1  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Is there a way to edit facial structure of an in-game sim w/o resorting to simsurgery on: September 26, 2007, 04:08:23 am
Hi there!

I have a heavily played sim dating from original game that I wish to modify his facial structure.

Though I knew that it wont be possible I still tried since his character file is quite bulky (about 95.000kb), sim surgery cannot be completed w success simsurgery but I changed his skintone and eye color manually  w no problem (by editing relevant codes in Sim DNA and Charactar data/Age Data). However his facial features require urgent modification (i.e. his eye size is far too small, outer eye corner is shooting the moon...etc).

Now I don't want to ditch him on account of just correcting his eye shape. So here is my question  :

Wouldn't it be possible to manually edit facial structure of an in-game sim by copy/pasting  relevant facial dstring values (atm I dunno which values correspond to eye shape and size) of another (sim created in CAS based on clone of the sim that needs editing) without resorting to sim surgery?

Since custom skintones tend to alter facial features of existing sims, I have more than a couple of sims that needs tweaking thus I would  much appreciate any relevant info.

Cheers,
2  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Promotion related problems causing serious difficulties with LTW on: August 02, 2007, 04:48:06 am
First I want to acknowledge the fact that I got such swift, constructive and abundant help from the wonderful moderators here and especially the one and only MissDoh that I decided to post my evergrowing problem about my sims not having any memories of being promoted plus rotating promotion icon no longer appears over their head on their return from work on the day they got a promotion. As you can assume this blows the chance of practically 3/4ths of sims in my neighborhood to achieve their ltws. I digged Simpe's forums yet couldn't come across a similar case. Guess this happened either while I was on a roll of deleting some clutter of memories or when I was struggling to find the missing sims (once I got errors in Simpe about 11 missing sims; I managed to clear 10 of them however (leading us to my second problem:)  within the process I managed to lose grim reaper and Mrs.Crumplebottom: now only scythe of the first and  purse of the latter are visible in the game, hence since Grim reaper cannot be ticked,  sims are no longer able to plead for love ones (LESSON FOR NEWBIES: NEVER PLAY AROUND WITH SYSTEM FILES UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING).
I tried to assign new LTW to some (i.e. 50 dream dates instead of becoming celebrity chef) this worked but I cannot assign the same ltw to everyone. Furthermore I tried to insert memory of being promoted and becoming celebrity chef on the day that the sim actually reached top of his career: yeah sim has the memory yet ltw is still not reached because it is done manually. So I am lost :sad1:and in desperate need for your valuable suggestions.
Thank you
3  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Inquiring minds want to know? Duplicate Projects, Lot catalogue and teleport folders on: July 27, 2007, 06:17:25 am
During these vee hrs of the day  I decided to do some cleaning and noticed that I have duplicate folders: under Projects folder another folder also named Projects likewise with Lot catalogue and Teleport folders. From the looks of them, they appear to be identical. Last year my system crashed thrice and during which I tried to backup whatever I can find and thats why I get so confused now with 4 backup copies of the game (and since date function of the PC is somewhat distorted I cannot figure out which is the latest with the original Sims2's copies being there as well) Since those days are so foggy to me now, I cannot recall whether its my mental doing or is it normal to have these duplicate folders? ( I am referring to folders under the main Sims 2 Nightlife game folder under My Documents). Also I have duplicate of  Music folder under Collections as well. Game will appreciate some space to breathe thus I'll truly welcome any suggestions in this respect. Should I delete duplicates? or...
Thanx
4  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Should I delete some memories?..help on: July 26, 2007, 05:23:34 am
Hello to you all gifted and generous members of Insimenator !

I have two couples that I like playing on and off for a long time. In order to lessen their chances of "jump", I occassionally delete some of their useless memories (fire, vermin, etc.) Well, I already have Insimenator, Pescado's romance mod, Squinge's makeup fun  and wearunderwearafteshower, again Pescado's noinstantcrash, autoclearcrushbelow70, nomorefire, dontleavefoodonstove mods. I recently added but then deleted woohooeverywhere of xxxsims2. Than my latest additions were Pescado's phone hack, noeatcrap, fightclub, noaplusspam, novelprogress, nocorruptdeath,noinfluenceobssession,anti-dateflowers. Now problem is:
My sims who used to be very dynamic, outgoing and perform series of logical interactions on freewill now think of doing many (meaning, I see on upper left corner of the screen what they intend to do, i.e. play red hands, etc.) in a blink but they wont do it instead just stand there looking at one another and sometimes take a step closer (there you see i.e. gossip box on the upperleft side of the screen again for split second) but again do not perform. For a minute or so series of interactions (i.e. gossip, tell dirty joke, etc.)that they would like to perform on free will are shown on screen for a split second consecutively but only after a moment or so they interact autonomously. Could any of the above listed (especially one of latest additions) be causing this or could this be treated as a "jump" and is occuring as a result of memory overload?
Thanx
