it was working perfectly fine over the weekend, but for the past two days it wont work.  It loads to the neighborhood selection screen, and when i click on a neighborhood it acts normal. but then the music fades out and the mouse stops turning - which isn't abnormal because the game always does that- but then the mouse turns to the normal white one and it exits the game. Body shop wasn't working either.  So i took out my newest downloads, which didn't work. but then i took out the new default replacements i installed (cell phones, pet eyes, and game systems) and so now body shop works, but the game still doesn't get past the neighborhood loading screen.  Then i took out the entire downloads folder, and still no dice.
any suggestions?
i could re-install the game, but i haven't saved any back up files in a while so i would loose tons of my sims, lots, and the such. and i really dont want to do that. so are there any other options you could think of?

EDIT: i just realised that there are bodyshop files located in my C:\Documents and Settings\xgreydovex\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2 folder....is that a problem?  I dont remember them being there before.

EDIT2: never mind everyone, i managed to fix it myself after i looked at another thread.....turns out those bodyshop files actually were the problem.

My computer was disconnected due to disciplinary reasons, but it was put together again with the exception of speakers and external hard drive for homework. Today when i went to plug in the speakers and the external hard drive, the sound wont work (Ive tried headphones and speakers) and my sims game is acting funkatated.  I have all expansions except bon voyage and I have the family and glamour stuff packs.

The first time i tried to load it in windowed mode it crashed after going into Pleasantview, and in full screen in wouldn't go past the loading screen...but then when i tried windowed again it let me into Riverblossom and into a lot, but there's an error message that pops up every flippen two seconds and i was scared to push the delete button, so i kept hitting restart because the cancel button didn't do anything but bring up the same message again.  It seems that it pops up for every sim present on the lot, because as soon as a neighbor was greeted error messages popped up for her too.  The only time it doesn't pop up is when i tell them to do something.

So can anyone help me or point me in the right direction?  Its quite irritating because the error messages make it impossible to play.

This is my pilot episode of Madhouse, about a teen asylum and focuses primarily on five patients. Whether or not it becomes a series (which its supposed to be) depends on the feedback I get...so I hope you like! And it is also the first video i have every uploaded..so i know its not the best, but im still learning, so please dont be mean. Contructive critism is appreciated though. Any tips or anything else would be great too.  

im sorry if this is in the wrong place, i looked for somewhere to put this and i figured other movie makers would know the answer...

i have tried to get my videos at really good quality, for example the series Off Campus and Pleasantview high by katzombie (can be found on youtube), and i even put it up to "high uncompressed", but it still is a bit blocky and blurry...i was wondering if im just missing something or if your supposed to use a special camera or something else to take your shots.

i have my first chapter of my new story almost ready to go...and then i went to the Story content thread to double check i abided by the rules...and low and behold i do have a considerable amount of blood and violence and obscence language. the language is an pretty easy fix...but im not sure how to tone down the story line without losing any of its severity or whatever.  you dont really see the violence in the pictures, but its described in the narrator lines and dialouge. and as for the blood, i have a tub with it...actually filled with it...and some walls and carpets recolored (not by me though) to look like there was a bloody fight there....im not entirely sure what to do...any suggestions?

i have looked to see if there were already threads about this or help guides her and on MTS2...but i havent found any so either im blind or most people dont have the same problem as i do.  anyway,
none of my downloaded cars work, as in they dont show up in buy mode.  and most of the houses and lots ive downloaded dont show up in neighborhood view either...is there some kind of limit to how many houses you can have in the bin at one time?
it would be greatly appreciated if someone could help...and the answer is probably something so simple too >.< argh
