46  Simmers' Paradise / FreeTime Help / Re: Salary Glitch. on: May 06, 2011, 04:22:35 am
You could start by removing all your hacks (or better yet, your whole downloads folder) and going into the house and sending a sim to work. All you have to do is have them come home from work. You don't have to save when exiting since you're just testing. If it happens again, it's a glitch. If it doesn't, you will need to start tracking down the hack that is causing it.

If it is caused by a hack or other piece of custom content, you will need to track it down. The 50/50 method works pretty well.

The problem could also be that if Free Time is your newest EP in terms of release order (ie. you don't have AL or M&G) and if you didn't update your hacks when you installed it, then a hack might simply be out of date and need updating. If FT is indeed your latest EP, try updating your hacks and see if that helps.

You can add the line activating debug mode to your userstartup.cheat if you have one.

The hack you're talking about was probably See Them 2. Be careful if you already have a userstartup.cheat as this mod overwrites it. Make sure you make a backup of your userstartup.cheat first so you can restore any other commands you had in there yourself. Or just edit it yourself, as I said above.
48  Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / Re: Jason Ullom Uloa Skins on: April 26, 2011, 06:57:52 am
You can grab one with this sim. I have no idea if there were any more.

ETA: More sims here. Not sure if the skintones are any different. From the looks of it that creator made just that one skintone that they used all over the place. From reading comments around the place you can only get the skintone(s) with sims and there are no separate skintone downloads.
49  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: Funky Family Ties on: April 21, 2011, 09:49:18 pm
The answer is right there in what you wrote - she was packaged with a house and transferred to a different game. What you are seeing is part of the corruption of the hood that this has caused. You ripped her family ties in the old hood and when you placed her in a new hood and another sim had the same GUID as her parent from the other hood, the game assigned that random sim as the parent. There is no actual mystery here. You unwittingly created this yourself when you took a sim that had existing relationships and packaged it with a house. When transferring sims between neighbourhoods you should ALWAYS extract them, then clone them in Bodyshop and only then put the clone into a new hood. You should never ever package pre-played sims with houses. The only time this might be safe is if the sims don't know anyone at all in the hood and their house has never been played at all.
50  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: Bypassing Launcer with The Sims 2 Best of Business Collection? on: April 15, 2011, 11:56:46 pm
Right click on the icon you use to launch the game and select Properties. On the first page/tab of the pop-up there should be a button called Open File Location. This will open the folder where the exe for the EP/SP/whatever will be located. So there will be 2 exectulables in there, one called Sims2Launcher.exe and one called Sims2EP9.exe (or whatever it is that is your newest expansion). Take note of what the other exe is called and just rename the taget file in the Target box in the pop-up. Apply and Save.

You can't just straight up run a restaurant on a residential lot. Tutorial on how to make this work here.
53  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: if i install freetime, will loose all of my custom content? on: April 07, 2011, 04:21:49 am
Yea, you need to enable custom content all over again and also need to update all your hacks for the newest expansion pack in terms of release order. So if you don't have Apartment Life or Mansions and Gardens, you will need to update your hacks to Free Time. If you have AL or M&G, stick with your hacks that are already updated for AL.
54  Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / Re: WCIF some hairs? on: April 06, 2011, 01:42:29 am
The hair on the third model in the "I'm rich I'm famous" picture is by Newsea. Not sure where the headband is from, but that's the hair. You can also find it at the booty.
55  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: I'm not able to paint any custom paintings on TS2U on: March 21, 2011, 05:04:29 am
OK, correct me if I'm wrong but didn't custom paintings come with Pets, not Uni? This would explain why there is no Paintings folder in a game that does not include the Pets EP - there isn't supposed to be one.

Prior to the Pets EP the way we used to get custom paintings into the game was to get a sim with a painting skill level 5 or above start painting a still life and then swapping out the still life BMP for a custom BMP as soon as the picture was snapped.
56  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: What goes to What? Fashion Help! on: March 19, 2011, 11:10:32 pm
While downloading, I make a folder for the site and then make subfolders for each outfit. I then download the mesh and the recolour into the subfolder AND I download the image. If I'm downloading from multiple creators on the same site, my downloads will often look like:

-Site
--creator
---outfit

I then extract everything and compressorize and then run Clean Installer over the main folder to identify any duplicate meshes so that I can remove any duplicates. Only after this does any of it go anywhere near my Downloads folder. I run CI over my entire Downloads folder every couple of months to weed out any duplicates that may have snuck in.
57  Simmers' Paradise / Sims Life Stories Help / Re: Permanently deleting sims on: March 17, 2011, 05:29:20 am
Dasi, SimPE recognises all 3 of the Stories games so no problems there.

Hope you get it sorted out. A lot of mods don't play nice with the Stories games, even if they are compatible with the game engine each of the games uses.
58  Simmers' Paradise / Sims Life Stories Help / Re: Permanently deleting sims on: March 16, 2011, 06:47:08 pm
Try firing her using the phone, if the option exists for you. I've had nannies just keep turning up after telling them to stop the scheduling while the nanny was on the lot but apparently if that happens, you need to cancel the scheduling by phone.

Not sure what else you can do because there is no safe way to delete a sim permanently in-game. You could try grabbing the NL version of the batbox, prepping her for deletion then use the Deleted2 method via SimPE. Or you could have a sim befriend her, get her to move in and then move her out to the sim bin. Do not delete sims from the sim bin. I'm sure it creates the same sort of problems in SLS as it does in TS2. But she should be out of your hair once she's made controllable and chucked into the sim bin via the Move Out option. Make sure you do a backup first in case things go wrong when invisi-nanny is made controllable.
59  Simmers' Paradise / Apartment Life Help / Re: When Apartment Life and M&G wont load... on: March 16, 2011, 04:26:00 am
Stupid question of the day: do you have a DVD-ROM drive or just a CD-ROM drive? Both of those come on DVD and if you just have a CD-ROM drive they won't be recognised by the computer.
60  Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / Re: A door like this? on: March 08, 2011, 06:36:55 pm
I know you looked through MTS but I think that these doors by Pixelhate might be useful to you. Or these metal recolours.

There are also these by Cyclonesue (booty link).
