Hello, all.

Just a weird problem I've been having today. I have just done a complete uninstall and reinstall of all of my games (I have all EPs and stuff packs up to TSS, including Holiday Stuff) everything is patched, accesory.cache, and the other.cache were deleted and reloaded by the game, empty templates installed, hacks don't need to be updated because I have everything updated a couple weeks ago, everything is fine. I added in my simself and her/my family screen you get when you load them into a lot came out blank. In a lot it's completely normal, thumbnail shows up as usual. I downloaded some sims from GoS, from here and from MTS2, installed them with the clean installer and put them into my neighborhood. The first 4 sims' family pictures came out fine but afterwards, they all turned out blank. Even creating sims in University, their family pictures come out blank.

As I said, I deleted accessory.cache and the other .cache file (groups.cache?) and let the game reload them as normal. I also deleted cigen.package, which strangely hasn't loaded. I also deleted CASthumbnails.package and CANHobjectthumbnails.package.

So, what could be wrong?

Edit: I ran bodyshop again and got cigen.package loaded. I get the feeling this is caused by a corrupted hair of some sort, because as I was creating a new male sim last night and looking in under the stubble, the normal Maxis stubble was replaced by a picture of some long hair instead.

Stygia: Unfortunately, there's many people out there who would have a screaming fit if a game about Islam came out. "ZOMG INFIDELS YADA YADA". I personally wouldn't care because I've made the choice to not purchase another product from EA so long as they continue to use secuROM. If they didn't, I'd buy it in a heartbeat! I'd love to know more about Islam. But that's a different can of worms.

I'm a beginning Pagan. I came to Paganism through juvenile reasons-hex spell on a guy I liked who ended up liking someone else instead of me (long story, don't ask). I left it because I would have to *gasp* study the religion and my 15 year old self only wanted the instant gratification of seeing the guy turn into a toad . It was only last year that I picked it up again because it simply clicked with me. I can't really describe it except as that. I hesitate calling myself a Witch or a Wiccan or an Astaru or anything because I know nothing yet even though I've been studying and keep a small altar on my dresser.

So, how does that figure into my game? It doesn't, really. I'm merely the Mother Goddess and I enjoy the power trip of having a bunch of pixelated beings responding to my commands and of having arranged marriages and bizarre experimentation (ACR + various auto woohoo mods and more sims hacks + 9 sims who have little self control=47 sims on one lot before the death of the first generation and the near death of my computer). Yet I get bored fairly quickly with my sims and move on within a few weeks to a month, leaving the neighborhoods to rot on my harddrive until I delete them.

The Powergirl is one of my favorite meshes (weirdly enough), but I've noticed that she has a lack of things to wear (or else whatever's available is based on the nude mesh and looks painted on). The lack of things to wear I can deal with, but she doesn't have much to wear in the formal department that would be suitable for a wedding or more formal occasion. It's all either cocktail dresses or else recolors of the dress that Andrea Hogan wears.

What I'm asking for is 2 meshes-one mermaid style (with or without train I don't care) and one ballgown style (again, with or without train). Preferably at least one white recolor of each, along with one regular recolor (blue or green preferred though I'll take whatever you can create). I have a couple weddings coming up in my game and my poor Powergirls have nothing to get married in.

Ohmigosh, BlackKat! I thought you had dropped off the face of the earth and hadn't been doing weddings! You have got to post more! And I want to know where you got everything! (except for the flowers and veil on the bride. )

Any clue how to detect what's causing the problem or do I have to do the whole song and dance of halving my downloads until I discover the problem?

Also should mention this is a CUSTOM hotel, specifically Hotel 705 from MTS2, modified to et rid of the large 705 on the roof and that's it.

I have a hotel in my main neighborhood. I'm trying to have my sims go there for their wedding night. They check in, it's great, but as soon as they do, they get a popup saying, "We hope your vacation stay has been pleasant, shuttle has been dispatched." And 30 seconds later, the shuttle arrives and takes them home, even after checking in and even if they walk, take a car or take a taxi. Why would this be happening in my hotel in my main neighborhood? And is there a hack that would somehow stop this from happening?

