There is a Medievil Challange going on at MtS at the moment, with a few items for all ages, including a shirt and boots for the males and the leggings too.

also, I'm not sure which set it is from at the store, but there is a long duster coat and a sort of mage ish (in my game at least, once i recollor it) that might manage it. i think the non duster might be form the fairy living set.

MTS have just started a new Medievil Chalange thing, and they have allready got a new wench dress up there.
Also some furniture too, and for the sims3, not sims 2

Well, I'm no mesher or maker, but I think you might be able to get some items from All About Style.
They have a section for Period Clothing and have some plain long skirts and simple shoes that are rather victorian.
While that may not be exactly what you are looking for, it might be modifiable, since they have some that are plain and streight.
I also think I saw a young adult and teen skirt at MTS that had an optional apron.

(here's hoping she does'nt mind rubing fur covered shoulders with aliens, freaks and all round wierd sims...hm...i wonder if any of THEM have fur.....? *expects Cruella to have at least a new handbag by the end of the week at his 'hood* hehe)

(gota ask though, is there a mod or no auto mod you already done, that stops the todlers being always held in the arms of a grown up or teen? i had a family that was a comune and had 3 todlers. the poor things spent 80% of their time being held by the moron grown-ups, who should have put them down, but never did. said growns ups ignored their own stinkyness, hunger and bathroom needs to simply stand there like a spare part with the todler in their arms...in the end, i had to age up my todlers to kids to deal with it)

well, so far, i havent managed to get a playable withc, but i decided i wanted some homes for them, should i manage to get one.

but its no good slapping a good witch into a home more fitting for a wicked one, so i made three homes for them to choose from.

(ok, im gona warn you now, this lot needs all eps and all but the ikea stuff packs to run. i did not make this with my basegame machine, so there is gona be custom content)

so..
we have the GoodWitch home, the Neutral home and the WickedWitch home.
basically they are identical lots, with some recoloring and tweaking here and there.
the layout is exactly the same in all three, with recolorings here and there for all three.

good and neutral changed only in the fact that i swapped the items round in their recolors.
wicked, however, i changed their windows, added some creapy alien flowers to the garden outside and a sumoning circle thats covered with an awning and has candles.i also changed which curtains i used, which bed and side tables too.

(for the cusom content, its mainly parsimonious.org and you need to get their gypsy stuff from the woodcutters kitchen, the gypsy style build and the pirate bay build set too *for the wickedwitches windows and doors*...also used was parsims apponimous plants colection and thier alien recolor / other plants....some place anywhere candles from Mod the Sims2 as well and some tatty shingles i grabbed from Club Crimsyn * thats http://www.clubcrimsyn.com * which you can find in their sets section that they keep their sets that are also available at TSR)

there is also a pond to fish in and a set of 4 growing patches (with placed sprinkler to save your sims watering)
a couple of benches made from fallen logs to sit and watch the garden and stuff too

the reason the wickedwitches lot has a few more items is that my wicked sims need more clutter and items to remind them they are bad they like to show off that they are leaning to the dark side hehe.

With Appartments just round the corner, i wanted to make a few appartments that you could use in the city or maybe in downtown
(im not sure yet as to whether they are making us use yet another hood, or that we can make appartments anywhere, which i would prefer)

With that note out of the way, a little info.

the lot is a shrunken lot, made to look like a row house (that means that there are extra wall parts at the very edge of the lot, so when placed next to other fake row houses / lots, they merge the walls together seamlessly like a proper row of houses. however, each one is actually seperate.

the cost is aprox 221,00 simoleons, but it comes fully furnished in each appartment, the style is black and white modern.
it was created using the base game only, no stuff packs, no custom content whatsoever.
feel free to change the decor if black and white isnt your sims preferances.

*i expect that if they allow us to have appartments anywhere, you will simply need to save the lot after using the re-zoneing cheat to change it from residential to appartment....i left room for the large multi-box postbox that is seen at the front of a house on the official website, and all you then have to do is swap the doors (the black ones only) and replace them with the appartment doors..i think those are the ones with a simlish number plaque on them where the hotel room door plaque is....after that, i think they will be ready to go *

there are 4 appartments per floor, with 2 main floors, one rooftop verandah garden and a recreation room you will probably want to modify (since there is very little stuff available to basegame noCC, but its the only way i can upload a clean lot since the clean-Installer stopped working for me once i installed bon-voyage *sniffle* and i dont think they are updating it.)
each appartment comes with a double bed, and two out of the 8 apprtments have a crib room so you can move in a family.
cooking, relaxing and bathing are all catered for, and there is a downstairs bathroom for the visitors.
the RecRoom up on the top floor has a bar, games setup with large screen TV, a workout area with a hot tub and seperate batroom / showers for male and female.
the rooftop garden has paining and barbeque facilites, along with a couple of trees and some rose bushes and tulips for those with green fingers to look after.
security is provided with a smoke alarm in each appartment and a burglar alarm in the main entrance.

