17  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Ugly, ugly work clothes... on: September 23, 2008, 09:31:34 am
Hello all,

I have a question: Does anyone know of a way, either via in-game method, or mod/hack, to not have my neighborhood sims visit other sims for a party or invite in their ugly work clothes?

We spend alot of time and care creating sims and making them unique only to have them show in a lab coat, or fast food uniform! It's very annoying and I hope there is a way to change it...? Is there? Tongue

Ancient, I downloaded Clean installer and are the hacks the things showing up in red? What does pink mean?

I'll try the FFS Lot Debugger if this doesnt work, too!

UPDATE: Oooh, I just found some GLOBAL_MODs with Delphy's Download Organizer. I'm gonna delete those and see what happens....

UPDATE#2: YAY!! She can call!! Looks like those hacks/mods were the problem!

THANK YOU ALL for all your help! ^_^ YAY!!!

Sadly, Joy, its just her. Sad

Oh well, I guess I can always just leave her in the neighborhood and invite her over from time to time... lol

If you've got no aging hacks, click Delete next time it comes up.  The game will respawn the Age Controller.  If the error continues, then you may have a hack from a download that you didn't know about.  That's another issue.

As far as the phone, I that I must periodically delete all the phones on the lot, then buy them again for the phones to work.  I haven't pinpointed the cause yet, but completely deleting all phones will reset the phone controller.

Okay, I will hit delete the next time I see it happen. Hopefully that will remedy the situation!

And I will also delete all the phones in her house, save, and then buy them again. Smiley

The phone hack can be attached to a downloaded lot. I had a similiar error connected to something I never volunbtarily installed. Turned out, that it came with another package.

Oh great. Sad I have downloaded quite a few lots...

~~

Random question: I saw in some other HELP post a person mentioning to delete the Groups.cache and some other similar files... Should I do something along those lines? They said it helped to reset some stuff. Would that help too?

@miros1: Well, I have all EPs and I have patched them all as I went installing them.

@Tenshii: Hmm, phone hacks? I dont think so... but who knows. I dont have any aging hacks, other than I use the No Aging cheat for my main 'hood, but thats not a hack.... so, I guess not.

@Joy, okay, I'm gonna upload the error log! Smiley

Hello all,

So I recently had a Sim who for whatever reason stopped being able to use the phone. When I would have her call someone, she would pick up the receiver put it to her ear and then just hang it up. I was trying to figure out what was conflicting with it, because she never used to have this issue, so I turned on the CheatsEnabled cheat, that could supposedly point me in the right direction. However, I got this error message:

An error occurred in object "Controller - Age" #90, Error: Bad gosub tree number.

This doesn't really point out what's wrong, as far as my noob mind can tell? Does this have something to do with InSimenator, because I know you can control their age in that?

Any help would be appreciated. Smiley

SenkoTwiik, good luck with finding the trouble file(s). I have narrowed my search down to 20 items! I should probably just erase the 20 and be grateful my game works again, but the perfectionist in my wants to find the ONE file and destroy it while I laugh. Tongue

Personally, I was so happy to see ceilings that I actually said out loud, "Ooooh!! Ceilings!" which was even a shock to myself. I never realized how much they improved the immersion of a setting until now! Smiley

Oh and another small question... Can I uninstall a previous expansion... I need more space on this thing and I hardly ever utilize any part of Seasons. Thanks again. :?

Well, I could be totally wrong, but I believe that if you uninstall Seasons, you won't be able to play any neighborhoods that have previously had Seasons as a part of it? The files would have been overwritten with portions of Seasons in them, so without Seasons the game wont let you load them.

I could be wrong, which I hope I am for your space-saving sake, but I know my sister couldn't play a lot I sent her via email because she didn't have Freetime and I had saved the lot after I had Freetime installed.
