I "locked" my apartment doors because the Landlord kept using my trash compactor to throw anyway his trash.  But then when I called up a Sim Friend & invited him over I "unlocked" the door - & no matter what I did - "Call Sim Over"  "Ask Sim to Join" he would not come into the apartment.  It is totally annoying.  I thought for a moment that by having "locked" the doors once I had to let a sims day pass before the invited sim would know the door was unlocked & then would come in - NOPE.  I thought if a left the sims family & came back to play them again the game would read the "unlocked" doors & the invited sim would come in - NOPE.  Now that I have unlocked my doors the Landlord is using my trash compactor again & the next door neighboor (who HATES my sim & even had a fight with the him & beat him up) comes inside to dance to my stero - but will my friend sim who I invited over come in to watch TV - NOPE.  I finally used the "moveObects on" cheat & picked the sim up and put him in my apartment.  Now will he be able to leave on his own or will I have to pick him up & put him on the curb to say goodbye?  Has this happened to anyone else?  Any suggestions?  It is so annoying.  I have read other threads where people have said they do not believe the EA programmers actually test the games before they put them on sale.  I never believed that - but now I have to say they may be right.  I mean the landlord using my kitchen is silly & a neighboor sim - who HATES your sim - just walking in & dancing in your living room is just stupid.

When looking for possible roomates I am never given the option of having a roomate from my sims bin.  Is it possible to have a roomate that I myself have created without having them "move in"?

My sims family adopted a teen - with help from a cheat - but now on this web sight I found a perfect skin that goes with the teenager I have already used in the game for some time.  Is there anyway that I can "overlay" the new skin I found over the teen that I have already been using in the game so that I don't have to recreate him & start from the begining?  The sims game allows you to change facial features, that I know, but not skin tone or body (that I know).  And does anyone know if in AL we can adopt teenage SIMS?

I have never had this problem before.  A Sim paints a custom painting - he moves to a new lot - & now the paintings that I have loaded into his backpac before he move - are ruined.  The "painting" is still in his backpac BUT it is a silly orange-red-stripped-on-white thing.  It still has the $$$ value of the painting when my Sim first painted it - but the image has gone.  And no I have not removed the custom image from my PAINTINGS FOLDER.  What gives?  Has anyone else had this problem?

I had trouble with AL so I went through my DOWNLOAD FOLDER & removed all cheats - still no good - So I Disabled my CC when the Start Up Menu prompted me & the game worked fine.  (the sims cheat of maxMotives makes the game playable enough).  But I noticed when I went to play again the games "CC Disable or Enable" screen still shows some of the cheats that I had removed from my DOWNLOAD FOLDER - & not just the recent ones I removed but OLD ones I had removed goodness knows when.  Why is that?  & even after I Disabled all CC at the start up screen, certain items - such as a CC painting - are still available to use while playing & they do not crash the game.  Too wierd.  Does anyone know how this is happening?  Does anyone know WHY this is happening?  Is my game having problems because it still thinks I have DOWNLOADS of CC that I have removed - and some of them a LONG time ago?

I thought I had seen a thread before from someone who did not get to see the birds in FREETIME.  At the time I thought - well, we don't actually get to see the birds - just the bubble of a bird over your head when the sims are birdwatching - but then someone told me that there are birds.  Well, are there or not there?  Has anyone seen the actual birds yet?

I have all extension pacs including FREETIME.  A teen sim's parent died.  I moved him into a another household and will use the insimenator to make his relationship with the new couple - child.  But I was wondering if there is any other way to make a sim couple adopt one of the teenage sims you have created yourself.  Any suggestions?  Also, when I have done this before I noticed that the "adopted" teen sim keeps his own last name - that's cool, I assume that would be normal, but is there an easy when to change his name to match the rest of the family?

My sims about the reward Drafting Table for the Architect's career path.  All his drawings on it come out in gray drab and look like etchings that barely resemble the pictures they are suppose to.  Is this right?  Are they suppose to look like that?  Will the quality of the pics improve the more my sim uses the drafting table?  Using the painting eisle works fine.  Everything else seems to work fine - maybe the drawing off the draft table or suppose to look this way - but if thats so why would any sim hang them on their walls?

