I have applications but no .exe files, aside from the uninstall files. This is running on Win7. I hit the launcher, and it looks like it is starting to load and then just completely stops and bounces back to the desktop. Have never encountered this before in all the crashes this game has had - and there has been more than any other game I have every played ... probably combined.

I was playing along, the game crashed - which it has done before. Went into Body shop, played around a bit, then tried to relaunch the game. It will not launch. It creates an EA Games/Sims 2 folder in Public Documents instead of linking to the My Docs EA Games folder. I delete the folder, but when I try to relaunch the game, it recreates that folder in Public Docs, but won't launch. The Sims 2 folder in EA Games/Public Documents folder will not populate with any other folders. Is the game totally trashed or is there a solution - short of total reinstall.

Replaced Insimenator Objects with DEST and it seems to be getting worse. Created a couple of sims and the game locked up with them. This is the type of error message I'm getting with them ...

it's all heiroglyphics to me, but the game is basically unplayable. Didn't have this problem before I put on Apartment Life.

The Insimenator Apartment Life objects. so yes. should I dump that and use another AP Insimenator version?

I had removed Sims 2 from my computer for several months (needed a break) and just recently re-installed it all, including the Apartment Life expansion. Now, about every minute or 2, I get the following error message:

Controller - age #?? (the question mark are numbers that vary depending on which family I'm playing)

bad gosub tree number

...

And then it says where the file is located - in logs in the documents folder.

Any idea what this means and how to fix it?

Well, I installed FreeTime. Had moved my downloads folder over to another drive, installed the game, moved the content back into the folder. Got the new Insimenator, unzipped it and moved it in as well, and nothing. It does not show up.

Any suggestions, or should I just go ahead and move the content off onto an external drive and just delete the whole game, all the expansions and never look back? Can you tell - I am a little frustrated.

I was mistaken. It works, and is just dandy there are a couple of sims that if I try to give them that career, the game crashes, which is odd, but oh well.

Well, it's all good now Thank you all for the advice. I used the hack conflict detector, and only removed one hack, which had to do with private school clothes. While at it, I updated Inteen, and next thing I knew, everything was working fine. Thank you all so much. You have been a HUGE help

Well, I do appreciate the help, but I am not seeing anything that allows me to plan or change outerwear. I have put in every dresser in the game and no such options exist. As for the Insimenator, I do not see that option either when I plan an outfit. I did get the latest Insimenator and there are still only 7 options - everyday, formal, pajamas, swimwear, underwear, gym clothes and maternity. The Hall stand only has three options - everyday, undies and PJs. This seems to be a lost cause.

what version of the Insimenator are you using. I do not get that option to change outerwear with the version I have. Not using BV, either.
