6  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Neighbourhood disappeared! on: October 15, 2008, 01:40:10 pm
Yesterday I was playing my legacy family in a custom neighbourhood, I saved the game as I normally do and exited.
Today I ran the game and went to select the neighbourhood, but it's completely disappeared off the list.
I checked in my documents and the files for the neighbourhood are still there and look normal.
But I ran simPE and although the neighbourhood appears on the browser it is called 'unknown' and says it was created yesteday at 19:30 :|
Have I lost the neighbourhood completely? Or is there something I can do?
7  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Apartment Life.. is it worth it? / What goes where?? on: October 14, 2008, 12:18:35 pm
It's quite good, although I wouldn't say it was one of the best EPs. There is a version of the insimentor that will work with apartment life.

It is an actual expansion pack. Like I said it's not that great, the apartments are quite cool though. And there's witches and the ability to network between sims.

And I didn't think it mattered which order you put them in, but I could be wrong.

Are you using default townies?  If so, you could post the picture and someone will recognize her.  But if you deleted all those and made new townies, you are pretty much out of luck.

Um, I'm not sure.
She's not one of the common ones.
9  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Downloads on: October 13, 2008, 05:35:09 pm
Unzip the file (right click and click 'extract files' you will need WinRAR to do this). It should then be a package file which you will need to install. If you double click on it, it will pop up with a box, click install and the sim should appear in your game. You don't need to put it in any folder.

When you're downloading items, you also need to unzip the files and then place the files in your downloads folder. If you don't have a downloads folder then simply create one, it must be called 'Downloads' in order for the items to appear in your game.

Hope this is correct/I explained it clearly enough.

My legacy founder married a townie whose surname I never noted. I'm attempting to make a family tree which will include the surname's of all the spouses. Is there a way I can find out her maiden name?

Sophia also has a twin sister called Amelie who I don't have any pictures of as a young adult.
12  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / No headlines on: February 16, 2008, 12:03:11 pm
I've had bon voyage for a long time, but only just sent some sims on holiday. Everything was going fine, but after a while the headlines (things they're talking about/thinking above their heads) just disappeared. Anyone else had this happen or know I can fix it?
13  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Glitch...? on: January 30, 2008, 11:51:41 am
Thanks for the help.
I went through the program files last night and reaslied that some of the folders under Seasons were empty. So I uninstalled and reinstalled Seasons and everything appears to be working fine now.

Sorry if this has already been answered, but I couldn't find anything to help in my search.

The other day I installed the Teen Style Stuff pack, the first time it was installing my computer crashed and I had to restart it. When it had restarted I checked the program files for the Teen Style pack and they were there, but I thought it might not have finished installing, so I deleted all the files there and unistalled the pack (I had made a backup of my game before trying to install it). I tried installing it again, and it installed all the way up to installing the patch for the seasons ep, when it got to this it said there was an error and I may need to uninstall and then reinstall Seasons, then it uninstalled the Teen Style Stuff. I tried again, but it still wouldn't work, so I uninstalled and then reinstalled Seasons. It seemed to work fine, so I entered the game, but at lot of my items were missing (and doing the flashing blue thing). I exited the game and as I had made a back up earlier I renamed this 'The Sims 2' hoping the game would now read that folder instead. So I started up the game again and this time even more of my custom content was missing (hair, eyes etc). In the end I had to system restore the computer back to Friday before I tried installing Teen Style Stuff, everything in the game seems to be working ok now, other than the ground.

When I loaded a neighbourhood, the ground (which was covered in snow) was covered in writing. I entered a lot to see if the problem would be the same there. The grass which was supposed to be covered in snow was black with writing all over it and the pavement was white with writing all over it. It goes back to normal when I enter buy mode. I don't know if it does it when there's not snow as I have not entered a lot where it wasn't winter.

Does anyone know why it's doing this or how I can fix it?

It was suggested to me that the problem could be that the game couldn't find the texture for snow so replaced it with words. I was told to change the season to summer and then back to winter, but this is what I get when I click on the seasons changer:

I've also been told it may be a good idea to uninstall and reinstall the game, but I'm wondering if I'd have to uninstall all of the games? (as I have all the eps). I also have a lot of custom content and sims (which I'm not quite sure how to extract). Is there any way I could fix this problem without having to reinstall?

Thanks for any help.
15  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Teen Style Stuff and patch - Fixed on: January 27, 2008, 06:31:17 am
I'm having the same problem. I've tried installing it 3 times now, the first time it nearly installed but the my computer crashed so I had to restart it. When I checked the program files for the teen style pack they were there, but on the launcher it said the pack hadn't been installed. So I tried installing it again and it got to installing the seasons patch and then said there was an error and I may need to uninstall and then reinstall it and then it started to uninstall the teen style stuff. Is there anyway I can just install the teen style stuff without any of the patches for previous eps?
