Can you change your resolution in game? If not, your video card or monitor won't support it. Monitor: SyncMaster 763MB. Video card: Intel Extreme Graphics (I suck, I know, but it was the best in '02.) |

Thanks for all the help, but I have a question: how do I input the resolution? Can you give me an example? Also, cat, the Windows key is the start key.
I have mine set at: "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Open For Business\TSBin\Sims2EP3.exe" -r1152x864
1152x864 is my resolution.

Some times when i download houses for the sims offline i notice that some of the items placed are placed in between tile slots. For example if you have a two tile long tv and a three tile long couch then the tv will never be facing the direct middle of the couch.....i hope that makes sense cuz i want to know how i can make the tv be facing the exact middle of the couch....hope someone understands and if you do then please help Yeah, that's always been a problem for me. I always have to get the bad TV because of a three-tiled couch. |

If your computer can handle the additional resource used to run in Windows Mode, you can edit the startup icon by adding a -w after what's already listed for its Properties, Target.
For example rather than: "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Glamour Life Stuff\TSBin\Sims2SP2.exe"
you would modify it to be "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Glamour Life Stuff\TSBin\Sims2SP2.exe" -w
Optionally you can add the resolution with -r 800x600 or whatever resolution you want the game to run in. I knew the window thing, but THANKS for the resolution one! Do you think if I ran it in... w-what's the smallest res? Anyways, maybe if I ran it in the smallest resolution it would go faster? For all the help you've given me, ancient, thanks alot! |

I have stuff to do. Checking posts on here, or simply browsing the net, I need to be able to minimize it, but it always takes so damn long to minimize it when I press the Windows button, and even longer brining it back up. Is there any other way?

Well, I got Open For Business again last night, and... well, I went to sleep. Well, first thing this morning, I started playing it, and it was working fine, but then I went and made a business. Well, everything was working well there, too, but then I went to hire some employees. Well, once the little phone animation had ended, it said:
Object Error:
name: Controller - Business - Hire Employees Dialog Populator
Stack size: 2
Error: Undefined Transition.
What can I do? I tried using a computer, too, and the same thing happened. Can someone please help me? I really want this to work.
Oh, by the way: Comicalmuse, you're being used as my wife, and we have good looking kids.

Well, sorry that this has nothing to do with Sims 2, but it does have to do with Sims. Whenever I get to 95%, it says "Component transfer error," then it says Deluxe Edition disc one isn't in... of course it isn't, it told me to put in disc two! So, I put in disc one, I click "try again," but all it does is close the installer. I had to re-format my drive, and I thought before I did that, that it was a problem with my computer. But, apparently not. Can someone help me with this, I really wanna play Sims 1! Well, really Vacation, but...

And how do you suggest I do that? They'll probably view it as illegal, I'll go to prison and get a human booster-shot from a guy named Molly! Sorry, that's how my -- and Seth MacFarlane --'s mind works, lol. I need to know about this ASAP! I just thought about what I'd do to get my expansions back... working out with Oprah Winfrey is just one of the things I thought of.
