Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them was worth the time it took to view. I'm hoping to see Guardians of the Galaxy 2 some time in the near future but I've also managed to see Dr. Strange. Very enjoyable! Looking forward to Ragnarok, that's for sure.

A Safe Haven / General Discussion / Quick question for y'all.

Recently I installed all of my games, including Bon Voyage which I really love, onto my tower again and have been enjoying the game once more but the tower has been moved back to my bedroom desk in order to save space on my desk out here in the living room. No problem, but I can't always play when I'd like to due to it being removed from the public area of the house. Nowadays, I have a laptop computer which I use quite a bit and actually prefer to the old tower at times, aside from missing XP like mad. The lappie uses Windows 8.1 and I'm considering trying to install my games on it and just using it for game play and internet. Here is where the question comes in for those of you who have stuck with me so far; has anyone here already done this and if so, how does the game work for you? Or, does it work at all? Thank you for any answers which might come my way!
Edited to add: the game installed fine but the stooopid patches won't work so I can't put anything on it beyond the base game!!! I am furious... To say the least.

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Re: What is the size of your 'Downloads' Folder ?

I'm being very selective about what goes into my downloads folder this time around, so far I only have about four and a half gigs in it. I need to go through and delete out some funky arse hairs though, somehow the meshes seem to have come up missing and some have some really weird looking textures that look like something which came out of a baby's diaper after eating strained peas. 'Nuff said.

Again, watched it on DVD, but I got to see the Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies extended edition. I'd seen the regular version but this one broke my heart even more. Damn you, Peter Jackson... I'm hoping I get to see Alice Through the Looking Glass when it comes out on the 27th of this month, but not holding my breath because my husband won't wanna let me go with my best buddy to see it; I'll more than likely have to wait to see it on DVD because the expense of seeing it in the theater is kinda cost-prohibitive. It's cheaper to just buy it when it comes out even if I have to miss out on what everyone else is raving/griping about.

Listening to the sirens of ambulances, police and fire vehicles going by my house on their way out to yet another emergency. Gotta love living on the main drag in town but hey, at least we aren't renting any more! Yeah, we have a mortgage but no one can tell us how many cats we can own, whether or not we can plant flowers in our yard or we can't repaint the interior walls if the fancy to do so hits us in the butt.

I've got Ccleaner and it didn't do jack. I did, however, finally find the version of Clean Installer and put it on without any problems. It only took me ages to find it amongst the literally hundreds of disks of content I have... But, I can say that I am once again happy playing my game!

miros1, go for Armour Thyroid if you do have hypothyroid disease, it's naturally derived and helps boot your levels to optimum and keeps them there. I do so much better on it and I've suffered this crap for half of my life now. Good luck and I hope you begin to feel better soon.

I finally got back into playing Sims 2, even installed Bon Voyage and am loving it. But, I have a problem. The Sims 2 Clean installer program wouldn't allow me to uninstall it when I wiped my games from the computer years ago and now I have the newest version the maker came out with before she passed but it won't install because I still can't get the old one outta my program files. Does anyone have any expertise/advice on how to do this which doesn't involve an atom bomb, hard radiation, grenades, or other weapons of mass mayhem? I've got SimPE up and running, have used it a few times but the Clean Installer is just so much better when I wish to edit a house I've made and have a mind to upload, knowing that some folks want a clean version. To be frank (instead of Leroy), I dunno if I can even use SimPE for that purpose. Any suggestions are welcome, so long as you don't tell me to flush my digestive tract with Draino... Oh, and I hope the holidays which folks celebrate have been good ones for all of you!
