1  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Paysite Discussion Thread on: June 25, 2007, 12:35:17 am
I've never used a paysite, let alone even seen one.  I found out about InSim and MTS2 by word of mouth.
2  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Stupid SimMasters...@sims2.com..Grrr! on: June 25, 2007, 12:32:29 am
I've had a BBS experience everyone!  I asked where a certain topic was and a mod told me that "It wasn't his fault that I couldn't f***ing read."  I told him that it wasn't my fault that he couldn't f***ing spell, and of course he threw a little temper tantrum about that.  LOL.  Now I can relate. Tongue

5  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / rar. hair styles apparently activated but with glitched up graphics on: May 06, 2007, 08:50:32 pm

Custom hair needs a mesh. Go to where you downloaded the hair and in the post the creator should link you to where you can get the mesh required. Once you have the mesh in your game the hair will show up. Smiley

Alright. Thanks a bunch Cheesy
6  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / is there some kind of hack for my sims to get another chance to get their kids back on: May 06, 2007, 01:19:12 pm
I would just get an anti social worker hack to prevent that from happening again.  There's a nice one on MTS 2.Smiley
7  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / rar. hair styles apparently activated but with glitched up graphics on: May 06, 2007, 01:14:40 pm
I have downloaded the neccessary program for extracting rar. files, but my rar. hair, when selected, appears as an invisible blob where the hair style should have normally been.  Does anyone know how I would fix this?

That's awful. Sad  I've actually had a similar thing happen on a particular forum just because I had given my opinion on one of those "serious discussions".
9  Simmers' Paradise / Mac-Users Only Peer Support / Skintone downloads not working; thing is, one of my skins is on: April 25, 2007, 08:43:58 am

I'm not sure I have understood: you mean you put your custom downloads unzipped? I mean, with extension .zip instead of .package?
In that case, are those not-working new skins with .rar extension?

If I understand this correctly, then custom stuff works even if unzipped (I didn't know, but somehow it may be). That would explain your problem completely: "zip" and "rar" are compressed files, not the regular ones (which have a .package extension instead); while Mac OS natively supports zip compression, it doesn't do the same with rar compression.
Solution is to uncompress these files.

None of the downloads are rar files or package files.  I don't know what I've done wrong; I have asked this question on MTS 2 as well, and one of the creators suggested that I take a look at their faq titled "Custom content not showing up? READ THIS!", but it only told me to click "Enable custon content" in the game options, which I have already done.

All of the skins are zip files, but only one is working.  I was hoping that someone here had experienced the same problem and be able to help me.

I'm such a computer dummy, LOL.  I took the files out of the folder that they came in, THEN put them in the downloads folder.  The downloads are working perfectly now.

Apparently no one has a clue as to what I'm talking about.  And to keep this topic from being eventually deleted, I have also downloaded a skin tone from InSim this morning, and this one hasn't shown up either.  This has been very frustrating, because I have 1 good working skintone with no problems whatsoever.  Any help at all would be appreciated.

I have downloaded the CEP package manual installation from MTS 2, and I did as I was instructed in the Mac manual.  I put the color package in the "Sims 3D" folder.  But three of my skins that I have downloaded are not appearing.  But a previously downloaded skin is:brain: They are all zip files, and all of my downloads, be it game mods to eye recolors, are working perfectly, so long as they are zip files, but my new skins aren't.  I am postitive that they are mac friendly, I checked them thoroughly before I downloaded.  Did I not install them properly?Sad

14  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Is it difficult to make these mods? on: March 31, 2007, 09:08:22 pm
For example, the hair mods, the global mods, color changing, exc...  It looks so difficult.  How long did it take you to make all this?
15  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Buzz / What would you like to see In Sims3 on: March 31, 2007, 08:52:08 pm
I have read several rumors about The Sims 3.  They'll make one eventually, just as they made the Sims 2.
