Thanks for the comments, everyone. Much appreciated.
Blackcat007, the mannequins are from TSR. Just do a search for mannequins.
Dethzen, uh, UIC is way too big to actually recreate. I made the part I liked, which is the walkway between the buildings with the planters in the middle. Besides, what purpose would those buildings serve besides having to be on a bigger lot?

* I recently installed H&M Stuff, let me know if there is a problem if you don't have it. * If you can, please consider donating to my site. Due to an unexpected expense, I don't have enough extra cash to pay the bill this month. * As usual, FURNISHED version is at my site. EP's RequiredAll, no SP's FeaturesUNFURNISHED Chicago's EducationThe University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) is a state-supported public research university. It is a member of the University of Illinois system and is the largest university in the Chicago area with 25,000 students and 15 colleges, including the nation's largest medical school. Annual research expenditures exceed $290 million. This lot includes:Main Building2 Dining Halls Several Classrooms Music Room Library Computer Room Student Union Medical CenterGeneral Doctor Classroom Dentistry Classroom Optometry Classroom Art CenterArt Classroom There is plenty for your sims to do on this lot. If you have Pescado's Comm Lot Skilling hack, it's even better. The lot runs fine on my laptop, but if you have a slow machine, this lot is probably better for decoration only. Sims 2 Community Downloads / Community / Downtown Community - 59th and Kedzie by VJ Development

*Unfurnished, for the furnished version, visit my site. Required EP'sAll, no SP's FeaturesPrice: About 150.000 Lot Size: 3x1 Floors: 3 Beds: 1 Baths: 2 Businesses: 3 Apartment: 1 I have no clue how to actually run this business. I'm not sure how I want to use this lot, either. In my test hood, however, I just had a random sim buy the lot. I made him hire the necessary employees and then sent him home. I took another family there to make sure everything was functional and worked. It's good and I'm probably going to play it like that in my main hood. I can't multi-task to that level when I try to run a business, I won't even try. Small Businesses of Chicago's Southwest SideOk, I forgot to rename the lot when I was finished building. 2 of the little shops were located on 59th and Kedzie. I used to love going here in my youth. At Nicky's you can order anything from a "Chicago Dog" to some chili. Good eats! Mitz has been closed down for years. She was a tiny shop that sold the BEST dollhouse furniture ever. She probably sold other things, but being a child with a dollhouse, I never noticed. She also served tea to her patrons while they were browsing which is why I chose to honor her with a little tea shop in my game. Red 7 Salon is a fancy salon downtown. They are new and I've never been. I found them online and love the homey feel of the place. Classic luxury, I love it. They needed to be part of this lot. ETA: I didn't take pictures of the apartment because I was getting pissed about my crappy graphics. I think I need to get rid of some CC again... *This is the unfurnished version. For the furnished version, visit my site. Required EP'sAll, no SP's Features*This is a COMMUNITY lot made to look partially residential* Price: Around 45.000 Size: 1x2 Floors: 3 Beds: 1 Baths: 2 This is a small grocer comm lot. It includes a small business on the ground floor and an apartment-like place above. This is a good relaxation point for employees and for those of you with Squinge's sleep on comm lots hack, your sims can live there for a few days or forever. The apartment is decorated to look like an art student lives there (since UIC is across the street in my hood). I got the business up to level 5, but couldn't get it any further. I am not awesome... Chicago's Small RetailersThe Cupboard is a corner store I used to frequent after school. It's a store, much like a 7-11, where you can pick up snacks and magazines. I liked these types of stores because it was sometimes a congregation point for the whole neighborhood. The store owner definitely new everyone and always watched over us kids. He also used to give us free ice cream on blazing summer days and defended us to the police when we opened the fire hydrants. With the introduction of large business chains, like Walmart, most corner stores have gone out of business. It's a shame because corner stores were the foundation of neighborhoods in Chicago and other big cities. Wow, there's some nice stuff going on here. I like the beach house. Most of the time I look at other peoples lots and wish I could build that good. Danny: A 4 story house! Goodness, my sims would do very dumb sim-type things in a house that big, not to mention my laptop would probably take it's last breath. Looks like your sims are never bored, though. Well, I know I said I probably wouldn't contribute, but I actually like the lot I'm working on right now. So, as I was about to exit I snapped a few. This is UIC, a community lot that's supposed to be a college. The only building I decorated so far is the Art Center.

Hey everybody! I'm glad lewis introduced me to this thread. I love seeing different styles of building and decorating.
I doubt that I'll contribute to this thread, as I avoid taking pictures like it's the plague, but I'll definitely be back to drool over all your lots.

At least you live there and can get some later. I'm stuck in Utah! Bleh...the food here sucks! Anyhow, are you going to the Taste of Chicago this year?? If you are, I have a request. 1. Take some pictures for me. 2. Eat lots of ribs in my honor. Ok, maybe that was 2 requests. I want to make Grant Park and possibly have a portion of it be the taste as a community lot. That is my all time favorite summer activity! Me love food. hehehe
