How do we submit an entry? Are we to just post them as replies to this thread?
3  Sims 2 Community Downloads / InSIMenator Group Projects / Re: Child Abuse Awareness Tribute on: January 21, 2009, 03:13:47 pm
Oh boy, I can already see rocks being thrown at me for asking this, but: What do you people actually see, consider as child abuse? What do you mean by the term of survivor?

In general, I of course know what child abuse and survivors of it are, but there are many catogories. For example, in the European Union, the law considers a simple spanking child abuse.

As a kid I got spanked, probably tens of times, but somehow I don't feel like any sort of survivor, neither that it hurt me in any way. I dare say it went out good for me in the end, and now I believe it's actually impossible to raise a normal kid without a rolled up newspaper.

So, I'm just asking out of curiosity, because I know in real life both people that think like me and others who do consider a simple spanking violence of god knows how big measure.

I know that website, but it only shows the results from the computer from which you open it, it won't show me what your system has.

The easiest way you can find what your machine has, is to go to the Control Panel - you can select it either through My Computer or the Start Menu - and double click on the System icon. You'll have your info in the right bottom corner of the window that pops up. Just write it down from there.

Well, if you're not sure how well your machine can handle Sims 3, check and post your system specs - you'll find them in the Control Panel --> System and they'll be on the right in the window that pops up - and I can tell you, what might need boosting for TS3 to run smoothely. Smiley

Another high five then, as playing-wise, whenever a new EP came out, I pretty much did everything there was new to do in a few days, spending long hours before the pc and then everything was: I did it already, how many times can you do the same thing over and over?

I'm waiting for Sims 3 as well, it might not be that long till they come out, but for me it seems like ages still. As for the requirements, I read the official ones and they're not really that unreal. Actually, concerning what kind of hardware is available nowadays, they're quite dissapointing. TS3 requires barely a 128MB graphics card and Pixel Shader 2.0 - cards like that were standard (or almost standard) in the time when TS2 came out, and that was 5 years ago. It requires also a 2.0 GHz P4 processor - it's the age of Dual Core and Quad processors, not to mention COREi7. Next thing is the RAM, TS3 requires minimum 1GB of RAM - RAM isn't expensive nowadays, and even in a 32bit Windows XP you can install up to 2GB (there's an issue that 32bit XP doesn't want to read in more). Now, disc space, TS3 requires 6,5 GB minimum - that's really not much since hard drives sold now in newer computers using SATA are usually 512 GB, not to mention ones that have 1TB - which is over a thousand GB - while, older pc still using ATA, well, the prices of those hard drives went down a lot and the smallest size available for ATA nowadays is 160 GB I think.

With that type of requirements, I think actually, many people WILL be able to play TS3. I bought a new pc not long ago, and to tell the truth, what EA offers with these requirements is dissapointing to me, concerning the evolution of easily accessable technology and comparing to for example what Rockstar Games offered with Grand Theft Auto 4 and its advanced graphics quite recently.

We can shake hands, SimGirl, I'm like that too. There was never a lot, furnished or not that I have downloaded and not changed something in it. But hey, aren't The Sims partly made, so players can create their own, perfect, twisted, little worlds? Wink

Thanks for the nice comments, guys Smiley

Sorry about the whole thing with the missing mesh. Gothplague deleted all of her files after the whole Walt-insim situation and didn't leave any message on where they might be available if at all. Now, since the files vanished and Gothplague didn't say anything if it's allowed to upload her mesh along with you recolors, I'm afraid I can't upload the mesh myself. However, I can send it to you personally in term of private file share. So, anyone that wants the mesh for these, PM me and I'll send you the file as quick as I read your message Smiley

Thanks guys, really, glad you all like them. You give me the motivation to make more outfits for this wonderful shape by Gothplague, as as Annaxsimmzie well noticed, that the MiAna shape seems to be discriminated on the amount of available clothes for her Smiley

oOLoenaOo - these clothes were made specifically for the MiAna shape that represents a very skinny type of figure. You can however find hundreds of outifts for the default shape and other less thin custom shapes out there. I made these as there is a very small choice in clothing for the MiAna shape:)

Annaxsimmzie - glad you like these:) If you're looking for more outfits for MiAna, I made another set a bit earlier for her. You can find it here: http://www.insimenator.org/showthread.php?t=90960 Smiley

Thank you, Ali. Thank you, Gothplague:) Glad you like these outfits. With the hemline of the first dress I wanted something than a regular stich finishing, so I tried making something that resembled a free, "yarn-like" finishing that looked like the fibers just ended with a "free inregularity" Smiley

Hello! Smiley

Today I come bringing a new set of clothing for the MiAna shape, created by the talented Gothplague, as promised Smiley

ALL OUTFITS REQUIRE GOTHPLAGUE'S "MIANA MULTI-OUTFIT MESH" TO WORK. THE MESH CAN BE DOWNLOADED HERE. Because Gothplague stated on her new site, that it's okay to share her meshes with recolors  Grin

The first piece of clothing is a summer dress made using the texture from a dress you could find in the H&M Stuff SP - the long one that was also on the manequin in deco. I loved that texture, but hated the dress, thus I decided to take my scissors, needle and yarn and play around with it a bit Wink Now it's a partly see-through summer dress, nice to throw on when you take your sim galls to the beach. Color matching panties underneath included, so they don't catch a cold Wink

***

The second is a summer outfit. A black tube-top with an imprinted white hibiscus flower - or at least my guess is that it's a hibiscus... never was good at flora during biology at school... Wink - and a pair of jeans shorts, with material ribbons sewed over the stiches - I have a pair of shorts like that and thought it's an interesting solution and looks quite original Smiley

***

The third is a short leather coat (also available under Outerwear if you have Seasons) - can't say I'm really satisfied with this one, but decided to throw it in anyway, in case someone might like it - , something to prepare our sim girls for the comming fall. It's made for warmer autumn days, but I promise to make something for the chillier days as well. Uses the leg cuffs that I showed in my earlier MiAna set, they give the illusion of the sim wearing tall boots, even though they're made on the pants layer of the mesh. Those who also like tall boots and make clothes, you can use these - the alphas, the texture, the mat, in whole or in parts - to your hearts desire in your projects, with or without credit. The texture of the coat is Maxis, taken from a male outerwear outfit from the Seasons EP.

Hope you'll like them Smiley

Thank you, Saz, I'm glad you like them Smiley

Why should I be worried about you publishing a story that you got an idea for after seeing a piece of clothing made by me? I'd actually love to read it, I take it as a big compliment that something I made inspired someone to create something Smiley
