31  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: How exactly do you recolour Tops on: July 29, 2016, 07:50:48 am
Yes that's correct, it's a female teen top that was part of a set of other colours.
When you say the master, i'm assuming the adult category can be ruled out since its only with the teen recolour set i'm dealing with.

The way i usually do it, is by packaging the top with the sim and then extracting it out for simpe, because just like you indicated,
Bodyshop adds some kind of tag separating the copy from it's original.

Let me explain how weird this is.
After doing the editing with Photoshop and exporting the top back in Body-shop, the top comes out clear and well textured.
But as soon as i close body shop and re open it, the top comes out blurry and smudged.

Now you see the reason why i was messing around with the graphics rule which i assumed is in the CS config file.

So on the title i asked "How exactly do you recolour tops" That was me being specific in my question. (I don't know what else you would refer outfit tops as)
The 3rd line i wrote, i cannot find the texture in the package file recolour.
There is usually a texture file in a package file. I've seen the image file in full outfits, but there is no sign of the image texture in outfit tops in Simpe.

The resolution was about me trying to adjust the resolution in Bodyshop, the purpose was to try and prevent the texture becoming blurry. (This was a bad idea)

You've missed my Question in the title.

I'm fully aware of how to recolour clothes in that procedure.

This has been driving me crazy all day which lead to me having to reinstall the game because i made a mess up of the graphics rule.  Star Wars
Which was meant to make the resolution suitable for Body shop textures.
What i don't get is when i try to edit Tops in Simpe there is no texture.

I've also had this problem with other textures being recoloured on simpe but when i preview it on Body shop the colour didn't change.  huh
35  Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / Re: WCIF Shacklins Double Lightsaber on: July 13, 2016, 10:07:52 pm
I forgot to mention this was an object in Sims 2
I had it before, but that was back when shacklin was around.  Cheesy

I had it once before but there doesn't seen to be any copy of this anywhere.
It's not even in the GY.
37  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Changing a vacation home to a residential home Problems on: August 10, 2015, 04:51:28 pm
I tried Change lot Zoning and changed the lot to residential but it still seems to identify itself as a Lodge.
this is complicated as the lot is a beach  so maybe there's a changlot zoning code for that. The Lot can be found in the category but it refuses to be placed on residential areas.

The Mail Box and the trash can dose not change instead they are still Taxi phone and community bin.

These are incredible thank you.

It's been a long time since I've played TS2, but I think I got it to work using this,
http://modthesims.info/t/302405

I can't believed this worked!

thanks!
40  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Apartment Beach lot stability? on: June 17, 2015, 10:38:03 am
I'm starting to get the feeling you're not meant to make beach apartments, because i've seen what it dose to the sea,
it has also lead to partial invalid lot types.

It's worse when you want to re- edit the lot back to residential.
You'd think it would be using the same code as the Hotel Lot Zoning with a few exceptions.

Has anyone succeeded in getting around this?
Or is it strictly land only apartments?
41  Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / Diamond Rings or gold or silver cc rings on: June 16, 2015, 10:55:20 am
It seems CC rings are rare to come by is it because they're harder to make?
42  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: Strange Mark on the thumb on: June 15, 2015, 09:25:05 am
It's just a texture edit, so you'd have to fix all the recolors if you want the black spots removed. I added the texture to the zip file, so you can use it as a guide.

If you make recolors with my edit, you don't need to worry. If you recolor the original you'll have to edit the alpha texture to remove the black squares. You can edit the layer, and then re-use the project file if you want to make more recolors.

---

Clothes simply layer over the skin. Anything white on the alpha texture shows as clothing, and black shows as skin. There's no such thing as a base mesh for (most) one-layered clothing meshes. Arms, hands, legs and everything else is together with the clothing parts.

Meshes with several layers (alpha meshes) sometimes have a separate texture for skin parts, particularly tops coverted from TS3/TS4 since they're mapped differently, and see-though layers.

You're right i'm already way ahead of yah lol.
I learnt you kept them in alpha, that's when i started putting 2 and 2 togther...It's almost like it's a full outfit if it wants to be,but instead it's 50% of an outfit.
i'm starting to understand the structure.

No worries this should be fine once i fix them.  Smiley

It's the texture (I've checked). Two big black squares cover some of the right hand and a lot of the left hand.
A simple texture fix was all it needed: Download.

Wow you're good lol i had no idea textures were even seen on base mesh i thought they were invisible.
Looking at the the png what colour would you even use?
And would that apply to the recolours or would they require the same treatment?
such as this link -
http://hellhasspoken.proboards.com/thread/410/sashpants-af-bottoms

Thank you very much for the fix this was great! Cheesy

Could you please provide a screenshot of the problem, plus a link to the CC in question?

Absolutely..So the mesh was downloaded from the GOS (Garden of Shadows)
Now the thread is 5 years old, and is no longer active.

This was the page http://www.digitalperversion.net/gardenofshadows/index.php?topic=17628.0

The mesh was Ripped pants and boots.

At first i thought the colour matched the pants but it's pure black void of any texture.
It appears that i'm the only one that has noticed this small mark, considering no one mentioned
this on the thread.

When you look at the pics on the thread, you can actually see the black mark there but it blends with the jacket,
it is only when you change the top it is visible..

My first impressions was that it was a black glove masking, but i'm confident it was a mapping error of some kind,

45  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Strange Mark on the thumb on: June 14, 2015, 01:26:38 pm
I recently downloaded Adult female jeans which were custom made.
However it seems there is some kind of glitch depending on the sleeveless top you wear.

one of my friends assumes it's a UV mapping problem, and i have no idea how to fix it.
the marking on the thumb is pure black.

I tried getting hold of the CC creator but the creator is long dead. lol (Looks like i was late to the party in thanking the creator)

If anyone can fix it i would be very grateful.
