1  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Buzz / Pudding request? on: June 09, 2009, 02:16:58 pm
Are sharing and requesting of puddings allowed or are they forbidden candy because of the cc policy? If so, please remove topic.

~*~

I've been unsuccessfully trying to cook up a specific face with the new CAS. Not that I was ever good with the old one. I am just not that good at copying nature's beautiful work. Or that of better face designers *g*. But I know there are way more talented simmers out there, so I ask of you, if any of you would like to cook a witcher pudding for me.

Beside the point that there's a lot of cc missing, that would be neccessary to perfect him, I'd be happy about a nice approximation of Geralt of Rivia (probably no stranger to most gamers). I find it especially difficult to model his distinctive nose and striking features without unbalancing the whole face. There is no slider to alter the shape of the forehead and I don't know how to compensate properly with the face profile slider. And, well, pretty much all the other features give me headaches, too. And yes, I have the slider enhancement mod, so it would be good to use that.

So, will anybody help me? I offer a pretty fantasy guy or gal in return. Smiley

I have some pics about how far I've come yet, but they're rubbish. I could provide my feeble try for a base, but it'd probably be better to start from scratch anyway.
2  Simmers' Paradise / FreeTime Help / Where are my neighborhoods in Free Time? on: July 11, 2008, 05:07:38 am
I hope this issue hasn't been adressed a hundred times before, my search didn't turn up anything.

My complete hoods are in the data directory (the other custom content including insimenator 2.8 works fine), but they just don't show up in game. Do I need to modify some config file?

And while I'm here... is it a known bug that a sim gets in a cab, after the cab drove away, sitting in thin air and then riding away (in thin air) and never arriving at or coming back from the secret lot? That happend to me last night, I just ended the game without saving, but it was a test sim in a test hood anyway, so no big deal for now.
3  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Extracting objects on: November 24, 2007, 03:53:58 pm
I know there are lots of tutorials on the how, but before I go and immerse myself in them, I wanted to ask if it is at all possible to extract objects from one EP I own and use them in a game without that EP installed? For personal use only, of course. And is it very time consuming per object?

I'd like to have a number of objects fom BV, but the EP is so annoying as a whole and is slowing everything down, it's unbelievable! I am aware that objects with certain functionality like the voodoo doll or the wishing thingie won't be easily "copied", but I mostly like the tropical and asian plants.
I am also aware that I'll have to wait for the new SimPe, but it doesn't hurt to know now and help me decide if I'll keep BV a while longer or not.
4  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Sims disconnect my internet on: October 07, 2007, 12:25:30 pm
Since Seasons my pc goes offline when I start the game (by default I am online the moment I turn on the pc). So I can't do anything in the background like downloading or looking something up when a problem with the game comes up.

I tried to search for the problem cos I doubt that I'm the only one experiencing this, but I couldn't find anything about this annoyance. Or I am too stupid to use the search.
Is this a known problem and is there a solution for it?
5  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Where are my packaged lots? on: March 24, 2007, 07:57:16 am
I know, they are in the PackagedLots folder. Smiley
The problem I'm having is to bring them back into the game. I install the Sims2Pack file, but I never find the lots I packaged myself in the houses bin. I use clean installer.

I am wondering where the files of the Sims2Pack folder go, anyway. They don't go into the downloads folder, from the teleport folder the stuff just seems to dissapear into thin air (even with downloaded lots that install just fine).

So I keep installing as follows: first I select the lot file only, which goes to teleport and then... poof! But at least it's in game (downloaded lot), even when I never get to organize it.

Then I select everything else I want to install, unpack it to a temporary folder with .package extension because I don't want to have the stuff all over the place or just vanish (and being in game nevertheless, just invisible to my eyes). Then I go into that folder and change the file names which now end in .package.package (cos there's no option to NOT put an additional extension to it). Then I put the files in the correct folders. I mean, what else are my over 100 folders for than for keeping some kind of order?

I guess, as long as I don't understand aforementioned mysteries, I'll never understand where my self packed lots go when I install them, either. Soooo, anyone care to enlighten me a little bit?
