1  Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / This Jared Leto sim on: November 29, 2010, 09:28:24 am
*Hotlink removed by staff*

I used to have this sim, but I lost all of my sims stuff and I've been trying to find him again.  I thought I downloaded him off this forum, but that was back when it was still insimenator.net.  Anyway, I've searched all over.  If anyone remembers where the original download is, or if you have him yourself, or at least know who created him, that would be wonderful!
2  Simmers' Paradise / Mods & Careers / A fix for novel writing on: August 04, 2009, 06:51:51 pm
Okay, I'm getting fed up with the way sims have to catch that phone call right away after finishing a novel to get their money from it.  And if they don't, then they don't get paid.  That's whack.  I've had my sims spend time writing novels only to have it finished when a friend of theirs called and therefore, they didn't get the phone call with their royalties.

And also, the royalties phone call doesn't come in for sims with cell phones.  I had to have a phone in my house just for the royalties phone call even though I didn't actually need it.  Is there a mod or a willingness to create one where the royalties phone call will come in once an hour if missed because of stupid coincidences like friends calling as soon as the sim finishes the book, or forgetting that the phone was off or silent, and that the book publishers keep trying until they get the royalties phone call and their money.  It just feels like my sims are robbed because of things out of their control.
3  Simmers' Paradise / Mods & Careers / Another request. Hacked fridge options for kids on: June 20, 2009, 08:29:41 pm
It bothers me that children can only get out snacks from the fridge.  Is there anyway to globally hack the fridges so they can at least make sandwiches and cereal?  After all, what kid doesn't know how to do that?

I know they can get left overs and I've been using that feature for them, but I think it's reasonable that kid sims make at least their own cereal and sandwiches.  Nothing that requires a stove to cook it with.
4  Simmers' Paradise / Mods & Careers / A sit mod request on: June 20, 2009, 01:45:33 am
I think this would be a fairly easy mod to make.  At least, I would hope so.  If it already exists, then point me in the right direction to it, but if not, it would be extremely useful for so many purposes.

I'd like to be able to click on an object where an option would come up for every single sim on a lot to take a seat somewhere, and to stay in that seat till I cancel the interaction.  If someone jumps in their way as they're heading towards the next available seat enough for them to stomp their feet and whine, they'll still continue towards the seat and keep trying till the walkway clears and they're able to take their seat.

I want them to not be frozen while they sit but to do as sims do and start talking.  But I'd also like an option for them to stop talking and look ahead and stay that way.  Like an embedded action.

I think such a mod would not only be useful for storytellers but also for regular gameplay, where if you're like me, you're sick to death of sims not deviating from whatever mindless thing they're doing during a wedding enough to watch the ceremony take place.  How many wedding parties have been ruined by sims not taking their proper seats to watch the vows exchanged?  And if you have a lot of people there, especially if they're unselectable, who wants to go through the trouble of not only making them all selectable but also clicking on a sim then a chair, then another sim, then another chair, and so on and so forth.  Not to mention, what if there's a road block as all these sims are taking their seats and one stomps their feets and complains.  The action then goes away and you're forced to have to do all that over again.  And then you may have to content with them wanting to get up and run off to do something else and have to stop the game and seat them AGAIN!  And there's no telling how many more might decide to run off and do something else.  It's an aggravation and much too often it's not worth throwing a wedding party because of it.

That's just one important use it could have.  I'm sure other uses would come up as well.  So think of the kind of hero you'd become for making such a hack!
5  Simmers' Paradise / Content Creation & Recoloring Help / hair binning. What am I doing wrong?! on: June 10, 2009, 09:49:21 am
I have this hair set that I want to place in their proper catagories.  I used SimPE and followed the tutorial to the letter.  Didn't work.  I downloaded the simPE plugin for color binning.  Didn't work.  I downloaded and installed Wardrobe Wrangler.  Didn't work.  I followed each of these programs and their instructions down to the very last detail.  I even looked at other files that had binned custom hair and saw that it was NO different than my files.  They're all under the proper catagories in Property set and yet despite all that, the hairs still show up in the custom bin under black hair whenever I open bodyshop.  I even tried sending the packages to a friend and she says they don't show up AT ALL in her game.

It hit me that I was changing the hairs in the project folder and checking on them after they were imported to the game, so I tried importing them after the bin changes were made but they all still wound up in the custom bin.  I tried deleting the custom hairs and moving the packages directly into my downloads folder with the mesh and THEY DON'T EVEN SHOW UP!

This is my first time attempting and failing to bin hair, so if someone could maybe list some common noob mistakes that prevent this thing from working correctly, I'm all ears.  I've been at this for the last three days and I'm ready to scream.  I'm proud of these recolors and I want to share them, but I can't do that till they're all properly binned.
