1  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Buzz / Re: Am I really the only one who is looking forward to this? on: May 21, 2009, 03:55:18 pm
I have never enjoyed a game as much as I have The Sims 2. Having read the reviews and comments at MATY thoroughly, I see both sides, but frankly, I'm not interested in a similar Sims game that can't be modded. For me, that feature provides the appeal. If I had to play the Sims 2 using only EA's content, I would have tired of it long ago. The main reason I Like Sims 2 is that is is infinitely adjustable in terms of its look and feel. I remain skeptical of The Sims 3 and will continue to monitor comments from users before I plop down one more dollar to EA Games on this one. I can wait. And I can live without it if it turns out to be a bust.

RockLooks great! Thanks to all who added another dimension to the site. It's feeling more like home.

We could have a grouper discussion so long as no one gets crabby and tries to snapper head off. But if we continue to flounder, the shrimp in the back row will likely hook up with marlin and troll the other way.
4  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Buzz / Re: what would be your first request for the sims3 if custom content is created? on: January 30, 2009, 07:06:25 pm
Poll closed, however, I thought I'd say a little something. I don't see any point to using a strictly EAXIS game for any Sims game at all, now or in the future. Many fine creators and modders have been mentioned here, and my thanks to them for making the game so much more worthwhile.

What I want is a game that "works" and lets folks who don't have a high-end computer enjoy it, too. I want the terrific creators we have come to love be able to snatch the game like a fabulous sparkling prize and make a run for it, just like they have done with The Sims 2; to create the kind of space where we can unleash creativity, feel comfortable, and get downright silly if we want. I want some trash and some beauty, just like life. I want Beosboxboy to do his textures, along with pixelhate, cyclonesue, and others who give us a glimpse of the dirty reality around us. I want to be able to create wondrous fantasy beings and content to release me from that reality if I choose. I want to be able to find walls, floors, rugs, decor, and other stuff for my wildly idiosyncratic homes, and be able to imagine my Sims eating a satisfying meal that isn't pasty mac n' cheese for a change.

I want Marvine's and WarLokk"s bodies, BlooMs sexy feet, Enayla's and Louis' skins. I want Pescado's, Squinge's, and others' easy to use mods and hacks that make the game make sense (along with the warped humor that IS the heart of this game). I want AudLuvsVegas' barn sidings.

In other words, what we all enjoy today for The Sims 2 must be present or creatable in The Sims 3. Ea knows what that means and so do we. For me, I can wait to see what the next version of my favorite game and community come up with. For EA's part, they had better start listening to their customers or the game will lose its market. For us, there is no limit to what we can do once we have something to play with. It would be nice if EA started playing with us instead of against us, *its customers*.

Can I have some rum if I'm over 12? I love the work you are doing. Passes around some snowflake cookies....

Be patient folks. We have just witnessed (and experienced) a major shift in Insim, and it's not over yet. Let's not get our panties in a wad. This is a fine holiday present, and the elves will get all the little details worked out. Pescado, staff, mods, admins - thank you! and happy holidays.
8  Welcome to insimenator.org / Updates / Re: December 16th Updates on: December 17, 2008, 03:46:27 pm
This update is one of the highlights of my day!

Thanks for La Revolucion. I watched it, read all 207 pages on the *site that must not be named*, and snatched the macro of the burnination of insimenator.net for my desktop wallpaper.

Nao I haz updaitz.

I don't download much any more due to behemoth gigs of cc already, but it's nice to see what the community is creating. I have gotten much stuffz from insim in the past, and want to thank all the fine and generous creators who have made my game that much better.

12  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Farms! Yeah! on: April 29, 2008, 03:00:50 pm
Sims could have small family farms where the kids can help raise the veggies and animals. I'd love to see working tractors and other kinds of equipment, even a workable dairy barn, with all breeds of cattle and you can make different breeds like you can in pets. You could have the animals give birth and sell the offspring at the local auction.

Then there is the whole OFB take on farming and ranching, where sims can make a living off their work by selling the produce/animals. You could even have fish farms.

Let's have a hoedown, a barn-raising, a country harvest. There could be cellars for the root veggies and stand-by tornado shelters, and silos for the grain.

Of course there would have to be new musical instruments added, like banjos, mandolins, washboards and harmonicas.

Ok, I'm in. This sounds like a fun new twist.

Hey, Geezy, thanks so much for these jumpin' hairstyles for the boyz. They look great in game, and the maxis haircuts were drab and unrealistic. Great job. I already made some Sims with your other hair cuts.
14  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / all these things are happening to my game. on: March 25, 2008, 03:12:42 pm
Hi simpleprincess.
Do you have the latest drivers for your graphics card? If not, go to the particular website and check to see if there is an update for your driver. If so, download it and try the game again. Let us know what your computer specs are (CPU, RAM, graphics card, etc.). There could be an incompatibility somewhere or just not enough juice to make the game run properly. Sims 2 is a resource hog.

Thanks pixelhate. I use a lot of your creations in my game. They add a dimension of decay in a wonderful sort of way. I appreciate your efforts and generosity.
