I just turned the music of with the in-game settings thingy. Now I can listen to my radio while building a house and loading the game etc, without the extremely annoying music.
Sadie, if you press a key those movies will quit, like the movie that loads when starting the game.
I use my space bar a lot.

I kinda need your help. You see, just yesterday, I got my new pc.
After installing every single Sims 2 EP and SP there is out there, I put in my back/up, so that I still have my contest-sims.
The only issue I now have, is that my shadows and refresh rate are still grayed out, as in: I can't change them. I know for sure that this new pc can handle it, so I'm guessing it has something to do with me putting my old files in, and maybe overwriting a file which now makes my game think that my pc still can't handle that.
I think it's a file in my Config. folder, but I wanted to check with some people who know more about this, before I end up killing my game.
Sooo, any idea's on how to fix this? I thought that maybe I could just delete the Config. folder, but I don't know if the game will automatically generate a new one. So yeah, any help would be greatly appreciated. ^^

Saving a camer-angle is done using Ctrl + 4 to 0 (either one of those). Then when you enter cameraman mode, you can press 4 to 0 again and you'll jump back into the saved position.
You can't use 1 to 3 because those are used for with which speed, time passes in the game.

You know how in the little books that come with cd's, the artist(s) always thank a whole load of people?
When I haven't thought of a name before my game is loaded and the sim created, I just pull those out and choose one of those names. ^^

You could also type your text first, than select that text, and than insert a link using the earthglobe-thingy. Works the same way.

Is this is also compatible with older EP's? I only have up to Freetime at the moment, but would love to use this hack.

Thanks!! besides the playpen, the curtains, the baby-carriage, the toddler-chair and the bouncer it's all maxis-meshes, and only the crib and changing table use non-maxis recolors.

Yeah, I put the whole house including the sims living in it in the lot catalogue, and placed the house in Pleasantview. I personally had no issues at all with my game or that family afterwards.
