Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: Game not using EA Games folder

In this thread Huge Lunatic says that :"An issue that I have had if my user game files have been corrupted, is that I cannot simply replace the entire My Documents\EA Games\The Sims2 folder, but rather have to replace contents of the individual folders. Such as Neighborhoods, Downloads, etc. Have you tried running bodyshop so it will generate the downloads folder?" There are a few other issues mentioned in that thread that may also help. Sorry I don't have Windows 7, but I have been Googling your problem to death as it's annoying me. Probably not as much as it's annoying you, though...

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Re: WooHoo with Grimmy?

I've had heaps of kids in the past with Grimmy, that's not a problem. The challenge is in conceiving them naturally, rather by artificial insemination. @ Rock Justice: Thanks for the vote of confidence @ Hammy: next you'll be wanting to woohoo with Mrs. Crumplebottom.

Oh, I see. You've got me curious now though too. What if you made him selectable, would he hang around longer? Could he actually be lured into the Swinger's Bed? Do I want to risk my game turning into a BFBVFS to find out???

Yeppers, starting over. Fortunately, I had a diagram that I made on graph paper and took some pictures, also. I have to say I did enjoy learning and building. I expect the next one to build faster and easier. Thanks for the screaming and bulldozing. Into every life there must fall: Nonni Right on, Nonni! I'm sure the new lot will be twice as spectacular as the original one!

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: Sims portraits disappearing?
|
on: March 15, 2010, 06:26:29 am

It has happened to me with photobooth pictures, but not painted portraits. Very recently I had a Sim move house, and a photo in their inventory was black when they took it out. It was very sad in that case as well because the other Sim in the photo had died. I just assumed it was a game glitch. It has never happened to me with the pictures taken with the luminous pro camera that came with Seasons. Only with photobooth pics stored in their inventories. I have several camera mods installed so that might be a cause. I have no idea, really. Sorry.

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: install celebrity mod help???
|

I might be on completely the wrong track here, but I'm wondering if what you are referring to is a 'Celebrity Sim' that you downloaded from modthesims. (I've noticed that new players often refer to anything they download from modthesims as 'mods'- because of the site's name, I suppose) If this is the case, it will be in a file format called a sims2pack. These types of files you need to double-click on to install. If all goes well you should then get a message saying 'the content has been installed'. Now you should make sure also that custom content is enabled in your game, and also you need to look for your celebrity Sim in Create-a -Family/ Create-a-Sim (CAS) after you have loaded your game. There is a special custom button to click on to find your downloaded Sims. For example, if you downloaded an Angelina Jolie sim, you would need to go to the CAS screen then click on female adult sims and then click on the custom icon. She should show up there.
