2  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Spirituality of The Sims on: May 09, 2008, 07:09:47 am
Not as elaborate as some of your idea's, but I do have some spirituality in my game. Using the objects from here http://moonsims.asi.org/dh-sims-site/sims2index.html the Christian shrine, Tibetan prayer wheel and the Prayable Elvis. As my sims aren't really that serious the Elvis shrine is in more houses than the other objects!

Edit: I see my link skills are poor. You need the Objects section then Decorative Objects and the items I mean are half way down the page.
3  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Buzz / The Sims 3 buzz/gossip/rumours on: May 01, 2008, 08:59:19 pm
Thanks btm, your imput on computer parts has been helpful. I've bookmarked that site for later, no point upgrading until we are closer to the release date.
4  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Buzz / The Sims 3 buzz/gossip/rumours on: April 29, 2008, 08:32:01 pm
I'd actually be happy if my updates for TS3 came to around $300. I suspect that it could be much more. There seems to be a lot of sales tax or something on computer parts in Australia, because I can't see a good video card being under $250.
Like so many others I'm worried about the spec's. If it needs a dual core processor, new operating system, video card etc etc I might just as well get a new computer. Here that means at least $2000. All I'm left with from my old one is a hard drive and dvd player!
I live in hope that the 'granny's laptop' quote will mean my perfectly good P4 system may run the game adequately on medium settings.
5  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Buzz / Who's going to get the The Sims 3? on: March 20, 2008, 12:17:34 am
I'm interested. It would have been nice to have had some real facts on the TS3 web site though. A release date, some system spec's, that sort of thing.
If it really is a year away I can't get too excited, who knows what will happen by then. But I'm definately interested.
6  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Problem installing University on: March 11, 2008, 02:01:11 am
This ep was murder to reinstall for me too. It took me several tries and only worked when I turned off my anti virus. I left the firewall on, but was off the net. I have Norton's which I see they are blaming for the Nvidia crashing issues now.
7  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Cooking Contest in FT? on: March 07, 2008, 04:38:10 am
Yes, this is the only contest my sims have got to. As Cleo said, the contest is available on the cooking hobby lot. When you get there, there is a table set up and a judge. I sent my sim to the kitchen and he was able to make an item for the contest. When he had he put it on the table and other sims added their entries. The sim who won was the resident chef from that lot, but the judge kept thinking about my sim so I believe he came a close second lol
8  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / First Free Time information on: December 06, 2007, 10:11:45 pm
It looks like fun. I really thought it was going to be a giant stuff pack, but it looks like it will be more than that. On the info page they have a picture of an exercise bike, I so want that! The one  The Welldressed Sim had back in the TS1 days was the reason I first signed up to paysites. I just loved it.
9  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Consumer alert! A general review of the products of GedonSoft GmbH. on: November 08, 2007, 09:34:47 pm
I actually stood and looked at these today as I was getting Teen Stuff. I'm glad I decided against them. The Facebook stuff can be easily done in bodyshop, and anyway I don't want real people in my game.
I was tempted for a moment with the clothes making one as I can't do cc myself. But then again there is just so much good cc out there I really don't need to try that.
10  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Have you used the products for sims2? on: November 01, 2007, 11:09:11 pm
I haven't heard about this. I wonder if the clothing one and hairstyle one will be useful.
Harvey Norman you say? Well there is one near me, maybe I'll have a look.......just a look!
I really mustn't buy anything more this week, what with Teen style and SimCity Societies so close. I've already bought Settler's 6 and the new Zoo Tycoon2 ep, even though I haven't time to play them, and probably won't for months.
11  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / SimCity Societes is compatible with Sims 2??? on: October 31, 2007, 12:27:03 am
Probably not. As you know terrains are made in SimCity 4. There has not been any announcement about tie-in's with this game and the existing sims.
Apparently we can check various SCS sims and see how our city meets their needs, that's about as close to this game as I've heard so far. This is similar to the sims that were in SC4.
Still when it is released I'll be interested in seeing what it has to offer.
12  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / The Curly Hair Mesh on: October 24, 2007, 01:03:09 am
and thank you texred for asking the question! I have just downloaded that hair and love it.....but then I'm old enough to have had a spiral perm in the '80's 'shudder'.
13  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Do you Play Sims 2 on: October 19, 2007, 07:49:26 pm
Odd question. If you don't play TS2 why hang around a sims forum?
14  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Free Time? on: October 16, 2007, 09:45:00 pm
What free time do sims have anyway? Mine are always skilling or making friends to get promoted. Some in Uni have free time and they spend that on community lots, still skilling, just to get out of the house.
This sounds like a great idea for a stuff pack, I wonder what else they will include to make it worth ep status.
15  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / smaller beach lots on: October 16, 2007, 09:32:15 pm
I've been using the smallest Maxis lot in my new hood and am having no problems with it. The view from the house is wonderful, I just love watching the waves. Hope the simmies do too, as now they have the views from most rooms! They are certainly enjoying going to their private beach after work each day.
My community lot has not been as successful, only one sim actually stayed and did things on it, the others just walked by. There is not much there so the problem maybe that it is not exciting enough yet. I had sent newly graduated Stella Terrano there to make friends with someone who has a beach house, but there was only Brandon Lilliard to meet. One day she may earn enough for her own beachfront pad.