my other is that as usual, i end up wanting more food than the creators are willing to give me.
usually they have enough american food to keep the usa players happy (hamburgers, hot-dogs and mac n cheese, anyone?) but never anything more.

i like stir fry, i like bangers and mash and also i like to have unusual foods (i downloded a lot of alien food, some of which i tried myself, the rest i saved for my friend who makes trekie sims)

so my first request is usually for custom food.
if not custom home make food, then for custom food in the food vendors.
(i have a tiny hope that with appartments they have added or remade the old Hot-Date and Unleashed food carts..i miss those, especialy the sushi cart and the burger cart...what i realy hope they add in Sims3 is a fully automated Food Service Machine..something that you can ether put into a comunity lot and it automaticaly fills up, or put onto a home-owner buisness and you can add the single meals directly...i saw the thing in a film called Dark City, and it was a big box with lots of little windows. you poped your cash into the slot and it unlocked your window and then ya took yer plate and sat down as ate )

your best bet is to stick to stuff that is base game, tbh...

if you want, you can try stuff that has nightlife as the only ep listed, though most people have more than that.

pretty much, if its a recolor pack of more than one item, take a look of the stuff. if it is sometihng you recognise from nl, dl the package and add the recols that are nl based (if you can tell which, some makers just have giberish named files) and leave the uni ones.
but if your going to mess, make a seperate folder to put them in, only add one set at a time and go to a house/lot that is empty to try placing them.
 that way, if something crashes, you know where it is to take it out.
also, if you only get crashes when you try to place the item, delete it without placing the second time (if you can)
if the game crashes without even going in, then you know that the last batch of stuff you poped in was bad, then you only have one batch to remove ^^ just remeember not to get carried away when adding to that folder. heeh

ahem, yeah, unless you only have vanilla sims2, i think your vid card is trying to tell you its time to get a replacement ^^

anything in the FX series, preferably the fx5200 and above (thats the lot, realy)^^ will do you, provided you have a VGA slot in your machine.
if your stuck with a PCI (that is, the OLD version of PCI, not the newer and usable PCI-E) slot..thats the white ones usually, then your.....well.....*hands you the chocolates and the pillow to cry in*
those are hard to get..HARD >.<

if you cant get a new card, try looking for a seccond hand Geforce4, preferably a Ti card...these beauties are fantastic, provided they work ^^
im using one right now on my internet machine, she was a second about 2 years ago, from a friend who upgraded, and its only now getting dated for my games (i like old stuff like warcraft lol)

my sims machines got a FX5200 though, and that works fine.
i dont have everything at max, but thats cause i dont like shadows ^^ and i dont need full lightining, but i do max the sims detail, terain detail and object detail.

on another note, though...sometimes your memory and prosessor can help or hinder your machine. so if a new card dosent do as well as you thought, check your chip and mem.

basically, try to get a 128meg card or higher.
my boss can still get fx5200's, but rarely in vga. he tends to get the 256meg cards now, like fx7800's

and of course, if your machine was new enough to use PCI-Express slot, you could have your pick of cards.

well i dont know about fat kids and teens, but i know theres a lot of meshes and clothing out there, and modified Loius skins that are showerproof.

theres Rengal, thats about a size 16-18ish, with the clasical renesance shape (Large backside and chest, but normal waist)
check out the mod the sims 2 midsummer nights dream section for links to skins and clothes for those.

theres also a skin called Momma Lisa. more a 20+ in womens clothes size. bigger thighs and upper arms, i think. i think i found some links here for that one.

as for fat boys, girls and males, im not sure.

id say, just for the looks you get, some of chrissy's stuff. she made some sets that finish what they started with the mountain and ricepaper mullberry windows.

you can realy make things match up with more style with those.
i always get PurplePaws bathroom sets from mod the sims 2, she has a full set for basic bathrooms, and their only recolors, so you dont have to worry about them crashing freetime
i also get Targa's minifridge now, since it makes a lot of sence for me, i love making more room with it being under the counters.

ooh, and the spiral staircases, you have no idea how much space you can save.^^
and the mini lots that marylou and co made. 1x1 thru 1x5 lots in comercial and residential....they can be a blessing for people trying to keep a sim homed without using the cash cheats

have you tried the trick where you copy the disks into your hard drive and install from there?

i hear that was doable back when they first made sims2 and the dvd edition.
you had to make a new folder and (if it was the cd edition) a folder for each disk. i think this was detailed at the main sims2 website, but you might find it here in the help section too

other thing you could check is that your drive isnt on the way out. if the lazer is dying, it might also give you errors.

other than that...not sure.
