1  Simmers' Paradise / Apartment Life Help / Please help, major AL problems! on: November 23, 2008, 07:13:21 pm
Okay, well, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post, because I installed AL and FT at the same time, and that's when the problems started, but I figure it's worth a shot.

So, a few days ago I installed AL and FT. When I started playing, I wasn't able to load any families. The loading screen would appear, with the picture of the family and everything, the rows of pictures would all become hilighted, etc. But then the screen would just stay that way permanently - the family would never load. I let it sit for over an hour and still nothing.

So I quit the game, removed all my CC, and tried again. Same problem as before. Then, I created a new family and moved them into an apartment. Same problem as before.

When I got on the game again - with my CC - and tried to create a new family, the CAS screen went crazy!!! I created two sims with no problem, but when I tried to create the third, the sim was invisible. She only became visible after I went to cancel her. Even after she was visible, though, I still couldn't zoom in. Next, I finished her and tried to create another sim, but there was still this dark outline of the first sim, and the entire screen was really shadowy. So, I'm having a bunch of problems with my game, and I'd really, really like to be able to play it again. Any help at all would be really appreciated.

Here are some pictures so you know what I mean:

This sim was, for some unfathomable reason, standing in the corner of the room and spinning.

Invisible sim.

Weird shadowy sim.
2  Simmers' Paradise / Content Creation & Recoloring Help / Help With Making Clothing on: November 01, 2008, 08:58:31 pm
Hi. Cheesy I want to know how to make clothes out of body meshes. I know how to recolour, but that's the extent of my clothing-making knowledge. I want to make one of my teen sims look bodybuilder-y, but there's only a few good outfits out there that do this, and I want something specific. So, I'd like either instructions or a link to a tutorial or something that'll help me learn to make clothing from just the body meshes. Thanks in advance, and sorry if this is a stupid request. 3  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Sims Crashes On Startup - Help Please!! on: August 19, 2008, 05:23:45 pm
I haven't played the Sims in probably two weeks. When I started it up today, the very first screen appeared, the square white one that says The Sims 2 Seasons Expansion Pack. Then, a window popped up that read, 'Failed to find any DirectX 9.0c compatible graphic adapters in this system! Please make sure you have a DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapter and have installed the latest drivers provided by the manufacturer. The application will now terminate.' I'm not exactly sure what this means, but I haven't tampered with any files or anything, and no one else in my family really gets on the computer. The only custom content I've downloaded since I last played is a bunch of clothing. Does anyone know how to fix this? Help is greatly appreciated. Smiley
4  Simmers' Paradise / Anecdote Assistance / An idea... on: August 04, 2008, 09:37:46 pm
I just finished reading Breaking Dawn, the last book in the Twilight Saga, and I was inspired to take pictures and write a Sims story about the first book in the series, Twilight. So, I was wondering if anyone here has read the series - it's really popular where I am - and if anyone would be interested in reading a story based on it. I wouldn't be typing the whole story - it's like seven-hundred pages long - but instead I'd be taking like two or three pictures per chapter and typing quotes from the book to go with them. Here's the website, in case anyone wants to check it out.
5  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Vampires not able to bite... on: August 04, 2008, 09:18:39 pm
My vampire sims aren't able to bite anyone, or to kill anyone. (Using that mod from Shaklin.) They used to be able to, and if I use another sim to influence them to, it still works. But when I click on another sims, the option to bite just isn't there. I don't know if it matters, but as far as hacks pertaining to vampires go, I have:
Vamp Daytime Indoors Decay Hack (That is the longest name ever! Smiley)
Vampire and Werewolf Fixes
Vampire Sunblock
Vampires Walk Normal
6  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Baby in University on: July 26, 2008, 05:18:22 pm
I've been playing a married couple in Sim State University and the wife accidently got pregnant. I didn't even realize until she changed into maternity clothes. Anyway, she had the baby in a dorm, but there wasn't enough room for the whole family so I moved them into a house. So my questions are these: A) When the baby grows into a child, will he be able to go to school? and B) When the parents leave college, will the baby go with them?
7  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Blue Flashing Terrain - Help! on: June 09, 2008, 10:14:02 am
A couple days ago, I made a new lot for one of my Harry Potter sims. I built the house, a greenhouse, etc. and everything was fine. I moved my sim in and still everything was fine. Planted some tomatoes, everything was fine. Then night fell and all hell broke lose. Night fell and it started to snow. Suddenly all of the ground on the lot started to flash bright blue. I quit the lot and came back to it later to see if it was still going on. Not only was the ground still flashing, now the sims witch hat was flashing blue! Everything looks normal in buy and build mode, but not when actually playing. Any one know why this might be happening and/or how I can fix it?
8  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / The application has crashed... on: May 25, 2008, 11:31:59 am
Yesterday, I installed Seasons on my computer. My game had worked fine until then, but when I tried to play Seasons, the old "The application has crashed. The appliaction will now terminate." message popped up, halfway through loading Riverblossom Hills. I'd had this problem before, so I removed all my custom content and tried again. The same message appeared. Before, when I've had this problem, it was because of a piece of custom content that was conflicting with the game. Once I removed that file, the game worked. This time, though, it obviously wasn't a conflicting file. I know lots of people have had this problem, but I haven't found any "cure" for it yet. Does anyone have any suggestions?
