1  Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / Re: WCIF: Vampires don't die in the sun (But all other things apply) on: May 23, 2010, 10:13:54 am
Hmmn, have you tried turning 'motivedecay off'...won't that prevent them from dying but still complaining and smoking from the sun?
2  Simmers' Paradise / Tutorials / Re: Car tutorial / not finished but alot info ;) on: March 11, 2010, 04:24:55 am
Hi Bloom!

Does your tutorial apply to making NPC replacement vehicles too? The reason I asked is because Hexameter did a series of NPC carriages for themed neighborhoods (as seen here: http://www.modthesims.info/member.php?u=75890).

But several important NPC vehicles were neglected: Police, Fire, Repoman, Exterminator and Delivery. I tried to use his carriages to complete the set, but I just don't know enough about changing meshes, etc. on an object - I usually just do recolors. I cloned the Repotruck and then attempted to insert the carriage mesh/texture but leave the rest alone. The result was that the truck was invisible, the repoman just floated there and never got out of his vehicle, lol. Clearly Im in over my head.

Any advice or help on this project?

Thanks!
3  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Residential / Compton Estate (True Blood) on: January 23, 2010, 12:31:44 pm

In the True Blood series, Bill Compton is a Southern gentleman vampire that returns to his family's plantation estate in Bon Temps, LA. Despite its deteriorating state due to long abandonment, Bill hopes to remodel the old structure and call it home once again.

The downstairs includes the entry hall, living room, study, kitchen, dining room, servant's quarters and powder room. The upstairs includes the master bedroom and bath, along with three other bedrooms and bathroom. Bill can use the 'invisible' door under the stairs to get to a hidden basement that has been divided into the three rooms. Bill's house is decorated and partially furnished in a style similar to that seen in the TV series.

Some recolors could not be packaged with the lot. They are included in a separate folder. Just add these items directly to your Sims2 -> Downloads folder.

Could make an invisible recolor of the game toilet and place that over the custom object. Probably a lot faster and easier to accomplish.

Let me know if there are any other invisible objects you need and I will try to make them for you. Oh, and I realized the fridge needs Seasons or higher to work. Hope that isn't an issue for you.

In order to create completely invisible objects they need to be cloned. Some objects you can get away with simply making a recolor, but it will not remove the shadows. Most objects are more complex and require multiple changes to get it to work.

I've made an invisible recolor of the expensive fridge on my site. I could not remove the outside ground shadow and I tried multiple fixes that worked for other objects. I'm sure someone else might know how to do it, I'm still new to the Invisible Object creation. Otherwise the light and interior shadow have been removed.

9  Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / Re: These Pillows and seat. on: November 21, 2009, 11:48:29 pm
The seat is actually 4-ottoman type things pushed together to form a 'bench' look. It was created by Jope at SimplyStyling (http://www.simplystyling.de/homesims2.html) and the pillows on the bed are from Sandy at AroundTheSims2 (www.aroundthesims2.com)

The recolors you see are my creation and are included in the lot download. Sandy does have other pillow recolors on her site and they are located in the 'bedrooms' sections.

I created that wallpaper (Its a waverly pattern actually) and it can be found in my Holly Ridge house model #4 at http://www.sunni.us/holly4.htm

The couch is the in-game couch put together at angles. The pillows are from Parsimonious.org and are included with the lot.
11  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Residential / Gran's House (True Blood) on: October 19, 2009, 04:41:49 pm

In the True Blood series, Sookie inherits her grandmother's home. It's Southern style design is getting a bit worn and in need of some attention. The downstairs includes a large front porch, entry hall, living room, dining room, kitchen, den, bathroom, bedroom and back screened porch. Sookie and Gran's bedrooms are located upstairs along with a bathroom.

Gran's House is mostly furnished. To look properly like Gran's you'll want to add more clutter and antiques. The den and downstairs bedroom are unfurnished. In the set pictures you can see that Gran uses the den for a sewing room. However, in order to limit extra content the room has been left empty for you to furnish as you prefer. Also, Gran's doesn't have a driveway, but a dirt circle. Use an 'invisible driveway' if you need a car.

Some recolors could not be packaged with the lot. They are included in a separate folder. Just add these items directly to your Sims2 -> Downloads folder.

In the True Blood series, Fangtasia is a popular nightclub/bar where humans can meet and mingle with vampires. Sookie refers to it as a vampire Disneyland because it offers a touristy-goth atmosphere.

The building includes the main bar area with a stage complete with Eric's throne, as well as dance platforms for the vampire dancers (You will need to use the 'moveobjects on' cheat to put them on the platforms), a merchandise area and restrooms. The ground floor also has Eric's office, a second Office for Pam and Chow, Dressing Room and Lounge for visiting performers, Kitchen, and Bathroom with shower. The lower floor is the Basement 'Dungeon' along with a 'Crypt' that sleeps four coffins.

Some recolors could not be packaged with the lot. They are included in a separate folder. Just add these items directly to your Sims2 -> Downloads folder.
