Chapter Five - Part II: ‘Three Lightening Bolts Worth of Goodness’

I won't lie, it was pretty sudden when Amar moved in, but then we had been progressing rapidly. I quickly discovered why we were such a perfect match. Amar loves to cook as much as I do, and he’s working in the culinary field too, though he’s slightly more advanced than me. Only slightly. He also aspires to become ridiculously wealthy. He couldn’t be more perfect!


Of course, Amar’s delightful presence in my household prompted yet another spree. I couldn’t let him wear that awful distressed jeans outfit.


Just some tweaking here and there, plus a haircut and now he really did look like my dream guy. I was beginning to wonder if this all really was a dream. This couldn’t be my life?! I hadn’t even heard from ESG since the beak-nose incident. I was a little suspicious.


Ok, Amar was just a bunch of –very attractive- pixels, but boy, could he cook. He cooked my worries about ESG away. No ‘illusion’ could cook this well. The best grilled cheese sandwich I’ve ever had.  


I guess… I decided I didn’t want to wait any longer… So I popped the question over our grilled cheese sandwiches. I was stupidly nervous, but excited.

With no time to waste, Amar wanted to get married right then and there. Who was I to refuse? Of course I had prepared for this day, and had a beautiful (purple) dress already. We married on the beach, making use of the beautiful beach scenery, but I didn’t go anywhere near the water.


Amar gave me a pretty good wedding gift. What was it? The gift of youth. All of the recent drama has really aged me.


Then came the inevitable, but I was more excited than nervous. Or are they the same thing? Amar was calm and offered me assurance. I was personally worried about what it was like… As pixels? Was this real?  


It felt like it.


Amar was beginning to make think that maybe, just maybe, all this was real.

Chapter Five - Part I: Downtown Dates

When you're alone and life is making you lonely, you can always go
Downtown...
Which is where I went. To the newest clothing store, of course. Just look who I met there. Three lightening bolts worth of goodness.


Downtown
 No finer place for sure
Everything's waiting for you
You got that right. His name's Amar, and he's been waiting for me...!


You may find somebody kind to help and understand you
Someone who is just like you
Mmm, he was fine.


Forget all your troubles, forget all your cares...
Oh yeah, we did a lot of that.


The lights are much brighter there
Why didn't I think of this before?


Just listen to the rhythm of a gentle bosanova
You'll be dancing with them too before the night is over
What more do I need to say?


So maybe I'll see you there...?
A date? Absolutely!


Happy again...
I'll be looking my best, too.

I do! So did Amar, apparently. It just so happened to be the very Diner Marylena and I used to work at. The hotdog smell made me nauseous. And he thought it would be alright to bring his croney mates?! Ah, no.
