121  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: elau's default skins on: August 16, 2009, 06:09:09 pm
If it is showing up in the game, then it is a file in your Downloads folder (or, though a thin possibility, Saved Sims or Collections folders).

If you haven't already, temporariuly move the Dwonloads folder to your desktop and see if the problem goes away (just Quit, don't Save the game). If it doesn't, then the problem file is in a different folder.

Also, in My Documents--EA GAmes--The Sims 2 folder, delete the following if any of them are ethere:

groups.cache
accessory.cache
cigen.package

Perfectly safe to delete those; the game will generate fresh ones if it needs them.

Though time-consuming, the old reliable 50% method may be of help:

http://www.simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Finding_Problem_Custom_Content#The_50.25_Method

Just remember not to Save the game when you have temporarily removed content.
122  Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / Re: WCIF a particular type of house(s) on: August 15, 2009, 06:49:44 pm
Some sites you might check out:

1) http://www.elitesimbuilders.com/Forum/index.php
Scroll down to the Victorian and also the Mansions parts of the 'Residential Lots' listings. And that site is closing on Aug. 31, BTW.

2) http://teharimmosims.free.fr/
In French, but easy enough to navigate. Houses are grouped by style under 'Les Maisons.'

There's another site which has lots of Italian-type villas, but can't remember the name this minute. Will edit this post and add the link when I can dig it out.

Fianlly had  an opportunity to look it up.

3) http://www.webalice.it/mikebur50/index.html
In Italian, but easy to navigate. The first 7 categories to the right of the word Home in the bar near the top are all houses.

Also a couple more which might have something close to what you want that is readily modifiable:

4) http://www.styling-home.de.vu/

5) http://lsre.jillyann.com/

Looking for an already built 4-car garage is rather limiting, but adding on or expanding a garage within a lot isn't all that difficult to do.
123  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: elau's default skins on: August 15, 2009, 06:16:42 pm
A couple of quick points:

1) Those files don't belong in the Teleport folder. The Teleport folder is a repository for Sims2tmp files used by the game to then properly install lots in the LotCatalog folder and the Lot Bin.

2) Open up your Teleport folder. If there are any files at all inside of it, delete them.

3) Delphy's Download Organizer will (almost always) list default replacement files as 'Replacement.'

4) Clean Installer will (almost always) list default replacements as files having no Type (blank entry in that column). If you click on the Type tab in CI after the files list has finished generating, that will re-sort the listing, and the blank Type items should be at the top. Every file listed by CI with no Type is not necessarily a default replacement, however (for example, the creator of some custom content may have neglected to encode a Type with the file).

5) If your Teleport folder is empty and your skintone situation still exists, then it is almost surely due to a file (or to multiple files) in your Downloads folder.

6) A remote possibility is also that a stray file might have accidentally been installed in your Saved SIms folder, so would check that out as well via DDO and/or CI, just in case a default replacement got placed there inadvertantly.

Not all that familiar with the ins and outs of DDO, but remember that your can Move files using CI rather than permanently and ineradicably delete them, if you are unsure of what a file is and might possibly want to put it back into your game.

As you state that it is not operating for you, make sure you have the final (though still unsupported) version of Insimenator (the one on the Forums). And that you have one and only one version installed in your Downloads folder (either OBJ or DEST or SIM version).

My own experience has been that the DEST version works quite well; your mileage may vary.

Sidebar: It would help tremendously with readability if you used the Shift key when appropriate, please.
125  Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / Re: muscular mens clothing on: August 12, 2009, 10:29:42 pm
Do you mean for Slim Bodybuilder, Huge Bodybuilder, etc.?

There's some on this very site:

http://www.insimenator.org/index.php?PHPSESSID=8571f3745b82f1bf28699ce7deece4ad&board=479.0

Just one example; check the Forums for others.

A lot more is at 18+ sites, but also a goodly amount at Sim-Antics (free reg. req.):

See here:

Would add that you also need the concierge desk in addition to the doors, and to never, ever use the changeLotZoning cheat on any occupied lot.
127  Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / Re: WCIF something to manage townie clothes better + another thing on: August 12, 2009, 07:42:39 pm
Insofar as the creativity skill is concerned, doubtful that there is anything to decouple the easel from other creativity-building objects (though that is something, IIRC, introduced in Sims3).

