1  Retired Creators / Renaissance Gal / Addendum! on: May 07, 2008, 04:49:36 am
Same thing, add Maxis dark ripped jeans shorts.  Everyday & Athletic, same mesh.  Barefoot, perfect for gardening or lounging about the house.

Go go go!
2  Retired Creators / Renaissance Gal / Regular Underpants for Renaissance Girl + Shorts in Second Post on: May 07, 2008, 04:19:19 am
My poor girls didn't have much in the way of regular undies.

So, I made some!  They can also be pajamas, swimwear, or athletic.

These just use the basic Maxis textures from Teen Style Stuff Pack, in Pink&White (shown), Purple&Green, Blue with Cherry Pattern, Light Blue with Heart Pattern, Blue&Purple, + 1 Bonus color Black for your goth girls (shown).

All 6 textures are conveniently packaged into one delicious .rar file for your downloading convenience.

Features:
-Casual opaque camisole tank top
-Comfy brief underpants
-Bare feet (no heels!)

Uses the original RenGal undies mesh found here: http://www.insimenator.org/showthread.php?t=40486

Also, thought I might add: because it is made from Maxis textures, these items have a free upload policy.
As long as it's on a FREE site (completely free, no pay content) & you may upload this recolor as part of a packaged Sim.
Link back here if you feel like giving me credit, because it's all Maxis anyways I really do not care.
Obey Warlokk's rules about the mesh.
3  Simmers' Paradise / Sims Stories / A fathers Sacrifice. The End Tribute added on: October 08, 2006, 02:22:30 am
I loved this story.  The ending was too sad!  Sad

Anyways, I was watching the video you put up afterwards... and I don't want to seem too critical, but I do have some wisdom to impart.
-----For your next video, remember the art of cut and clip.  Although it's the same scene, it doesn't need to be taken all in one linear shot.
-----When you do camera spins, test it out first.  Pause the game and do a couple of test spins to see where they need to be to land in the exact center of the shot.  Then, unpause, start action, and spin like crazy.  It's a good effect if you can pull it off (and I did see one or two where you had pulled it off rather well).
-----Match the intensity of the song.  For the song you were working with, I would've liked to see longer scenes and more fades... it went too quickly.
-----You can never go wrong with atmosphere shots, especially setting suns and rain.  Not all of the video always needs to center on a human subject, nor does it need to be centered... you'd be surprised how effective a shot that cuts the subject's face in half can be!

Anyways, long story short, I'd like to work with you if you ever decide to do a video again, you show alot of talent in what you're trying to portray with it... so send a PM sometime.
4  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Eyes / Realistic Sharingan Eyes-- UPDATED, check it out! on: September 28, 2006, 06:47:00 am

Thank you clowlord - I suspected it had to do with Japanese animation, games, or comics.  But I am singularly ignorant about these things other than the can't avoid knowing it stuff (e.g., Akira, Furi Kuri, The Big-O, Lodoss Tou Senki, Shin Seiki Evangelion, Suchîmubôi, Memorîzu, Meikyû monogatari, Kagaku ninja tai Gatchaman, Serial Experiments: Lain, etc.) I can hardly tell the difference between manga and hentai >_<

Some anime is better than others.  Check out Naruto (where I'm getting inspiration for all of this crap Azn)  At best, it's a decent way to kill time, but it's also very easy to get into.  It has some good characters and some of the fight scenes are quite well-done (tournament fights, Hokage vs. Orochimaru, Naruto vs. Sasuke on the waterfall).  Because I like watching mind-numbing ninja action.

You are right, sharingan MUST only be with red eyes. And about your Byakugan eyes... will it include veins for the face as accesories or something?

Maybe eventually, probably not right away... lol, I'm not THAT good.  I am TRYING to make the veins before I release the set, though.  I have the Hyuuga forehead seal (the green tribal X) for sure, if nothing else.

More colors kinda defeats the purpose of Sharingan, lol, but I suppose I could humour you all and do it anyways.  I made some Byakugan eyes that I'm going to upload as well.
7  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Eyes / Realistic Sharingan Eyes-- UPDATED, check it out! on: September 26, 2006, 05:42:29 am

So, being the complete Narutard that I am... I've mad a custom Sharingan eyeset.  I know it's been done before, but I've gone into greater depth with the project, and plus the cartoony ones greatly bother me.  I thought I'd make something that I can enjoy in MY game, but I'm willing to share.

The genetic is the red without levels, as shown on Sasuke there.  Sims can be born with this eyecolor.

