1  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Recoloring Skin tones on: June 25, 2008, 12:07:47 pm
I hope this is the right place, as I did not see a section for creator help.

I am wondering if anyone could share tips on how to make light/pale recolors for skin tones. The only method that I have found for lightening skins is by decreasing the saturation and increasing brightness. However, I prefer matte or semi-matte skins, and increasing the brightness causes too much loss in quality. Also, I don't want the glow that increasing brightness inevitably causes.

I have also tried desaturating the skin tone, making a new layer in photoshop and filling it with my desired skin color, and setting that layer to Hue and Color. Both of those options end up looking too grey, as a result of the underlying texture.

I know there must be a better way. I have Photoshop CS3. All of the recolor tutorials that I've found for skin tones only show how to extract in bodyshop and import, etc. If anyone knows a skin tone-specific tutorial or has an answer, please share.
