Hmmm.... May I ask did you start you game with the Sims cd or by other means?

Sometime in the last year I got a new computer. I dreaded re-installin the Sims2 as I have all EP's and SP's. Anyways, I was wanting to play so I went ahead and installed everything. When I went to start the game however I'm gettin an error message sayin:
"Failed to enumerate any DirectX9 compatible graphics adapters in this system!
Please make sure you have DirectX9 compatible graphics adapter and have installed the latest manufacturer provided driver.
The application will now terminate..."

When I looked up which DirectX I had it said I had 10. I was like, ok so I'll download 9 too. Didn't make a difference.
When I looked for compatibility I found this:

Mine wasn't listed. it's nVidia GeForce 6150 SE. I should also add that it's not a card, but integrated.
When that didn't work I went ahead and pulled my vVidea GeForce 5500 from my old computer (has XP and played SIms2 fine) as it also was not listed above. That didn't work either.

Other than going out and buying a new card is there any other options available to me?

Thanks.  After tryin all day yesterday and half of today it's workin for me too.  I got a new computer awhile back and really was not lookin forward to the re-installin all my sims games so I didn't do it, however lately I've been wantin to play.  So yesterday I hauled out all the cd's, I have all EP's and SP's, and started the process.  Well now that I have that problem fixed on to findin all the mods and downloads I had once upon a time.  Another understakin that I really wasn't lookin forward to .... but there are some must haves to play.

I have just re-installed my Sims 2 after bein away from playing for nearly a year.  I was looking for help on the gettin around the securom stuff.  With MATY being down is there some place else I might be directed to get help with this?  I'd really like to start playing again, but I'm not about to w/o takin care of that part first.

Any advice or direction would be most appreciated.

I was thinking of making a courtroom only to realize that I lacked a few items.  Ok, so all the items .

I looked but didn't see them anywhere, so if they've been done please let me know.

Here are a few of the items that jump out at me for a courtroom:
A gavel.
Judges robe for male/female adult/elder.
Judges desk.  (I know I can fab on up out of a desk and the stage, but I hate the fact you can't cover the stage.)
Stenograph and table/desk (one tile, like the one in the first court pic)
Any other courtoom type item, flags, scales, the in session sign, that would make it look like a courtroom.  

I really like the first and last courtroom pics.  Anyone care to make me a happy brat?

Yes, I was sorta sterotyping.  I know poor doesn't mean dirty, I also know that welfare doesn't mean poor.  

However, I do know that this does happen and that is what I was looking for and was given.

I wanted a welfare trailer trash family and so reqeusted some clothing.  Evlevnz92 was kind enough to create such clothing.

Charlie - Some things you can copy for your own personal use.  Then there are others that the maker locks rendering it incapable of being copied by your average everday Joe/Jane.  This has always made absolutely no sense to me as someone who is going to pirate the game I am quiet sure wouldn't be above hacking their way past the locks.  Thus the person being locked out in effect is the everday Joe/Jane (ie you and I.)  

SD - Seriously, before you go and fork out more money to them (unless you're hiding a money tree somewhere and not sharing), call and see what they can/will do for you.  That is, as long as the game is really yours and can prove it as Marhis said.  If you registered it with EA that would even be better.

That is one of the things I hate when you can't make a copy, if something happens to the original your SOL.  I've always felt that if they make it were we can't copy it, then it should be up to the maker to either replace the original or give you one at a drastically reduced price.  Because you know there will come a time when the original you bought for $30/$40+ is going to beyond use.

I understand there are those who have abused this privilege by pirating and sharing and therefore the masses are made to suffer.

I know that if this was me, I would be on the phone with Maxis/EA to see about some sort of reimbursement and/or exchange.  Even if I didn't get anything out of it they would have gotten an earful from me (not the underlings, but the higher ups.  If I don't get an answer that satisfies, then I go higher on the food chain as generally those low on the totem pole don't have much leverage to do anything.)

There is one other option I might do, but that would have to be an extreme case.  Don't ask, I'm sure some already know and have done it themselves.

I also prefer guys with short hair and like men the good ones are few and far between.  

My sims thank you for giving them one more good short hair so they all don't look alike.  They are wondering as others have asked if it is/can/will be made for the younger generations?  Yah if it is.  Eh, ok they are happy to at least they have this one if it's not.

This memory fix is just when the social worker comes and takes the child yes?  Is there/does anyone know of one where you can volunarily give child up for adoption and not have them taken?

I have this problem at MTS2.  At every other site I don't have a problem only there.  I can't even get on the forum there to ask about it, so any help on the problem here would be appreiciated by me also.
