1  Simmers' Paradise / Lots & Neighborhoods / Neighborhood Request on: March 08, 2009, 10:19:35 pm
I'm a CC Creator, and trying to build an entire neighborhood available for download, including lots.  The only problem is, I don't have SC4.  And while it sounds like an interesting game, and I can get it for really cheap nowadays, I'd prefer not to buy it just to build one neighborhood terrain! rolleyes

So would there be anyone out there willing to make a neighborhood for me?

It's a small coastal fishing village type town, so I'd like it to be in the shape of a cove (like a crescent-moon shape).  I'd prefer that it wasn't 100% flat, but I can work with that.  I would like some hills or small mountains, especially along the "edges" of the map.  I'd also like around 1/3 to be covered with water, that being the ocean.  The only other request that I have is for the roads to be somewhat tight, but not too crazy; and for there to be a 5x7 "square" framed by roads in the approximate center of the map, the 5-tile side facing the water.

I would end up uploading this neighborhood, more than likely, after I decorate it, both here and at MTS2.  But if I did upload it, rest assured that I would give all credit where it's due.

Any other questions, feel free to either comment here or shoot me a note.  Thanks in advance! Cheesy
2  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Community / MTS2 Rejects: Oceanside Suites on: August 28, 2008, 09:48:30 pm
Title: Oceanside Suites
Lot Type: Lodging (Island)

Size: 5x6
Price: N/A
Furnished: yes!
Played/Tested: yes!
EP's Needed: Uni, NL, OFB, Pets, SS, BV, FT
SP's Needed: Kitchen & Bath Stuff (if that's the only SP you have, you may need to install this lot using Clean Installer)

So, I have so much of my stuff rejected from MTS2 for the silliest of reasons (or reasons that just flat-out don't exist), that I've decided to do a series here for InSIM's enjoyment! Smiley

This took quite a bit of time and effort to build, trust me.  And it was worth it!  This baby is jam-packed with enough amenities that your Sims won't ever want to leave to explore the island!  The first floor features an indoor swimming pool (complete with hot tub and sauna) as well as a nice restaurant overlooking the sea (complete with bar).  Upstairs there are eight suites, four 1-bedroom (sleeping up to 2 Sims) and four 2-bedroom (sleeping up to 4 Sims)  The beach features grills, a hammock, two campfires ... then of course there's the ocean itself ...

Room Prices: (I don't know why there's a range, they're completely identical)
One-Bedroom: §1,367 - §1,404
Two-Bedroom: §1,582 - §1,613

Reasons for Rejection: "Needs unique architecture" and "Substandard Roofing" (too boxy), as well: "They suite layouts are really quite odd. One would have to walk through a suite to get to another one. It won't work. Please take this to creator feedback for tips on how to polish up this lot." (Completely incorrect, I assure you, each suite has it's own door leading opening to the front walkways)
3  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Residential / MTS2 Rejects: Tiny Townhouse on: April 27, 2008, 07:59:44 am
Title: Tiny Townhouse
Lot Type: Residential Starter

Size: 1x1
Price: §17,212
Furnished: yes!
Played/Tested: yes!
EP's Needed: Nightlife, OFB

So, I have so much of my stuff rejected from MTS2 for the silliest of reasons (or reasons that just flat-out don't exist), that I've decided to do a series here for InSIM's enjoyment! Smiley

As you can see, this is the Tiny Townhouse.  I needed a lot in my game that would be small (and so cheap) but also flexible looking.  Like, it could be stacked one after another to acheive a 'city street' look, or just placed in the middle of nowhere and look okay.  I think I achieved both.

This lot comes fully furnished with basegame-only items.  The only exception to that is the hatchback parked on the curb out front -- there is a driveway under there, believe it or not.  I included the car so that the house would be 100% complete, but also so that it was clear where the driveway piece is.  If you delete the hatchback and buy another car, it'll snap into place just like any other driveway.

As the last screenshot shows, this lot also looks good 'stacked' one after another.  The fence even overlaps!

