46  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Round swimming pool is not working on: March 29, 2007, 10:19:25 pm
I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it, but I can only get the rounded pool to show up, by putting floor tiles around my completed pool. My pools work fine, but now I'm wondering if I do have a problem after all.

I have this unrelenting fascination with houses, bordering on obsession, so consequently I download far too many. The fun thing is to just tour the property, but every now and again I do happen upon a particular house plan that captures my fancy.
And therein lies my dilema. I do not always like the choice of decoration, and rarely like my pre-made houses to be furnished.(Simply a personal preference, not meant to disparage anyone's tastes and excellent efforts)
So I make my changes, and in the interests of the KISS effect (keep it simple stupid)(if you knew me, this practise is self-explanatory) so as to not overload my game too much, I usually replace the walls and floors with Maxis *ugh* content, delete the unwanted items, repackage the house (for my own private use). I then exit my game, and using Clean Installer delete all the unwanted files that show up.
Thus far, that practise has proven quite effective, until..........today.
No matter which angle I approach a bay window from, I simply cannot delete the items placed on the windowsill. Consequently I cannot also simply delete the bay window (cannot delete objects with something on them).
I don't want to have to resort to my other practise of mapping the entire house out, and rebuild from scratch, but I just can't get rid of these items.
So............any suggestions???
49  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / problem with very low environment on: March 25, 2007, 09:30:38 pm
I honestly don't know but..........maybe more lights, some posters, some music?Huh? Possibly some blinds for the windows??? I'm sorry, it's the only thing I can think of.
50  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Downloads subfolders on: March 25, 2007, 08:39:28 pm
BBB......he he eh*PS: the tutorial at MTS2 by Loverat is not only grossly out of date - but also has numerous inaccuracies and mind-boggling spelling errors *
Just curious, what would Brother Raven think? rothlmao
And I thought it was just me that the far too numerous spelling errors made me so *argh*, that I wanted to mail that person a dictionary.
51  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Doors on: March 24, 2007, 11:04:27 pm
Hi Jmh, I have custom doors in all my houses and they work just fine.
52  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Penguin? on: March 24, 2007, 10:55:32 pm
According to Prima Guide, From child to elder, all can pet the penguin. If u shoo the penguin it damages daily and lifetime relationship. If you leave fish laying about, both cats and penguin will consume it. He will try to jump to get a fish mounted on your wall, and he comes by to chat with both the snowman and scarecrow. It also says he will sometimes leave a puddle. What it doesn't say anywhere is what happens if your relationship with the penguin gets and stays high, what benefit it is to your Sim. (if any)
53  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Defragmenting on: March 23, 2007, 10:25:47 pm
OMg--bat poop, I just spit water all over my desktop. rotflmao

I have said before I am computer technically challenged, now I am shamefully admitting to outright stupidity. I moved the folders out before I installed Seasons, and I forgot to put them all back in. So I was going back and forth between the 2 folders and got them mixed up. As my father would say "Dunekumpf"
54  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / update custom content on: March 23, 2007, 10:16:12 pm
I'm really not sure about this, but............MTS2 has a lot of tutorials on just about everything. Most people refer to them for that kind of thing. TSR also has tutorials, but I haven't looked at them lately so I think the best place to start is at MTS2.
55  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / update custom content on: March 22, 2007, 08:48:40 pm
I'm keeping mine in the game with the hopes that someone more intelligent than me can figure it out. LOL

57  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Defragmenting on: March 21, 2007, 10:21:33 pm
I don't know then what it could be, but I am having issues like that too. Only with mine entire folders disappear and re-appear at will. One day I have a "SavedSims" folder and the next day I do not. Then my "facetemplates" folder up and vanished, only to re-appear  2 days later. Sometimes I feel like my computer is playing with my sanity, which is dangerous because I don't have much sanity left.
58  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Defragmenting on: March 20, 2007, 10:19:30 pm
When you first open your game, is the "enable custom content" on or off? I don't know if defragging would turn CC off, but that's what I would check to see.

60  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Another stupid moment on: March 17, 2007, 09:54:05 pm
Oh Micco, that's ok, I appreciate your thoughfulness in trying to help. Maybe all I really needed to do after all was to restart the game cause everything I thought I lost is back, and everything is working now. So......who knows?
I'm just glad it's all working now.
