Thank you for all of your help. ON the second try enabling custom content I had success

I was delighted to find that my local secondhand store had the bon voyage expansion for 4. I removed my download folder. Installed the bon voyage game.Replaced the download folder. Before the install of bon I had installed pets nightlife and university. I anxiously opened my game anew. The create a sim section to be working fine. Oddly enough my  custom floors and wall coverings survived just fine as did the terrains. All  custom buy mode objects however  are missing.The custom doors and windows also did not survive showing a blue flashy object where they should be in custom lots. Am I doomed to start over again or is this fixable. I hit enable custom objects as soon as I first tested the game.Thanks for reading everyone.

Thanks for all of you offering help. I reinstalled pets today. INsim is still a now show. The weird part it fails to show up in the enabled custom content menu when I start up the game even though I have installed the download in the folder the object version.Before all this I had all these expansions and imsim and they worked great. Computer crash happened and I was unable to get my old game and downloads back. The only thing I can think is that I had an older version of insim. I have been looking for another insim download location to try and without luck.

I currently have university nightlife but I am reinstalling pets soon

Yes I have put it in the same folder that it has always worked in beforeWhen I used it before I had pets installed before I had to redo my game. I don't know if that would make a difference in it showing up in the game. It worked when I had pets. My stupid computer crashed and now I am working on a new system.

I need to find a way to be able to get add sims to a family tree. The best I think I was able to get was sim manipulator.But it Does Not make them show up in the family tree even though I can add them to family. The whole reason I was doing it needed to be able to have them show in the family tree. I have tried the german insimenator mod so many times and sadly I can not get it to work in my new game

I downloaded 7zip and tried to open the file but I dont think that's the problem because it was already in rar file form when I downloaded it. Plenty of rar files I have already installed in my download folders show up just fine. Starting to wonder if the problem isn't the file itseld.

I have tried all three file types object sim etc no luck.

  rar file it auto corrected is the one I used I didn't see any package file to download.

I used the ear file downloadable on the forum here. I didn't see any package file. Custom content is enabled and I put in the download folder. No luck so far.I had no problem with the old copy I had of insim before my computer crashed.

I have tried and tried to get the insimenator mod to work in my game. I have tried looking in the electronic folder where it should be. I have had insim for all my games and I prefer to any of the other mods out there. My computer crashed a month ago and I lost my whole game as well as the insim mod. Now I am trying to start over but my game play just isn't the same with out my insim. I no it's no longer supported here but I am hoping maybe I can find a version of it somewhere that I can get to work. I have tried enabled custom content.

So annoying just had to get a new computer and reinstall the sims so looking for a lot of my old downloads. This is one that can add markings to the sims eye it goes in the blush category. REd eyes rings around pupil etc

Got a new hard drive reinstalled all my sims2 games and go to start shopping for downloads. One big annoying problem the sims2 pack files refuse to install. They don't even look like thedark blue installer that comes with the game. So now I am stuck with only installing rar files.
