1  The Sims 3 / Pudding Exchange / Re: Kelsey on: December 20, 2009, 01:24:31 am
Simply stunning.  I was beginning to believe that it was close to impossible to make a sim(3) that looked anywhere near as good as the majority of the sims from the last game did.  Keep cranking em out and I'll download however many you wanna post.

Good work.

2  Simmers' Paradise / Lots & Neighborhoods / haunted house with ghost on: October 24, 2008, 12:45:05 pm
kill a sim, one of yours, a townie, pizza delivery boy, whoever, don't delete the urn or tombstone, and voila! you now have a ghost.  Color of ghost will depend on how they died, for instance, sims that are killed by fire will be red, drownings will be blue (and leave puddles everywhere), sickness will be green, etc.

If you want to designate one house in particular to be a "haunted" house, click on the tombstone (urns must be moved outside to become a tombstone) and select move to... whichever lot you want to be haunted.

If you want the ghost to come out more frequently (as a general rule they're only supposed to come out at night, but there are reports of daylight ghost sightings as well) have somebody kick the tombstone repeatedly, as this will anger the ghost and they'll have a greater chance to come out.  Be warned however, that the ghost will probably scare the person that kicked their tombstone, sometimes to the point of death, which just results in more ghosts, which is kinda the point.

Nice job, she's another one of the "can't quite get to look right" people I've seen attempted many times, and you've pulled it off marvelously.

Now if I can find a Jennifer Aniston sim that looks even remotely accurate, I'll be happy

Thanks guys, technically, it's 2 clubs in one.  Downstairs is for the drunks and freaks, upstairs is for the people that just want to socialize, increase their caffeine level, watch a flick, or hustle some pool.

Hope everybody likes it!

Drive-by food poisoning!!  Well, I suppose that's pretty much what happens every time you eat something out of a window anymore (especially if it's got a "Mc" in front of it).

But drive-by botulinum toxin poisoning would be awesome, they'd never know what hit em until they got a real bad headache and dropped dead a half hour later...

Cheesy

Don't be confused by the names of the screenshots, I was originally going to name it Sunspot, which is why those screens are named that.

Down to business:

4x2 lot, 2 floors, 2 bars, 2 hot tubs and a dance floor downstairs, upstairs has 3 poker tables, 2 billiards tables, a bar, a coffee bar and a 12 (or more) seat movie theater/game room.

3 Elevators in convenient locations for easy access to everything.  Also has "Fire Fountains" in front of the club, I've enclosed a screen of what I'm talking about.

Comes complete with Bandatron ticket machine (tm) for instant set up and operation.

Own RADIATION today for just a little over 250,000.

Trust me, it's worth it.

(Disclaimer:  Not only is this the first community lot I've uploaded anywhere, this is also the first community lot I EVER built from the ground up, from an empty lot.  I normally use existing structures and modify them for my own playstyle, but I had to go all out on this one, I hope you have as much fun playing it as I did building it.)

NO custom content used, all EP/SP required (SP's are questionable).  For best results, install with CleanInstaller, and as always, feel free to let me know what you think, or if you have any requests.

Nice job, Banx. I've always liked underground garages, but I can never fit them into my own designs. Hah.

Hey, look over there! *backs up her flatbed and steals the house*

...what?

Now Jenna, you should know better than to think you'd need to steal anything from me.  All you have to do is ask nicely (or roughly...) and whatever is mine, is yours.

Nice job, Banx! I see you figured out the underground garage/driveway thing. Smiley

Yea, quite some time ago actually.  After following every tutorial I could find on basement garages and failing with flying colors, I finally just got aggravated one day and figured it out myself.  Of course, the side effect is, I can't build a house now without a basement garage, or if it's a prebuilt house, I have to put a basement in it.  Kinda tricky if the house in question doesn't have a foundation to start with, but I figured that out too...  :evil2:  :headbang:

Thanks for the comments guys!!

You should have waited til you had pictures because people probably won't download something they can't see. I'm looking forward to the pictures though.

It's fixed now, I went in and fixed a few things in the house, added a second bath downstairs and room for a third for your employees break room, or at least that's how I envision it, but it's all up to you guys now.

This is a modification of one of the houses in Strangetown that I modified for personal use, it's got 1BR, 2 bath upstairs, basement garage, elevators, 2 bath downstairs, and a separate basement entrance on the side of the house.  I normally use the basement as the shop, but once you get it in your game, it's all up to you.

Pardon my lack of screenshots for the time being, I'll edit this post with a few once I boot up the game.

Enjoy!

Should be compatible with base game and at least one expansion (NL definitely due to the garage).
If anybody has any problems, feel free to ask any questions you have.

Very cool, haven't quite decided what I'm going to do with it yet, but it's still better than any of my abstract lots.

Comicalmuse, your sim is beautiful, but compared to your actual self, it falls very short indeed...

Yea yea, I know, necromancy is bad, m'kay?  Still doesn't stop me from dropping a comment you might appreciate...

I've been using this lot for months strictly for neighborhood deco, filling in empty blocks, etc.  Last week, I finally moved sim-Banx into it, mainly due to laziness in the building department recently (result of Unpleasantview imploding, you know the story).  I have to say this is a magnificently constructed lot, but I must add that it is entirely too big for me, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.  I'm finally to the point of having the shop stocked and ready to open (been using the bandatron to boost the sales badge and charge suckers for using the pool), however, I have never once stepped into the 2nd floor, with just my selfsim living there, it would be an exercise in futility to attempt to use all that space...

This is in no way meant to be construed as criticism, just wanted to let you know you'd really outdone yourself on this one...(the small house/shop looks very nice too, I've had it for as long as I've had this one, and it's looking like the place to go if I decide I need to downsize)

Seems to me that the 2 hardest human-to-sim conversions are Jennifers (Hewitt and Aniston).  I still haven't seen an Aniston worth downloading, but this is probably the best Hewitt I've seen yet.

Good Job!

This gets my :headbang: of approval
