16  The Sims 3 / Sims Medieval / Re: Sims Medieval-help (installing) on: April 13, 2011, 01:44:34 pm
I have had the hardest time with this silly thing. I bought the Sims Medieval so my kiddo Meggie, and my two grandchildren and I could have something to do during the day. Who am I kidding, I wanted to play it after seeing it on my sister's computer! So I bought it! Then got it home and tried to install it, with no luck.

I found out that my computer is not compatible with this game....Sad  so I won't be able to enjoy it with the rest of you. Am so bummed, but oh well that's life!

On the bright side, they said they will be giving me my money back for it, through the warranty part of EA. RAH!!!

thanks so much!
I have found a link online as well, and am working with them to get this installed as well. It's here http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/15/5483788.page

There are a few tips on how to get the game working from there as well. Yeah, I'm trying everything here, and thanks jamesbrown for your help too! Will be copying it to see if that helps as well....I tried to do the custom thing, but it said it wasn't supported and would make the game unstable. yeah, it's been a while since I worked on my computer so I've forgotten a bit of stuff there...
18  The Sims 3 / Sims Medieval / Re: The Sims Medieval on: April 13, 2011, 11:08:23 am
I cheated. Played it on my sister's computer (lucky her-SHE didn't have install issues like I did!)
I thought it was interesting, and adorable. I especially liked when at the beginning my cocky monarch kept saying "It's good to be King!" whenever he had beaten his opponent, talked to a lady in his court......just adorable! One reason I went ahead and got it. (the frustration went from there, as I keep trying to install the sucker!)

shocked I've bought Sims Medieval shocked

I tried and tried and tried; then tried again-to install this fool thing, to no avail. I get that redundancy error that everyone's getting.  I know I'm in the wrong place to ask this, but I know you mods, in all your wisdom, can 'set me to rights' once more. (put this where it'll fit best)

I have tried this silly thing on two different computers, but it still does the same thing, no load. Really tickin' me off too!

I tried taking the game back twice, trying it again and again, still to no avail.

Also a question-does this have securom? How about the main EA site? Did they do away with all that securom buzness? Someone on ea forum said if I download it from site it'll work, but I'm afraid to trust them.

thanks fer da hep, kids!

22  Resident Creators / Goth & Fantasy / Metal Gear Code Name: Solidus Snake on: March 23, 2011, 12:27:21 pm
Solid SnakeMain article: Solid Snake
Solid Snake ("born" in 1972 by the project "Les Enfants Terribles") (voiced by Akio Ōtsuka in Japanese and David Hayter in English) is the series' protagonist and the player's character in Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2 and Metal Gear Solid. In Metal Gear Solid 2, he is playable only in the main game's prologue sequence, Portable Ops is a prequel set before his birth. In Guns of the Patriots due to his aging process being quickened and gaining the appearance of an old man he is given the nickname Old Snake and is the playable character once more. The reason of the rapid aging process was not part of any external source, it was merely the way he was designed as a clone. At the end of Metal Gear Solid he reveals his real name is David.

23  Resident Creators / Goth & Fantasy / Metal Gear Code Name: Liquid Snake on: March 17, 2011, 03:39:09 pm

Liquid Snake is the leader of the rogue Foxhound unit that captures Shadow Moses in Metal Gear Solid and serves as that game's primary antagonist. Cloned from Big Boss in the Les Enfants Terribles project along with Solid Snake, Liquid's goal is to get the genetic code of his father.
Background
Liquid Snake is a genetic clone of the world's greatest soldier, Big Boss.  In an effort to recreate Big Boss, the Les Enfantes Terrible project was started by the Patriots and run by Dr. Clark, the Patriot known as Para-Medic.  Two clones were created as Solid Snake is Liquid's twin brother.  Liquid was born in 1972 to surrogate mother and Patriot, code name, EVA.  Liquid gained all of Big Boss's superior genes even though he had been told otherwise.  The Les Enfantes Terrible project is the push factor for Big Boss to have left The Patriots.
24  Resident Creators / Goth & Fantasy / Happy Halloween! Mary Sanderson on: October 29, 2010, 12:10:15 pm
The movie begins on October 31, 1693 in Salem, Massachusetts. The town is haunted by three witches, siblings Winifred, Sarah and Mary, who kidnap a young girl named Emily Binx to suck out her lifeforce to regain their youth. Successfully achieving their goal, the sisters are attacked by Emily's older brother Thackery Binx who saw them luring Emily to their house and punish him by cursing and transforming him into an immortal black cat to live with the guilt of not being able to save Emily. The town's citizens arrest the witches to hang them, but Winifred uses her spellbook to ensure their return from beyond the grave when a virgin lights the Black-Flamed Candle in their home. The three witches are hanged and Binx chooses to live his immortal life guarding the house so no one will resurrect them.

Three hundred years later, on Halloween of 1993, Max, his little sister Dani, and love interest Allison investigate the now urban legend of the witches. Max goofs around in the house and lights the candle as a joke and ends up bringing the witches back to life. The three immediately plan to suck out Dani's life, but Max fools them with the modern day's technology, escaping with the spellbook and Binx, who can still talk despite being a cat. Retreating to a cemetery, the kids are quickly confronted by the witches who are unable to touch the ground due to the cemetery's hallowed ground. Winifred instead summons Billy Butcherson, her undead and unfaithful lover, to capture the kids and retrieve her book. Billy had an affair with Sarah, and in return, Winifred poisoned him and stitch his mouth shut. Escaping across town, the kids find their parents at city hall at a Halloween party. The witches follow, Winifred entertaining the audience with her own rendition of I Put A Spell On You, bewitching the adults to literally dance until they die.

28  Resident Creators / Goth & Fantasy / Wonder Woman, by Request on: October 13, 2010, 03:32:20 pm
Wonder Woman is a DC Comics superheroine created by William Moulton Marston. She first appeared in All Star Comics #8 (December 1941). The Wonder Woman title has been published by DC Comics almost continuously except for a brief hiatus in 1986.

Wonder Woman is an Amazon (based on the Amazons of Greek mythology) and was created by Marston, an American, as a "distinctly feminist role model whose mission was to bring the Amazon ideals of love, peace, and sexual equality to a world torn by the hatred of men." Her powers include superhuman strength, flight, super-speed, super-stamina, and super-agility. She is highly proficient in hand-to-hand combat and in the art of tactical warfare. She also possesses an animal-like cunning and a natural rapport with animals, which has in the past been presented as an actual ability to communicate with the animal kingdom. She uses her Lasso of Truth, which forces those bound by it to tell the truth, a pair of indestructible bracelets, a tiara which serves as a projectile, and an invisible airplane.
