass blocks, Lollipop69 has many more glass block wallpapers, floor and wall tiles, and transparent decking.

For those not familiar with Numenor's WallWindows , they can be a little imposing but fear not, they are really easy to use! The WallWindows do many fabulous things and they are well worth the effort to get to know them. Download the basic set, WallWindow_Seamless_BASIC_set_UPD-15jan06.zip which is required for all variations of all wall windows. The curved set, WallWindow_Seamless_CURVED_set.zip is my favorite form of wall window because you can create curved walls with it. These sets are a good place to start and they contain both meshes and recolors. Unzip them and put them in your downloads folder along with the glass block recolors.

The WallWindows appear in the Game as Build Mode custom content in the door, window and arch sections. If you download the other types, they will appear in the usual section for that type of structure. Create a bare wall then add the WallWindow window or door to the wall; they behave like windows and doors, not walls. All WallWindow recolors should work with all forms of WallWindow. The documentation at MTS2 has further illustrations of how to use WallWindows.

My glass block recolors come with variations in the number of block columns per wall panel. The Single Seam has one vertical seam and two half block columns per panel. The Two Seam (symmetric)  has two and 1/2 block columns per panel of equal width while the Asymmetric Two Seam has two and 1/2 block columns of different width. The Three Seam set has three and 1/2 block columns per panel of equal width. The recolors can be mixed to give you different patterns of blocks. The inside and outside of the recolors are mirror images; they can be reversed which further increases the number of pattern possibilities.

These recolors may be used in lots posted to any free site EXCEPT for the EXCHANGE. Do not include Numenor's WallWindow meshes in ANY upload. Please link back to MTS2 so downloaders can locate the Wall Window meshes. Credit Numenor and myself for the WallWindow Glass Block recolors. These are Numenor's stipulations, please follow them.

These recolors were done for the Natural Redhead Project to make more hairstyles available in the many beautiful naturally occurring shades of red hair.  The red recolors are available in four shades: auburn, copper, ginger and strawberry blonde. There is also a rich shade of mid-brown and an ice white.  The recolors are color binned red except for brown (binned brown) and white (custom). It may seem odd to put shades that range from rusty blonde to brown red in the red bin but the goal is to make the full spectrum of red shades available to genetic redheads.
 
The style comes in toddler through elder. The toddler hair is the longish, straight Maxis hair with bangs. I recolored the toddler hair to match the other ages' color.The elder hair comes in two shades: brown and auburn have salt and pepper while copper, ginger and strawberry blonde come with an ivory white shade.

Mesh Information: The mesh comes with 5 colors at Rose Sims2 in Download > Hair.  It is currently on page 9. The file to download is rosehair_0026.zip The name of the unipped mesh file is MESH_RoseHair_0063.package.

The skin for the normal Maxis body type doesn't require any additional meshes, just download  the Norm-HairyRed-Barbie.rar file for hairy,   SKN-Norm-XhairyRed-Barbie.rar  for extra hairy and SKN-Norm-XXhairyRed-Barbie.rar for extreme hairy (Not to worry, only the males come with body hair )

Sweaters: The child and teen sweaters are from Rabid Angel's Weekend at the Lodge series at Sims Connection . The child sweaters are free but the teen sweaters are a premium download.

Live Long and Prosper!

Five red and a mid-brown recolor of the fabulous long, flowing male hair mesh with animation from Rose Sims2. The two short strands of hair at the top of the face are animated as is the long strand that hangs over the ears. These are simple recolors of Rose's textures with original alphas. Thank you, Rose, for allowing me to do these recolors.

Three red and a brown recolor of the long, gracefully arcing, ponytail mesh by Rose Sims2. This is the pony tail with the part in the front and no bangs or hair clip. This is a simple recolor of Rose's original textures. Thank you, Rose, for allowing me to do these recolors.

Three red recolors and six other colors of the wonderfully layered, loose, upsweept hair mesh by Rose Sims2. I used Rose's textures but the alphas have also been edited to remove two small irregularities.

shade of brown.  My recolored elder hair comes in two shades: the brown has a silver brown and the red shades come with a silver beige. The five original shades that come with the mesh are also available with my edited alphas. The recolors are all color binned.

During the recoloring, I noticed two small irregularities in the alpha that I adjusted: a cleft in the blue barrette and a dab of color on the left nape of the neck. I have included the original colors in this upload with the edited alphas to remove these minor annoyances. The elder shade with the original colors is an attractive silver gray. The orignal colors are color binned and the deep mauve (purple brown) shade is binned brown.
