1  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Buzz / Re: Sim 3 Bodyshapes on: May 07, 2009, 03:36:14 pm
I wonder just how many teens really could be bothered to spend their precious time playing the game, and is all this teen thing could just be wishful thinking by EA. and I wonder just what the ratio is for teen and adult in playing the game.
This teen thing has always puzzled me because all the teens I know have far to many other distractions I really don't know of many that sit down and play computer games.

I've been playing The Sims since I got the first one was like ten. And most of the other teenagers I know play The Sims 2 currently or at least have played it. So... I'd say a lot of them play it. Yeah.

I'll make someone totally dysfunctional. An unlucky, neurotic, hopeless romantic loner with commitment issues. And try to give them the happiest life possible. I do love a challenge, I do.

On the one hand? I do want more body sliders and such so I can fine-tune my Sims' bodies. On the other hand I suppose I'm just glad they actually put in a body slider at all instead of just having "skinny" and "slightly less skinny" options for the females and "skinny" and "skinny with belly" for the males at basegame.

I hate to piddle on your parade, but a lot of the people in Oblivion are quite ugly. And every NPC of the same race looks kinda samey. And they all have really huge faces. While a lot of the scenery looks quite pretty, I don't want my Sims looking like Oblivion people.
5  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Buzz / what would be your first request for the sims3 if custom content is created? on: October 13, 2008, 01:35:05 pm
I'll want lots, as my house building skills amount to "make large square, furnish, hurrrrrr", and the Maxis housing either sucks or isn't the right size/cost for my family.

On the one hand, some of the new things look really nice. I'm lovin' the dynamic body sliders and customisable hair colours.

On the other hand, I'm a little worried about this "whole neighbourhood running at once" thing. From a gameplay point of view, how am I gonna keep track of all my families at once? What if I just want a nice quiet game with a new couple without having to worry about the rest of the neighbourhood growing old and dying? And from a technical standpoint, my computer chugs at -one- household. How am I gonna run a whole bloody neighbourhood?
7  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Missimg Maxis Objects (Not corrupted, just gone) on: January 14, 2008, 04:20:46 pm
I've not got much CC except hair and skin, so I don't think it's that. If there's no other solution I'll reinstall after copying as you suggested.
8  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Missimg Maxis Objects (Not corrupted, just gone) on: January 14, 2008, 02:33:26 pm
ETA: The topic title should be "missing", I haven't quite figured out how to alter topic titles.

I recently installed The Sims 2 and all the expansions on a new computer, but I've noticed that the female tuxedo from Glamour Life Stuff is missing. I'm not sure if I'm missing anything else as this object stands out and I noticed the lack of it right away.

All the rest of my GLS clothes are there (As far as I can tell), and I've already tried replacing the objects.package with the one from my disk.

So a few questions:

1) Is there anything else I can do about it?

2) If reinstalling GLS is my only option, will it affect my files if I uninstall then reinstall it without opening the game in between?
9  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Another user able to download, how?? on: January 05, 2008, 03:01:59 pm
Have you tried giving her user ID admin privileges? That should let her download things (User settings should be around the control panel somewhere, I'll find more specific directions if you require them)

It may not be exactly what you're looking for, but if that doens't work you could try and round up all your adult items into one folder and remove it from downloads when she's coming over to play, then put it back in when she's gone.
10  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Another Jump Bug Thread on: January 05, 2008, 02:58:00 pm
As you may see from the title, I have a jump bug. I've just installed the game on this computer with expansions all the way up to Seasons and the Glamour Life Stuff pack.

