2  Simmers' Paradise / Content Creation & Recoloring Help / Alpha see through in certain lighting with blend and 0 settings is this normal? on: October 22, 2008, 07:35:29 am
I have noticed if I set the txmt of the alpha to blend and 0 then make a solid texture it is still somewhat see through in certain alngle and certain lights in bodyshop and ingame.
Opacitys set to 5 and 3 as it is a double sided top.
Is this normal?

I can stop it from been slightly see through by changing to none and 1 but then the edges of the top become all jaggy plus I have to make sure I have the texture on the body the same as the alpha or the skin will sometimes show through where parts of the alpha are in contact with the body when done this way.
3  Simmers' Paradise / Content Creation & Recoloring Help / How do I make default replacement outfits? on: February 15, 2008, 03:14:09 am
Looking around for a tutorial on this but I can't find any.
I've only found tutorials replacing default replacement skintones and eyes but nothing about clothes.

I'm wanting to replace the original maid and cheerleader outfits but don't know where to start.

I know Warlokk has made a replacement maid outfit.

Can anyone tell me how to do this or link me to a tutorial?

Thanks.
4  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Women / 36 Hip, HP Untuckable Slouchy bottoms with Bigger Boots on: February 09, 2008, 08:29:25 am
Hey,
I made this resize along with three textures as a request from Chopperchic.
This is a 36 Hip resize of my HP Untuckable Slouchy Bigger Boots mesh which I have for download at MTS2.
I decided to upload the mesh here since Insimenator is the home of various body shapes and sizes.

Credits:-

Mesh
The wise Hysterical Paroxysm for giving me permanent permission to edit and upload her bodyshop meshes with my own interpretation.

Custom content used on model seen in thumbnail
Hair:-Nouk
Eye Shadow:-Barcelonista
Lipstick:-Helaene
Skintone:-Louis (Ren)
Eyes:-IcedMango

Feel free to recolour, just make sure you link back to this thread for the mesh.
If you want to edit the mesh, you will need to PM Hysterical Paroxysm and me as this was originally her mesh.
Please do not upload this mesh and textures to any other sites.
Don't forget to PM me so I can see your recolours.

For people who use 36 Hip bottoms, download and enjoy.
5  Simmers' Paradise / Content Creation & Recoloring Help / Experienced creators I need some constructive criticism. on: January 09, 2008, 11:24:24 pm
This is a mesh I will be uploading to MTS2 in the very near future.
I have confirmed the mesh with Hysterical Paroxysm as it's her untucked bottoms I have altered, so she gave me the go ahead.
The shoes have been re shaped to look like my Dr Martin steel caps, instead of the long flat boot shape.

I still have to get confirmation on the use of the pants textures from 'All about style' as I am terrible at retextureing.
The only parts I have retextured are the shoe soles and the white pair of shoes.

So what do you people think?:toothy5:
6  Simmers' Paradise / Content Creation & Recoloring Help / Fixed PeggyMESH 031 (0222) bug, should I upload if I don't get a reply? on: August 07, 2007, 12:07:05 am
Downloaded this free hair from peggysims2 and noticed an annoying gap at the back of the head which I have fixed.

Just incorrect skinwieghts and vertices needed to be moved slightly.

I e-mailed her but I haven't had a reply yet.
I usually don't get replys from these independent websites and I'm wondering if I should upload it for others to use if I don't get a reply?

Here's a pic of the gap I have fixed.

7  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Sims 2 in game loading lag write up. on: June 11, 2007, 09:37:56 pm
Hi'
I thought I'd do a write up on sims 2 and lag issues people are facing to make them relaise that the lag is all over the spectrum of PC's ranging from low-mid-to-high.

First of all everbody knows about the major loading lag points in sims2

E.G
1:- people coming to house and going.
2:- Changing in and out of clothes.
3:- Cars arriving and going.

In my case:-
I'd just like to say that a higher end graphics card can slow down the performance of the sims2 as I had found when I replaced my Gigabyte 7600GS with a  Sapphire Ati X1950pro 512mb.

Of course the frame speed went up and some object texture detail with the same game video setting.

But. . . .

When it comes to the three things I have mentioned, the loading time gap is  even more noticable.

Solutions
1:-I have found to solve this at the moment is by reducing all video settings to at least medium.
2:-Go back to the previous GPU (duh)

So sometimes a better GPU does not solve the lag problem infact it may cause more lag.

With ths system the loading lag is pretty bad if the Texture detail is high.

System specs:-
P4 3.0E HT @ 3.2Mhz
ASucks P4P800SE
Sapphire ATi X1950pro 512mb
2x1GB dualchannel RAM @ 430Mhz
Audigy 2 ZS
160GB SATA
80GB IDE

If anyone has a story similar.
Or has thier own answer to lag in this game besides buying a whole new system.

Please post it so other confused new simmers out there can understand that the system requirements on the boxes are a lie

If you have a system which has little or no lag please post the system specs here so other people can see what PC's is needed to fully enjoy this game.

8  Simmers' Paradise / Content Creation & Recoloring Help / Converting PAF's sheer robe mesh to Warlokk's teen Hi-Res mesh SOLVED! on: April 16, 2007, 09:05:01 pm
I've started a project on trying to convert PAF's sheer robe alpha mesh to Warlokk's teen Hi-Res mesh.
I have done that successfully just needs some fine tuning with the resizing of the alpha mesh.
The only problem I can't fix is with the texture going all funny when I use Mythic's alpha texture he created.
The thinner area's of the texture dissappear for some reason.
If I use a solid texture this does not happen.

I have included the mesh, texture, pictures of the Original and the teen version I have been trying to create.

Hopefully someone has the answer to this.

P.S this is the basic edit of the mesh since I don't think it is fitting as close as I would like it to.
9  Retired Creators / BodyShape Requests / No revert back to maxis mesh when going to work. on: April 06, 2007, 08:25:26 am
Is there a hack/mod so Warlokk meshes do not change back to maxis mesh when they go to work?
10  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Should Sims2 be lagging with my spec's? on: February 24, 2007, 04:55:40 am
My sims2 game lags bad at the start then goes fine with little slow downs here and there.
I have all 4 EP's
Graphic detail on nearly everything is set to medium.
defragged the hard drive etc...
My drivers are all up to date and it still lags.

Here's my specs:
P4 2.4Ghz 533FSB CPU
Gigabyte nVidia 7600GS 256mb 128bit AGP 8x
1GB PC3200 and 2x 256 PC2700 RAM (1.5GB)
Asus P4P800 SE Motherboard
160GB WD SATA
80GB WD PATA

Does anyone know where the problem lies?

Please help.
11  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Changing a Sims name on: January 23, 2007, 10:55:53 pm
Is there anyway to change a sims name after it has been created?
12  Simmers' Paradise / Content Creation & Recoloring Help / My preg morphs legs keep on going crazy! on: December 12, 2006, 04:41:28 am
I made my edit in milkshape with a mesh which has a fatbot and pregbot made sure everything is perfect.
Exported it with Unimesh then decided to re-edit the mesh so I imported the mesh again.
Create blend groups yes.
body fine, fatbot fine, pregbot's legs have been linked together!

Don't know why it's just the pregbot?
13  Simmers' Paradise / Content Creation & Recoloring Help / The reflective appearance has gone from my bottom! SOLVED on: December 08, 2006, 02:14:27 am
I noticed there appears to be a relective look on Warlokk's meshes.

I decided to modify one a give it platform heels.

A bottom with short short to be precise.

So I imported the file with unimesh & did that in milk shape.

Exported the file with unimesh back to simPE.

Run SimPE Opened the correct folder, replaced the original GMDC file and saved.

Ran body shop and checked out the end result.

OI! THE REFLECTIVE APPEARANCE HAS GONE FROM MY BOTTOM!

Everthing looks the same except the bottom has platform high heels now but the grey skin of bodyshop on my bottom has gone dull!

I compare it to the original and yep my bottom aint reflective no more.

Can someone please HELP my bottom reflect like the original 36H Warlokk Hips MESH.

This is before Milkshape:-See how the legs have a brighter shine to them?

This is after Milkshape:-See how there appears to be a line around the waistline where it doesn't reflect like the top and the legs are duller and not reflective in comparison to the before shot?

Sorry people don't know how to insert image and no one will tell me so this is the best I can do.:tard:
14  Retired Creators / Female Hi-Res Bodyshape Project / How do I make Bottom UV Map match up with top UV Map. SOLVED on: December 07, 2006, 12:16:19 am
I've found when I Imported a Warlokk mesh into Milkshape and then exported it.
It lost its reflective appearance on the skin.
How do I keep the reflective quality to the skin?

Has nothing to do with the skin.

Turns out Milkshape generates a mannequin with a slightly different texture so for example:- if you have modifed a bottom with milkshape and then looked at it on bodyshop and then looked at the waistline and compare it with the top the top you will see a difference in the texture.

This does NOT effect CAS.