On Wednesday afternoon, I was placing several hot males that I downloaded from here in my neighborhood and quit the game. It went off completely normally, no problems whatever. When I tried to go back into it later, the game refused to work. I tried it through the launcher, I heard the drive kick up, but nothing. I tried it through Simpe, nothing. I restarted my computer twice and restarted with both Simpe and the launcher, nothing. I did a complete reinstall, still nothing.

Three things I did notice while I was reinstalling the game:

1. My computer crashed once while installing NL, which I then deleted and did a full reinstall from the beginning, and

2. My drive was making this godawful, LOUD grinding noise when I had more than 8 tabs open. I shut them and the noise stopped for a few seconds and then started again, and

3. I got an error message when ejecting my registered copy of the full BV CD and it said, "Please make sure this is the full CD and not a backup" or some such.

The kicker to everything is that the game refuses to show up under the running processes seen by ctrl alt delete. So, something is screwed somewhere, but what is and how can I fix it?

Continuing on with what jamesabrown said, the 3 additional boxes are 1. featured content on the Sims2 site, 2. News (usually has to do with patches or whatever) and 3. BUY THE NEXT EXPANSION PACK NOWS box.

princess_kashka: I think it's either inSim, inteen or ACR that you can use to find out who the parent is.

No, actually. I had Pescados Pet Job fixes and I took it out. That's what caused the conflict between it and Inteen.

So I created a Royal Kingdom challenge for myself and did some general cleaning up of neighborhoods (as in not deleting them, merely taking them out of the Neighborhoods folder while the game was off and stuffing them in a new folder). Since I took out a good deal of CC and added in a lot of medieval CC, kept all of my hacks in there, too and didn't delete the objects.package, CASthumbnails.package and cigen.package, I thought it would be ok.

Mmm, apparently not. None of my sims can get jobs now. All of the male adults when trying to get a job have a window that pops up and says 'Don't you have homework to do? You need to get your grades up before you can get a job". What the heck happened? Is it a conflict with insim or with inteen? Or another one of my hacks?

All EPs up to BV (legal BV despite all the screaming about SuckuROM), all crap packs up to Celebrations, all hacks updated before I dared to start BV for the first time.

Feeding Sims is now simpler, and less likely to end with them huddled over a plate in the middle of the floor. If they're hungry, a message will tell you so, complete with a simple "Click here to feed him". (Which clearly clearly still leaves room for some enforced starvation fun)

That sounds absolutely stupid. Unless they can go themselves to the fridge and feed themselves, I'm not clicking on any messages. Because EAXis would somehow make it turn into a thing every 30 seconds. "FEED HIM FEED HIM FEED HIM FEED HIM"

It sounds good and nice and pretty but I am angry as hell with the BV SecuROM fiasco and the fact that I have to now buy H&M stuff BEFORE I reinstall the whole flapping shebang because it's not working right.  Give more money to those idiots when they screwed up my game? No, I'm done. I will risk the trojans, the worms, the viruses and the yuck because I will pirate the thing. Bring it on, baby.

Having said that-mine seems to work so far, but my game is still blagghed because of hack problems that I can't live without.

=/ I miss my Sims, my computer died on me and I don't know if it can be fixed.

Surprising things? Due to ACR, one of my most faithful pairs, Marta and Darrel Brewer split up. It all started when I sent edwin hughes, neighborhood male harlot and father of nearly 20 children by different women on a date with an intended prospect of his. Long story short, Edwin impregnated her (the second time since she already had a child by him). While I was there, I saw Darrel and Stella, who was a best friend of his, making out and kissing and going off to the photobooth to woohoo. I heard the chime that time.

To enact revenge (plus I wanted Marta and Darrel to have an equal number of kids, Darrel's illegitimate kid would bring them up to 13), I had Marta invite Edwin. With the help of Quick Relation, they were off to the car an sure enough, there was the chime. Marta gave birth to a bouncing baby boy named David.

To top everything off, Darrel's lover is bisexual and is attracted to a woman named Antonia Abbott. IF my game can be saved, I will see if I can get them together.
