1  Resident Creators / EP5 Mods / Orchard Trees don't go Dormant in Greenhouse on: June 26, 2007, 04:37:25 pm
SweetCat,

Were they already dormant when you put them in the greenhouse? Are you using the greenhouse walls & roof? Did you miss a section of the wall or something lke that? The greenhouse needs to be complete - the trees have to be enclosed. Did you check for conflicts? Did you unzip the file into your Downloads folder?

I can't think of any reason this would not be working.

I'm sorry - I forgot to check the catalog language strings in the final version.  All told there were something like 4 versions before I finally got the right combination of meshes, preparation animations & textures! I can't believe how much time I spent on these - not hours, but days - over a week all told.

Anyway. I have loaded up the new versions with the corrected language options. I am certain Squinge will post thenm as soon as he has a chance.

LOL

I manage to help a little bit & let's face it, Squinge is overwhelmed! If I can help out here & there, then that's better for everyone. My family life prevents me from doing anything long term/consistently - nevermind having a forum! I am just happy Squinge does what he does & occassionally I am able to do something in return Smiley

I have wanted the orchard trees to produce in the winter if they are in a greenhouse from the first winter I ever played & now we can.

I sent the updated chili file to Squinge already Smiley

I just looked at the grilled cheese sandwich. There isn't anything in it to make it choose the toaster oven over the stove. It probably works like that because the game just picks whichever one it comes across first.

The basic problem with the mac n cheese & the chili is that they are "new" foods. I had to clone them from the ramen to get the single servings to work in the micro rather than just enabling the option in the base food. This is why there are 2 menu choices - the game sees them as 2 different things because they have different GUIDs. I'll think about this & see what I can come up with. Worse case scenario is that I make an alternative version where the Have option shows up twice on the fridge menu.

Ozzucay,

I tried many different ways to present the Mac & Cheese & in the end I decided the best way to go was to have the single servings in the micro & group servings from the stove. The reason for this, is if I kept the single serving enabled for the stove, then there would be 2 menu items - both of them saying Have Mac & Cheese - it just seemed less confusing to only have one listing showing up. Plus I figured that people who download this would be using the microwave Smiley

However, I can make an alternative version that re-enables the single serving from the stove if you don't mind having Mac & Cheese show up as 2 separate listings on the menu.

Thanks, squinge, for fixing the display issue - I tested but none of the sims were very hungry so i didn't realize the animation wasn't working properly! **note to self** make sure to test with hungry sims!

Hello emino,

It should not say Visit Campus - it should say bring Back Object. If you are getting Visit Campus then the mod isn't working.

Excellent - thanks for this. I just noticed this last night. They look so stupid walking over them. LOL - it's just ridiculous.

Thanks,

Yes & this one is not an option that comes up very frequently :/ I'll let you know just as soon as I get one of those Date calls, but so far I'm just getting flowers, love letters & gifts. LOL - it figures!

Tested last night but didn't get a Date call - this may tke some time because it's totaly random whethert hey get this perk or not & you only get the chance after a dream date. Anyway, as soon as I know I'l let you know. I'm certain it's right - it's just a matter of playing log enough to get it to happen Smiley

Thnaks!

Ok - currently this mod replaces the standard Greek House commands. The only way to get Residential lots to go get stuff was to set them to Level 5, because they actualy can't pledge people - which is what the standard Greek House level is based on.

Elven Ranger indicated he wasn't using a Campus, so in his case, it really doesn't matter. This is a rather specific mod. Having said that, I will see what i can do about making a separate mod out of it, so that you can have the greek HJouse work normally & also have Residential lots randomly getting stuff. But, this may take awhile! As I pointed out - I am not anywhere near Squinge's level, but I am careful & attentive.

So, yes, this does affect what the Uni Greek Houses can bring back - it removes the test for what level they are at & just makes it level 5, so they will bring back pizza & objects. I changed the Pie Strings so you can see what it is they are going for - rather than Visit Campus it will say Bring Back Pizza or Bring Back Object.

This should not have anything to do with munchie bots - totally separate things.

The mod first tests if you have Uni installed, then it tests if it's a Greek House & if not a Greek House then if it's a residential lot, so it should still work if you have a Home business. I will see if I can separate these - to make the residential part totally independant from The Greek House - that would great.

5/5/2006 @10:21 PM. I have been testing this & honestly I don't think it's working. I think I've missed a Frat lot check somewhere - somewhere else in the coding that is preventing this from firing. So, please be patient. I am working on a separate mod that will hopefully sort this all out. Sorry!

The detection utility lists which mods have duplicate references. Just move those ones out of the folder & then try to determine which of those you actually need Smiley

This really is in testing. It should work & I am testing it as well, but I'm not an expert like Squinge. He is totally awesome. I am still taking baby steps.

So, I really would like feedback Smiley

Hack Sister is pretty funny. LOL.
13  Resident Creators / EP2 Mods / EP2 required: Turn off computers when done on: April 29, 2006, 05:06:29 am
I know I already said thank you, but, this mod is just terrific. In my game the computers make a low rumbling sound that was really annoying. Having them turn it off automatically is saving my sanity (what little there is of it!)

I really, really appreciate this one!

Thank you!

15  Simmers' Paradise / Modding Database / Set to Next [Simantics Primitive] on: April 25, 2006, 07:01:53 pm
Hi again,

Well, see that's the problem. I don't know if it even exists - I was trying to figure out what it is/was. The line of code from (from one of the BHAVs in the Holiday Roast) is:

[prim 0x001F] Set to Next (object of type GUID 0x703ADB66, result in Stack Object ID)

I was just wanting to figure out what that was - what the command was doing.