If a Sim gets maxed in creativity through just painting though, when he/she thereafter goes to play the piano (or drums, guitar, bass, violin or synthesizer, or via the hydroponic garden, lie detector or karaoke booth) that Sim won't necessarily be interacting at the peak level, but will advance to the peak level faster than if there were still creativity points to be gained.

That said, there is also a hidden skill* in painting in the game (which can be accessed and increased or decreased using Insimenator or similar mods) which advances a bit differently than does the creativity skill (related, again IIRC, to both the number of paintings completed and the number of higher-quality paintings a Sim produces), and which affects the quality and the initial selling price of paintings.

Some other (but not all - varies dependent on EPs installed) hidden skills:

Homework
Pool table proficiency
Dancing
Alien abductions
Meditation
Writing

Many fulfilled hidden skills can also open up additional scholarships which a teen can be awarded prior to entering college.

Green, you say?

Take a look at Genensims, you might well find something similar enough to pass muster. Link is to Page 1 of the Male Variant hair section:

http://genensims.com/hair/m-variant_01.htm

Green/greenish also on pages 4, 8 and 13 of the Male Variant section.

For black, should you find something you might deem useful there, go to the Male Standard section there (can't recall the specific pages).
129  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: Cell Phones on: August 11, 2009, 04:15:48 pm
Alternative to going to a community lot and buying a cell phone is, if you happen to have Insimenator installed, to use its Property Adjustor to just give a cell phone to any selected Sim.

By the by, any Sim can purchase more than one cell phone. Can come in handy if there is another family member who wants/needs a cell phone but is not visiting a community lot. Just take any additional cell phone from the Sim's backpack and place it on a table or counter, then move that cell phone into the backpack of any other Sim.

So, for example, Sim A could conceivably (so long as he/she has sufficient funds) purchase cell phones for the entire family.

EDIT: Also, FYI, the kiosks also sell mp3 players and a hand-held video game device.
130  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: Mysterious disappearance of a Sim! on: August 10, 2009, 11:51:21 pm
The plant is the carnivorous cow-plant (Laganophyllis Simnovorii - part of Uni EP).

It is found on most Secret Society lots in colleges, and is also a career reward for the Natural Science career.

Can also be bought using either TwoJeffs 'Buyable Rewards Collection' mod (or similar such mods). TJ's is here (look under whichever matches your highest-level EP - if not there, keep going down the list until you find the highest version of the mod that still matches your EPs);

http://www.simbology.com/smf/index.php?PHPSESSID=5ca66c6ae124777d4ad880358f6aed4e&board=22.0

There are also recolors and such available at MTS2 and other sites.

Or can be had using boolprop testingCheatsEnabled true and shift-clicking on the newspaper to unlock career reward(s).

Or, if you have Nightlife installed, open the cheat window and use:

unlockCareerRewards

That will unlock all career rewards for the selected Sim.

Really long shot--

Try installing the Ghost Hack:

http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?p&t=202081

and unghosting the Sim (as she for all intents and purposes seem to be exhibiting ghost characteristics).

133  Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / Re: WCIF chin crease(makeup) on: August 10, 2009, 07:32:57 pm
There are some lip/lipstick items which kind of shadow that facial area, such as:

http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=318113

But probably the closest would be a shadowing mask, such as the choices (scroll down a bit to 'Facial Shadow & Highlight' set) shown under 'Jaw'  and 'Under-Lip' there:

http://simplelife.chagasi.com/dwpage_skin1.html#Mask
.

134  Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / Re: carpet walls? on: August 10, 2009, 06:13:18 pm
Don't know of any shag walls, but maybe a fabric/burlap texture might help? (Free reg. req.)

http://www.wallsims.net/display-item.php?id=751&ws_tissus

EDIT: One other thing which is a little bit close might be the Alien Wall in the Organic walls (see 4th of the screenshots) available here:

http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=271890
.

135  Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / Re: WCIF chin crease(makeup) on: August 10, 2009, 05:59:36 pm
Also another one by  neen (rock chick).

Here is her site, but it may have been removed from there:

http://www.rockchicksims.com/Home.php

If that is the case, you could download one of her Sims who still have that chin make-up, such as Matt:

http://www.insimenator.org/showthread.php?t=26394

and use Clean Installer to install only the chin file.
