16  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Custom Objects & Recolors / Re: SDA Meat Safe Invisible Recolour for Pantry Building on: December 06, 2009, 04:42:36 am
Oh thank you, thank you.  I'm very new to recolouring and haven't done any cloning yet, that'll be the next step.  If I had found your fridge I wouldn't have bothered with the SDA fridge, I used that because the food stuffs are quite suitable for my themed hood.  I was disappointed that I couldn't recolour some of the food so that my royals/nobles could have the full fridge and contents and my peasants would just have the bread and cheese left on the middle shelf.  Yours is better though with all the versatility anyone could need.  Excellent, thank you, I have wanted an invisible fridge ever since I discovered how awful they look in a themed hood.

Sims Design Avenue, under Sims 2>Themes, and Wood For Sims feature this theme, the latter is pay though but is in the booty.  A working spinning wheel would be fab, never seem one though.  FeeEssen at MTS has a deco one.  I did see a butter churn at the booty once too, a hunch tells me it was Artistic Habitats but not sure on that one.
18  Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / Re: Table, Chairs, and Clothes Line? on: November 26, 2009, 04:49:19 am
The clothes line is by Sanctum I think, they have stuff at Exnem and Sapphire Sims, I have a hunch I got it at the booty but it's no more than a feeling.  There was/is another site that Sanctum's stuff was featured but can't remember the name.  If you can't find it yourself, pm me.
19  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Custom Objects & Recolors / SDA Meat Safe Invisible Recolour for Pantry Building on: November 25, 2009, 01:48:43 pm
Hi everyone,

This is my first upload of a recoloured object, something I have just started to do.  I have had positive feedback on this item so am sharing it here.

This is the recolour you are getting in the zip, along with the original (not included)

The picture I have attached shows how the fridge is intended to be used.

The premise behind this recolour is the lack of suitable fridges for historical neighbourhoods, and my general annoyance at having to use a fridge in my medieval hood at all.  With this recolour you can have the illusion of a pantry or larder if you use the it in conjunction with shelving and kitchen clutter.  I am not clever enough to take away the fridge animations but I find this much less annoying than having a huge bulky fridge in my medieval kitchens.  At some angles you will see a slight seam or line, if this kind of thing annoys you don't download it, but most invisible recolours I use made by other people suffer the same wee flaw.

If you do not have Apartment Life then I'm not sure if this recolour is any good to you as you will be unable to move shelving into position.  I had hoped to get round this by creating a totally invisible fridge but as yet I haven't been able to-I need to read up a bit on some stuff first.

Anyway, I have made two versions of this fridge, one for the base game and one for Free Time.  The base game version should work with the Seasons version too. You will need to get the mesh from Sims Design Avenue.  You will find it under Sims 2>Themes>Medieval>Kitchen.  This is a pay set.  Alternatively you will find it at the booty following a similar path, except SDA is still filed under their old name there, Caravan Sims.

Base Game Version
Free Time Version

Thanks go to the staff at Living Sims Magazine, especially Leesester and SimsArtGallery.  Also to the makers of the GIMP and SimPE, and Numenor for his so easy to follow tutorial.  Here at Insim, thanks to theRaven and Bloom for answering my help question so quickly.

21  Simmers' Paradise / Content Creation & Recoloring Help / Re: Some info about mesh and recolour compatability on: November 20, 2009, 06:13:40 am
Thank you for that.  I'll re do the base game one then.  I don't know anything about GUIDs and things yet and have been struggling to see the wood for the trees a bit, lol.  I appreciate your quick answers too.
22  Simmers' Paradise / Content Creation & Recoloring Help / Some info about mesh and recolour compatability on: November 20, 2009, 05:07:15 am
Hello,

I have just started recolouring objects and my first good one (I'll use it anyway and hope to offer it here) is a recolour of a custom fridge.  I know that the fridge comes in different flavours, base game, FT etc.  Will my recolour work with all of these or only the one I used in the recolouring process?   Sorry if this is basic stuff and I thank you for your time.

Eh, here I am.  I  got myself mixed up and came in today to do the updates but see they've obviously been done because it's not my week.  Apologies to you all.

25  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: I keep getting a message in the corner? on: November 02, 2009, 04:58:18 am
I've not heard of this problem.  Are you aware of any steps to try to sort your game?  If you know any of this then I apologise for not being any more help.  Firstly, delete your cache files found in the same place as your Downloads folder, there will be 4 or less individual files which end in ".cache".  These can be safely deleted and will be re generated when the game next loads, maybe taking a bit longer than usual to do so.  I always delete these files before I play as they get easily corrupted.  Remove your Downloads folder to see if the problem is still there without cc (don't save your game). Go to Sims Wardrobe/Paladin's Place and download the programme called the Hack Conflict Dectection Utility.  At the site, it's under Sims2>Programmes.  Run this programme to see what potential problems you have with your hacks.  Not all hack conflicts are bad but it is a good starting point.  As you're getting a picture of a sink, my hunch is that the problem is associated with a custom sink or hack to do with washing or something but that is just a hunch and what I'm telling you is pretty much what I would try but I'm not an expert.  Hope you get it sorted.

Thank you very much.
27  Simmers' Paradise / Apartment Life Help / Re: Family feeds/serves entire apt complex on: October 17, 2009, 03:49:46 am
I think this did happen to me when I tried my game without the Downloads folder in.  I must have something that fixes it in there.  I think the fix would be at MATY, perhaps in the apt fixes hack.  I have been over there and tried to find it for you  (could find the hacks but not their descriptions) so I am fail today, and this comuter doesn't have my list of MATY hack descriptions.  Sorry I can't be any more help.

ok, thank you I understand now.
29  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Misc. Mods and Careers / Re: Airline Painting Fix (Default Replacement) on: October 12, 2009, 04:35:46 am
Sorry if this sounds a bit ignorant but if I use this file would I need to take out the default replacements for sims paintings I already use in my game or does this no glass feature work on them too?  Thanks.
30  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: red X popup when trying to start the sims 2? on: October 12, 2009, 04:28:25 am
Totally agree with the above, whenever my game hasn't started or thrown an error on start up it has always been the cache files.
