16  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Buzz / Re: I'm I the only one who would rather just keep playing sims 2. on: June 12, 2009, 12:14:28 pm
The lack of good hair, clothing, and objects, eyes, and skintones is what bugs me the most. I mean we've been absolutely spoiled when it comes to they way things look and the Sims 2 and let's face it the Sims three is a huge step back. Open ended neighborhoods isn't enough to make this game likeable, and while it's nice to see so many houses made for the Sims 3, it's now become a bit redundant. I've gotten to the point where I'm sick of downloading houses. I want clothing and hairstyles but that doesn't seem like it's going to happen any time soon.  Every time I see new stuff from the Sims 2 I suffer from serious Sim envy.

Let us not forget that EA are the kings of spin. They hire people just to spin a negative into a positive picture, so it's not really shocking that they would try to spin 1.4 million sales worldwide into "Biggest launch in EA history." The differences between reviews fans write and reviews the gaming magazines write is laughable to say the least, but then again the fans aren't the ones who are in bed with EA. I mean it's simple politics, newspapers and magazines aren't going to write a negative review when they stand to make so much money in advertising from EA, who not only makes the Sims but a lot of other games. With each new release of the Sims EA cares more and more about money and less and less about making fans happy. Why should they when those die hard fans will always buy Sims games no matter how inferior the product. They know that they can always get by on the Sims name alone. What EA is doing this time is criminal, charging 50 bucks for what is basically the Sims 1.5. Then on top of that charging more money for stuff at their store, than they do for stuff packs. They deliberately leave things out of the first game like pianos and diving boards so they can no doubt charge us for them latter. I'm sorry but anyone who have a hot mess of a game like this more than 3 stars needs to have their head examined.

As I said before, hype and brand loyalty will always carry EA though for the numbers, I don't deny they sold 1.4 million copies, what I do have a problem with is them saying that the Sims 3 was the highest rated Sims game ever. Sure the magazines that EA pays off is saying that the Sims 3 is the best ever, but the real fans are who I'm going with and the general consensus has been that the Sims 3 is a BIG let down. I think EA focused way too much on the open ended neighborhoods and not enough on the Sims themselves, that and their also trying to make money off their EA store, which I don't understand at all. How is EA going to put out CC that people have to pay for- at a rate slower than free fan sites and to top it off put out a product that is way inferior to fan sites. Why would any one pay for crap, when the better looking stuff if free? If weren't for places like MTS2 and Garden of Shadows putting our realistic looking Sims, I wouldn't even waste my time with this game. Hopefully Objects and Clothing will follow suite.

All anyone has to do is go to Amazon and see the real truth. The Sims 3 only got 2 and a half stars. We should be used to stuff like this, EA is used to lying. After all they are the ones who said the leaked game was "buggy" and "unstable" but there seems to be no proof to back any of their claims up. No doubt that sales will be good in the beginning, you've always got to factor for brand loyalty and hype, but those are wearing off and I think sales will reflect that accordingly.
20  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Buzz / Re: What kind of personalities would you like to see in furture games? on: June 07, 2009, 10:09:44 am
Ha! I would love to see a jealousy hack, that combined with the evil and insane personalities would be funny as hell. Maxis would never come up with a  stalker, but that would be funny too. Maybe one day people will be able to hack/mod personalities. Oh what fun that would be.  YAY
21  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Buzz / Re: I'm I the only one who would rather just keep playing sims 2. on: June 07, 2009, 10:05:02 am
I'm currently playing the Sims 3 and I have to say I am not that impressed, but the game was a gift so at least I didn't waste fifty bucks. Still now that MTS and More awesome than you are hacking the crap out of it, the game just might become bearable after all. I'm really not sure why EA/Maxis would try to limit modding so much when that's half the reason we buy the game in the first place. I mean did they really think people would want the stuff they make over at the sims store? It's laughable, they have and always will make the crappiest stuff for the sims that nobody in their right mind would pay for. Sorry that's just the way I feel. Every time I see a new sim for the sims 2 it is just a reminder of what I'm missing, but I had to unistall the sims 2 a long time ago due to space issues. The sims 3 runs fine on my computer but it's just missing something. EA games really screwed the pooch this time.
22  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Buzz / Re: My recommendation is to Hold off on the game on: June 04, 2009, 09:52:39 am
I have the game, and it's starting to get better now that place like MTS2 are putting out Mods and CC. I've already got a really nice house from there and that helps out lot. I'm still waiting for hairstyles, clothes and the little things that maxis left out like hottubs, pool tables, a slide and diving board for the swimming pools. I'd like to see a hack that allows you to have more personalities and skins, though from what I heard thanks to the sliding tool skins and good looking sims are going to be hard to do, but I have faith in the Sims community that they'll soon find away to do it, and everyone will be modding like crazy.
23  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Buzz / What kind of personalities would you like to see in furture games? on: June 04, 2009, 09:46:31 am
I would like to see Prize Fighter, so when your sims get into a fight your sim will end up winning nine times out of ten. I'd also like to see Fashionista where a sim would be better at decorating and picking out clothes than other sims.  YAY
24  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Buzz / Re: riverview? on: June 04, 2009, 09:42:01 am
I've got Riverview, if you don't haven't in your game you're not missing out on much. Why is it that EA puts all their ugly premade sims in the best homes and they leave your sims with the *admin edit* homes? I have found a wonderful cheat though, If your Sims want a really nice house and they can't afford it, just move them in with another family, then go to split household and evict the original family and voila the house is yours. Mauh ha ha.

