I used the Genie default replacement by IAmTheRad as base. Keep in mind that you can only use one Genie default at a time so you have to choose between this one and IAmTheRad's.

Since this took hours to make and I'm a kind ol' soul who thinks things should be easy, I have also included in the attachments the Genie vest transparency for other creators to snag. Only grab the PNG file if you intend to use it for your own nefarious purposes. Otherwise, you only need the RAR, which contains the default replacement package.

Requires Free Time. The Genie is not available in any other EP.

TOS: As is usual with my stuff, give it to your grandma or your younger brother to use in their game, give it to the dog to chew, whatever. Make sure you do a backup of your hoods and downloads and whatever else you want to keep first.

Mine did the same thing and I just had to re-install whatever EP it wasn't happy with and in the end all of them ended up working together just fine. But it was frustrating seeing  that come come up.

I'm not exactly very good at reading these things but it seems that the error occurred while a sim called Skwissgar Swigelf was attempting to get the mail. Do you have the buyable mailbox and have you installed a new EP recently? The mailbox needs to be updated for each new EP. I don't have the buyable mailbox so I don't know where to get it for you to update it - if that is the problem here.

Try changing those options while inside a lot and not in neighbourhood view, maybe? I know for a fact that you have to change shadow settings while inside a lot, so maybe the refresh rate, too?

If you don't have the nohobbyspam hack from MATY, a representative from the hobby lot comes over and "gives" it to your sim, ie. your sim gets a picture of a membership card next to the hobby meter for that hobby. If you have the hack, you just get a pop-up and your sim gets the little picture of the membership card without anyone coming over.

shishmish: I'll what I can do about making a vamp and/or zombie replacement with the alien one. Any preference on eyes or should I just make a No Red Eye version?

Have you tried running it without any hacks? It could be that a hack is interfering or that you have an old version of something. The Phone Line Controller sounds like you may have an old version of the MATY Phone Hack. Try getting an updated copy of that and maybe of all your hacks. Take out InTeen if you have it, that really screws up your game if you leave in an old version.

Have you got InTeen? A lot of people are reporting missing interactions due to having left in their previous copy of InTeen.

You can't. I think aliens are the only ones in SLS.

You put them into the Downloads folder. Just make sure that you enable custom content, then exit and restart the game when you do it for the first time. Sims will be in Create A Family not in the sim bin. You have to make them first, by going into Create A Family, then give your sim a surname, then choose the right sex and age, then click on the icon that looks like a bunch of silhouettes, three of them on top of three. Your sim should be in there, at the beginning, with a star indicating it is custom.

Keep in mind that if you downloaded a teen or a child, you need to first make sure that you start making a teen and a child. Unlike in Bodyshop, Create A Family doesn't show all sims, just those whose sex and age group you are looking at.

I have no idea if custom careers work with SLS, but I think custom sims do. I've lost my copy so I cannot double check it for you, though.

Once the sim reaches hobby enthusiasm around level 4, they will be given a membership card to the secret hobby lot and then they will be able to go there. This goes for all hobbies, not just their One True Hobby. A sim can be a member of any hobby lot they have high enough enthusiasm for.

What I am referring to is the newest "fashion" of person after person saying "I downloaded the game from the disk" when they actually mean "installed". I realise there is an actual downloadable version of the game but it seems that more and more often I am coming across people who say "download" instead of "install" and "file" instead of "folder".

Have you upgraded all your hacks and mods for Free Time? Even if you have a lot of them, you still need to upgrade all of them for your newest EP in terms of release date. Sounds like something is conflicting with the game code if your sims are incapable of doing such basic stuff as cooking.

Inteen will still be incompatible even if you install FT last. The last installed EP does not matter, it's your newest EP that determines which mods you need to use.

You will also need ACR for AL. In fact, all your hacks and mods should be updated for AL regardless of what EP you install last, including Uni, which was the first released.

Installation order does not matter in Sims 2 - release date/order does.