Since I normally make my own neighbourhoods, I decided to take a look around Pleasantview and I started playing The Burbs after furnishing one of the Maxis houses. Long story short, whenever I direct them to sleep they jump. The only way around this is to make John and Jennifer Woohoo as they then sleep after that with no problem, but poor Lucy does not have such an option Sad

They're both Maxis beds, one's a double and one's a single. I've taken a look at the error log but it doesn't mention any mods. I've attached said error log to the post, can any of you sim wizards help me?
11  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Buzz / What would you like to see In Sims3 on: January 02, 2008, 06:09:29 am
I want the choice to change aspirations at every stage change past teen as opposed to having go through university to get "life experience" (I'm aware I can change with the InSimenator manually, but I'd still like the feature). And new aspirations, maybe some age specific aspirations as well.

I say that because I'm amused by the idea of an Anarchy aspiration that sees sims wanting to make enemies, woohoo with married sims and kick over flamingos, but I get the feeling most sims players wouldn't want their sim to stay like that permenantly, and so could reason that after one life stage the sim "matures" into another aspiration.

Or unlockable aspirations, for example the aforementioned Anarchy aspiration would only be available if you aged up at while your aspiration was in red.
12  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Sim City Societies on: January 02, 2008, 06:02:57 am
Just out of interest, does anyone know if Simcity Societies has SecuROM on it? I was given it for Christmas and installed it without thinking about EA's dubious copy protection methods, though I haven't had any problems (So I suppose the reason I want to know is cause it means I might be able to install BV without fear).

Although I know it's not as complex as Sim City, I quite enjoy seeing what the cities look like. I like the authority cities because then the little scrollbar at the bottom starts reading "Pagecaek is watching you... you love Pagecaek...", and I feel the cities have more "character" than the Simcity ones, which I guess was the point.
13  Simmers' Paradise / Sims 2 Pictures / Pretty Sims - Post ALL your beautiful females HERE! on: December 30, 2007, 07:04:45 pm
This is Nell Hyde Smiley

She was born in-game, I'm quite happy with the way she turned out. She's still a teen, I'm almost scared to age her incase she isn't quite so pretty when she's older.
14  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Buzz / What would you like to see In Sims3 on: December 29, 2007, 09:43:21 am
Not necessarily more stuff - just more "good" stuff.

I want Sims to get ill and possibly die, along with genetic illnesses (e.g. the children of a sim with a heart problem would be more likely to develop it) and STDs (Or, as Maxis would likely end up calling them, "Woohoo Sickness").

It'd also be nice to have the jobs tied more into the Sims lives, for example child sims coming home knowing a few classmates and a teacher, who would be a sim a few stages into the education track, while a uni sim would meet playable sims further up the track as professors. Following the sims to work/school and watching them interact with their coworkers would also be nice (Office romance!).

Though admittedly that would mean each job level woould need to have something special about it, so maybe changing the job system so that although different levels on the same general "track" have different skill or degree requirements, there would be a certain advantage to letting Sims stay at their current level. I'd also like to see job interviews, so that when a siim is ready to move up they can apply to do so.

I'd also like a change in the personality system, as a lot of the options are about putting points into two equally viable options (e.g. "Serious" and "Playful"), so I'd prefer if either you could use as many or as little points as you like or if they set it up like pet personalities.

I'd then like them to replace the capped personality points with "aptitute" points, like having an aptitude for artistic skills, studying, cooking or building things. Of course this would involve changing the skill system as well, because although there could be a counter of how creative the sim is skills would be seperate (Because being able to write well doesn't mean you can play guitar), and the same goes for practicing recipes and learning how to build and repair different objects.

Plus more varied aspirations, with the ability to pick a "Major" and "Minor" aspiration (Which reminds me - university minors).

...And to support this all, better AI :smt120
15  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / What's your TS2 New Year's Resolutions? on: December 28, 2007, 06:40:16 pm
1. Clear out all the hacks I have that don't work or aren't relevant
2. Clear out all the clothes and furniture and recolours I don't use
3. Take a Sim through university without cheats <_<
4. Explore the game more
5. Learn to mesh and recolou
6. Learn to create mods
7. Create a legacy family or generally a nice big Sims story
8. And all this without letting it eat up all my study time D:
