1  Resident Creators / Mod Requests / Re: Adoption fulfills 'Have a baby' want on: March 12, 2009, 10:52:20 pm
twojeff has a mod that allows sims to be content with either adoption or having a baby. It can be found here:
http://www.simbology.com/smf/index.php?topic=14.0

Its under:
Have/Adopt Child Want Fix

I haven't used this, but I love his mods. They work great.

6  Resident Creators / Mod Requests / sponge bath for kids on: October 27, 2008, 02:16:14 am
I have a Mac and  the following expansion packs:
sims2, university, nightlife, open4business, pets, seasons and the last of all for mac: bon voyage

I had smithycpl's spongebath sink and global hack from modthesims. However, since bonvoyage it doesn't work.  Would it be possible to have a mod that lets kids sponge bath in a bathroom sink?  I love poverty and such challenges, but it's a no go if kids can't have a wash every now and then. My poor kid has flies following her around.
7  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Sims wont use phone on: October 15, 2008, 03:46:00 am
Hi,

I had the same problem. It turned out it was something in the cep folder. The zCEP-EXTRA in the docmuments...Ea folder... sims folder. Also check the one in the (I am on an apple) but I think the program files folder in windows?  The sims folder...tsdata folder....Res folder....Catalog folder....zCEP-EXTRA folder...check and see if there are phones in one or both of the listed folders.  Take them out and put them on the desk top...restart your sims program and see if that fixes it.

I have a mac, so what I say may not apply. However, I was having weird crashes, when I was trying to load the 'buy" menu stuff.  My son sorted things out by taking the CEP-EXTRA_GardenRocks out of the cep folder for me.  I had, at that time, sims 2, university, open for business, pets, nightlife, and seasons.  It crashed as well, when I reloaded and added bon voyage.  So I took the rocks out, and things have been fine.

All so I read somewhere, today, that you may have to reinstall the cep, to make it work right with apartment life. Others say take it out, until Numenor updates it.  Try taking out the rocks.
To install the cep on a mac, you have to do it by hand...or whatever... Here is where the folders are on the mac:

You will probably find them  in windows in my documents and program files:

To quote:

"Extra" folder:

Open it and you will find 2 subfolders, "MyDocuments" and "ProgramFiles".

c1) Open the "MyDocuments" folder and move the entire "zCEP-EXTRA" subfolder, along with the several files contained in it, in:

HOME (the icon with the little house) -> DOCUMENTS -> EA Games -> Sims "

and

"NOTE: *DO NOT* put the "zCEP-EXTRA" folder into the Downloads. It goes into the "Sims 2" root folder!

c2) Open the "ProgramFiles" folder and move the entire "zCEP-EXTRA" subfolder, along with the several files contained in it, in:

    MAIN DRIVE -> THE SIMS 2 -> TSDATA -> RES -> CATALOG"

I don't mind the witches, I just hate it that the evil witch can call up lightning, which really hurts my eyes, and those awful roaches. I hate roaches.  I guess others hate story book witches with the same passion.

My own oldest daughter, won't let her kids do Santa at Christmas. I feel so bad for them.  They are missing something really fun.  Oh well, to each their own.

The ati 2600 was a real problem for some folks on macs, trying to play the sims.  I waited to get my new imac. I got it when they came out with nvidia 8800.  Of course, now we find out nvidia has problems with their graphic cards. I thought...awww doesn't affect me...I have an 8800....wrong...But it does work so far. Anyway, folks with the newer macs, with ati 2600, were having real problems, such as you mention.

This doesn't help your problem though, but at least you are not alone.