I don't know if this is a BV ? or not - but I have BV installed so I thought I would put it here.   2 of my adult sims, who live in different houses and are not married, had a baby.  The mother lives with the baby and they have the normal family relationship flag mother/son.  The father lives in a different house and he has NO family relationship with the baby at all - just a memory of having had him.  Is this right?  If a teen child lives somewhere else they still have the family relationship with the parent.  If a child goes off to college they still have the family relationship flags with their parents.  So what went wrong?  I'll use the insimenator relationship mod to fix the problem if I have to - but if anyone has any other ideas I would be very grateful.  I didn't want to have the sims marry, but if they marry will the baby then be both of theirs rather then just hers?  If I then break the married couple up would the son be a son to both parents or just to the mother?  Has this ever happened to anyone else?  Please give me some advise.

I don't know if this is a BV ? or not - but I have BV installed so I thought I would put it here - In my game I got the Male Maid to move into one of the houses so now he is a real player instead of a NPC - but now whenever my sims call to hire a maid it is always a woman - there are no more male maid choices.  I have tried calling "SERVICE" again and again but the sims are only offered 2 choices of female maids.  Is this normal?  Did I make a mistake by moving the male maid into the game and now my lonely housewives have no chance of a naughty afternoon flirting and dancing with the "pool boy"?  Any suggestions of how to get a male maid available to my sims would be greatly appreciated.

I have no idea what to do - & I have pested my IT rep at the office for the last 2 days.  My computer is XP - and meets all the requirements to run the game & then some I have all the extension packs - including SEASONS - and everything has been great - BUT - BV will not run by AUTORUN - or by doing the manual load - I have done everything I could think of and everything my Computer Guy at my office suggested.  Has anyone else had a problem with the AUTORUN not working?  I am two steps away from giving up - or buying a new PC - but I DON'T want WINDOWS VISTA (or whatever its called) because I have heard from everyone it is nothing but trouble - & all the PCs at Best Buy come with WINDOWS VISTA pre-loaded.  Please tell me someone out there has had this problem & found a way to fix it!

I spent days making 2 sims - that I sent to College - they fell in love - they left school with honors - they got married - reached the top of their jobs - everything was great.  Then I wanted them to adopt a teen from another family I had made.  I killed off his natural parents & brother - moved the teen into my happy couples home - then I used the mods to make the teen their kid (he kept his last name & got a grant for college for being an orphan - cool) but THEN I SCREWED UP!  I used the mod to make the adopted teen love his parents - now the parents can't even kiss without the teen going into a jealous rage & slapping everyone!!!  I put the problem on hold by using the "no jealousy" mod but I need to fix this.  Any advice?  Please?  Someone told me to remove his "flags" but I don't know what the means.

I thought Ghosts only come out of their graves at night (?)
I had a family of a father & 2 sons - I killed off the father & 1 son - then moved the last son (& the 2 headstones) to another family.  The Ghosts have come out but they stay haunting the place day & night.  Also the son-ghost floats around with an icon of his brother over his head with a red slash across his face.  Does that mean he hates his brother?  The father floats around with an icon of a bed over his head what the heck could that mean???  The ghosts only try to scare the new family members & leave the surviving son from their old family alone.  What's that about?  And the 2 dogs don't seem to notice the ghosts at all.  Can anyone explain this to me.  I really love the ghosts & I don't want to get rid of them - but they are acting so wierd.

Someone told me I could load my own .wav file or film into the TV section of the EA GAMES folder and they would show while my sim is watching TV - but they never do - does anyone have any suggestions?  Is this even possible?

After I loaded Sims SEASONS I had a problem everytime my sim got into bed with another sim - to chat or kiss or to woowoo.  So I removed all mods I had that had anything to do with beds.  Now I have no problems except after 2 sims have woowoo the bed is unusable - I have to deleate the bed and buy a new one.  Also, now one of the maxis beds is unavailble for purchase.  By removing the mods could I have somehow effected something else?  I can live with this problem, but it is very annoying.  Does anyone have any suggestions?