Admin note: Quit the cussing! We let some fly, but not that one.
25  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Buzz / Re: The sims 3, What do you think? on: June 03, 2009, 02:26:17 pm
Yeah, the clock does suck, it's fastest speed is laughable. I hope EA plans on fixing that, it so boring when you have a household full of Sims who all got to sleep around the same time. If this game is going to get any better it needs mods and CC quickly. Thankfully MTS2 already has some stuff.
26  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Buzz / Re: The sims 3, What do you think? on: June 02, 2009, 04:42:05 pm
I. Am. Wholly disappointed. The faces are really awful, no matter how much you try the faces still look puffy and the eyes are creepy. Why are their eyes constantly rolling around? It's creepy. I hate how plastic and fake their skin looks. I hate all of the hairstyles and make up. The clothes suck three kinds of ass. The stuff that comes with the game is a very big let down, unless there is some heavy modding and CC I will not be playing this game much. I wasn't even that much impressed with the personalities, they all seemed to just be offshoots of Lazy, Active, Neat ect... Visiting other lots is nice, but not enough to sustain a whole game. It's like they spent so much time on making a whole outside world, they forgot half the fun of playing the sims is picking out clothes and decorating your house. Speaking of decorating your house, making a house on the Sims 3 is ten times more annoying that it was on 1&2 and that's saying A LOT! I think Maxis dropped the ball big time on this one. I think sells will be up for a hot minute because it's a new game and everyone is caught up in the hype but then I think sells will level off. This game isn't worth the money EA is Charging. Who ever said it should be called the Sims 1.5 is exactly right, this game takes way too many steps back. Way too many.

Really no SecureRom yay!!!
28  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Buzz / What Kind of EP's or SP's would you like to see for the Sims 3? on: May 13, 2009, 04:33:54 pm
I'd like to see a High School EP, I think it be fun to relive my high school days.
29  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Buzz / Re: Fat, plastic looking sims 3...? Missing something? on: May 13, 2009, 04:23:30 pm
Yeah I to have watched one too many videos on Youtube and am disappointed in the cartoony look of the sims 3 it's almost a step back. Unless they allow CC I will not be buying this game. The EA clothes are too ugly, the skins  don't look realistic, the furniture has no imagination, the eyes are lifeless, and the personality trait system, no matter how neat it sounds at first- is bound to be heavily flawed to the point of needing hacks to make it bearable. Not to mention all the bugs that will be in it for the first few months and let us not forget SecureRom. I'll wait to see if it skins or swims before investing any money in it.
30  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Buzz / Young Adult Pregnancy? on: May 13, 2009, 04:15:14 pm
I was just wondering since Young Adult is (Finally) it's own category in the Sims 3 do you think EA will allow Young Adults to become pregnant? They didn't in the Sims 2, since only college kids (how insulting) were consider young adults and college kids couldn't get pregnant. I know EA will never do teenage pregnancy but I don't see why they wouldn't allow young adults to become parents.  Rock