The rest of the levels are in the form of masks, found under Costume Makeup section.  I've done all 3 levels plus Itachi's Kaleidoscope with a black center and with the flame center.  Sims cannot be born with this eyecolor, but you can put the different levels on as they get stronger or whatever.

I may consider uploading Sim Itachi and Sim Sasuke.

Included in the package are the genetic red Sharingan eyes, pictured above, PLUS these masks (found in Costume Makeup section):

Level One Sharingan

Level 2 Sharingan

Level 3 Sharingan

Kaleidoscope Sharingan (Itachi)

Kaleidoscope with Fiery center (Dramatic Itachi)

They're highly detailed and took me several hours to do.  They'd probably be pretty good for some cosplay or movies or stories or... something, anyways.

***UPDATED!!!***
The Sharingan eyes are now available in Genetic Variety mode!  They are:
Sharingan - Game treats these as normal CC, will favor them over any default eye color and other CC is given a 50/50 chance to show up genetically.  IF YOU WANT THIS OPTION, KEEP THE SHARINGAN GENETIC THAT CAME IN THE FIRST PACK!  This is included so that you can download all of them and put them in your game one by one to see the difference in how they pass down through generations of Sims.

Recessive Sharingan - Stong default eyes (brown) and CC will show up over these.  Family history is key in getting these eyes to show up, someone with Sharingan ancestors will get the Sharingan default eyes easier.
Super Recessive Sharingan -  Game will favor all eyes over these.  Family history is key in getting eyes to show up in later generations.
Hyper Recessive Sharingan -  Game will favor all eyes over these.  Only shows up in offspring if parents both have Sharingan!

The Sharingan genetic in the first pack is named 2efc7d30_xs2x.package  This is what you need to delete to install any of the genetic Sharingan files.
ONLY INSTALL ONE GENETIC SHARINGAN AT A TIME!
ONLY INSTALL ONE GENETIC SHARINGAN AT A TIME!

The reason I did this is to further emulate the exclusivity of the Sharingan genetic in the Uchiha clan, as specified by the anime.  Try it out, it's pretty interesting!  It is only the one eye color as shown on Sasuke, the other eyes are still masks and therefore not included in the Genetic Variety pack.  Download the Sharingan pack for the masks, but do not install the genetic eye file, 2efc7d30_xs2x.package, in the Sharingan pack with any of the files in the GV pack.

This addition is EXCLUSIVE to InSIM, ie. not posted on MTS2.

Yep, Roxxy and Duschenka experimented with this a lot on the Original Bodyshape set using Skirt bottom separates with top textures attached... works well with any Top separate that has cut-out areas in the alpha as well, since the Top texture will overlay whatever the bottom texture applys... so you can do vests over sweaters, for example.  There's a bunch of examples at MTS2, they were created long before I set up my Workshop here... Wink

Yeah, I think I remember seeing those once, the Roxxy dresses... although at that time there wasn't a whole set of awesome nude tops meshes, so it all looked really weird.

I dunno, I'd post more of my created content (because I think most people would enjoy it or atleast be able to add to their collection and use every now and then) but there's so few things I've got that are actually 100% mine.  I tend to borrow textures or use the crap that comes with Photoshop.  :sad3:   Because I suck.

Just had another thought: If we could figure out how to convert a full-body outfit mesh to a bottom mesh, we could go totally wild with that idea.

The bottom "color" section and the bottom alpha will overlap into the top half of the mesh if the separate top is colored alpha-black/nude.  In fact, the bottom half layers over the top half in most cases.

One of the Marvine/BBB body-builder bottom-half meshes overlaps into the top mesh.  I can't remember which one, I found it by accident.

Here's what I've found:

You know those wonderful nude bottoms meshes that Warlokk provided us with?
Yeah, those.  There's a whole whopping 5 of them (including Maxis size nude), as opposed to 9(+) tops.

Warlokk also provided us with nude recolours of all of the tops meshes, if you know where to look.

If you do a full-body outfit recolour of one of the nude-mesh bottoms, you can use the nude recolour of the tops meshes to select the top size.

If that makes ANY SENSE AT ALL.

But that's what I do, yay.

You'd think that, if you're able to show Maxis-made hidden clothing and collections in CAS by typing the cheatcode... you should be able to encode a custom collection to hide the same way.

But then, there's the problem of how will you recolour it?

I don't know, I don't trust myself to use SimPE without inadvertently doing SOMETHING that will make my game explode.  Kaboom.  I suppose I could always tool around and see if I figure anything out.  Maybe it'll be useful somewhere or another.

Warlokk, you should ask Squinge.  It seems like he'd be the type of person who's able to do useful little stuff like that.