You will need: Roddyaleixo's 'Invisible Driveway & Extensions' found [here]

Reasons for Rejection: "Needs unique architecture" and "This is pretty much just a Maxis house that was included with the base game."
4  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Dogs / Yorkshire Terrier Mix on: April 10, 2008, 09:36:06 pm
This is my version of one of my favorite dog breeds, the yorkshire terrier, or yorkie.  I think they're not only adorable dogs, but also well-rounded.  However, I couldn't find any uploads that were satisfactory to me, so I made my own.

Unfortunately, the tools for creating pets in TS2 aren't quite powerful enough to get that "yorkie" feel.  The legs are too long, and the fur too short.  So we'll just have to live with a yorkie mix for now.  Smiley

Enjoy!
5  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Lost Game Code! on: September 05, 2007, 10:19:48 pm
I know there's someone out there savvy enough to help me .... Okay, I was downloading all my stuff onto my new computer, when I noticed that I'm missing the booklet (and, hence, the game code) for H&M Stuff.  I am at wit's end here trying to find it -- I read BBB's FAQ thread, but I think EA and/or TS2 have changed their layout since that article was written.  I'm sure not seeing any info about the games, except at the bottom of my profile, and the only thing that does is, when clicked on, takes me to the generic info page of that EP / Stuff pack!  Not very helpful.  That key unlocker program is corrupted.  I even used the system registry thing, to no avail.  Help!  If it helps, I still have complete access to my laptop, on which H&M is still uploaded and running strong, and will stay that way until I get this resolved.
6  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Change Lot Size Cheat? on: August 13, 2007, 09:51:17 pm
I know this information is online somewhere, probably staring me right in the face, but I'll be durned if I can find it.  I've looked here, on MTS2, on SnootySim's awesome list of cheats, even on Sims2Wiki.  No luck.  So:

Does anyone know the cheatcode to change the size of a lot?
7  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Residential / Traditional-Style Farmhouse (for Seasons) on: March 18, 2007, 06:12:25 pm
I live in Virginia (USA), an area rich in heritage and history.  And farmhouses.  Especially in the rural areas (such as the one I live in), old farmhouses are a dime a dozen.  I wanted to recreate that for the Sims, the history combined with just enough modern convenience to make it comfortable.  Wink

The rooms are small, I know.  This is to preserve the authentic, old farmhouse feel.  (Most of these houses were originally hand-made by the very family who was going to live in it, who also gathered their own material and supplied their own labor and everything, so naturally it isn't a monster).  This also has the added benefit of making it cheap enough to be a starter home.

You need Seasons and Nightlife (it includes a driveway).  Other than that, you should be fine.  The absolute worse thing I can think of is that I used a wall or floor that was in one of the other EP's, in which case the game will put another wall up.  If you're like me, the first thing you do is go in and put up your own walls and floors anyway, lol.  I painted it a nice, earthy yellow because Maxis didn't make any good whites.

Title: Old Farmhouse
Size: 2 x 2
Stats: 3 bed, 2 bath
Furnished: no
Price: §18,210

You need: Roddyaleixo's 'Invisible Driveway & Extensions' found [here]

That should be it!  Wink  And yes, those are plots for planting in the back, ten of them.  And that pond is deep enough for fishing.

Edit: okay, so I believe that I didn't make it clear before, so I'll clear it up now.  This house comes with no furniture.  No phones, no lights, no motor cars.  The truck is just there to show you where the driveway is (it being invisible and all), the rest is to give it an actually lived in look.  It does, however, come with the plants.  Basically, what you see in that first screenshot is what you get.
8  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Sim Celebrities / Sophie Monk on: November 12, 2006, 02:18:31 pm
Requested by Ziggyboy here, one of the stars of The Date Movie, Sophie Monk.  I created this using the Pets Bodyshop, but have checked using Clean Installer, and there are no extra meshes in this package.

The technical stuff:

Skintone by Louis @ SimCribbing

Eyes by Helaene @ Helaene.com

The hair, makeup, and clothing are all Maxis originals, and from the EP-less base game.  I figured that Ziggyboy had his own hair in mind to use, and if not there are blonde starlette hairstyles all over InSIM, MTS2, and pretty much any other Sims site.  Same for outfits.  And I really didn't want to make downloading this Sim an ordeal.

I actually created this Sim some time ago, but a little thing I like to call 'real life' got in the way, and it's sat on my desktop for a good week.  My appologies for that.

Edit: if you're stumped for good hair, I suggest this hairstyle from XM Sims2.
9  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Residential / Sim Mansion -- the ultimate in simulated luxury! on: February 16, 2006, 05:44:05 pm
A great mansion, old style, for your Simmies.  Includes three levels (two above ground and one below), three bedrooms, a kitchen and diningroom, a former parlor, a familyroom, a two-car driveway, and two baths.

Please note that this house DOES NOT come furnished!  I've only included some screenshots of furnished rooms to show the home's potential.

This house requires both expansion packs.  I say 'probably' because I'm pretty sure I've included some walls and floors from University.  And I definitely have included objects from Nightlife -- the driveway for one, the fountain for another, etc!  Non-ep owners download at your own risk.

I forgot to write down exactly how much it costs!  It's something around $70,000, though.

Cleaned using CleanInstaller
10  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Women / Sexy Underwear on: February 07, 2006, 07:36:52 pm
I love underwear for the Sims.  Don't ask why, but I do.  However, I'm still on the lookout for the perfect pair for my Sim women -- something sexy, but not kinky.  Like something off a Victoria's Secret commerical -- shows enough to be sexy, but no more.  So, I just made my own!  This is actually the Maxis made black underwear, with the alpha channel edited, nothing else, if you can believe it!  I had a good time making it, hope you enjoy using it!
11  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Mixed Clothing / Eric Tees on: January 20, 2006, 02:12:50 pm
Per Psycotic Rose's request, found here, I have made a bunch of t-shirts featuring a squirrel named Eric.  Or maybe Foamy.  That's all I know, lol.  But here they are, in order from left to right.  fem = female, mel = male, anyone who has read David Brin's Startide Rising will understand why, but it's the way I've been doing things for awhile.

I also included a blank version of both colors for both genders, in case anyone wanted to make their own tees.  Slap Mickey Mouse or South Park on them for all I care, credit for the base tee would be nice but I'm not hunting anyone down! Wink
12  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Skintones / Black Widow Skintone on: January 14, 2006, 06:23:58 pm
A request for Simmlover, a grey skintone with a red hourglass on the stomach.  Sims darken / fade as they grow older (see pic), and females grow an hourglass.  Females are darker than males.  I also have included a non-hourglass skin, great for Drow or other fantasy Sims!

Note: forgot to add, "blackwidow2" has the hourglass, "blackwidow" does not.
13  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Women / Leia's Slave Girl Outfit on: January 08, 2006, 10:24:15 pm
Per request, I've done the outfit Leia wears in Star Wars VI: Return of the Jedi when Jabba's slave girl.  It is actually two outfits, or an outfit and an accessory: the top / jewelry / boots are an outfit, and the loincloth is an accessory (to be found under "Eyeglasses").  For it to work, you'll need the mesh for the loincloth, found here.  Note: because the mesh is an accessory and not an article of clothing, I couldn't lower the waistline.  Sorry!

You need the mesh, link above, and the boots are recolors of a pair of Maxis'.

I think that's it.  Enjoy! Wink
14  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Women / Casual Workout 2 (Pink) on: January 06, 2006, 01:25:57 pm
A pink version of my purple casual workout outfit, which can be found here.

I was dissapointed with the workout outfits that came with the original game. While all are casual and comfortable looking, who works out with a jacket and matching pants? So, I made a more casual look, while still being comfortable. This is actually a combination of a few Maxis' originals -- I just love that shirt! ^^ Anyway, tell me what you think! You'll need a mesh, you can get it here. Note: you'll need to be a member of SimAlot, but I think most people here are, and even if you're not it's free! The mesh, unfortunately, actually has heels, a fact I didn't know until well into the project. They don't look bad, they're just a little 'off'.

Update: The mesh was down, but I found it from its original source, SimChic, who allows you to upload their meshes. So, I'm putting the mesh up, along with their readme.
