I fear the coldness of static text can sometimes lose the feeling expressed, I am ever so nice, and was not trying to 'snark' at anyone... Just trying to help...

Nequam: Well, admittedly, it hasn't been updated since BV I believe (maybe even before then) but I still haven't run into any instances where the DDO would delete random things without notice. Definitely not ruling out the possibility, but just saying I haven't run across that bug.
I use it all the time and it doesn't delete anything. Hmmm? Well it would be odd of me to post for no reason other than to post malicious lies, so I'll say use at your own peril. The 'orphan' hunting is what I was referring to, though if you have been spared from any ills I commend you on your good fortune, I myself have not been...

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Writtin'

Wow! I used to live in the 'help' thread, its been a while... So, my sims always wish to write a novel? and yet nothing ever happens? I had assumed sitting at the 'puter for hours getting nothing done was a poor joke, now I'm hearing tales that this is not how it's supposed to work? So can you 'finish' a novel like a painting?

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Hi, me again...

No commands affect them, I did get the patch, ran her as soon as I got the game.
As to the 'official' help from EAxis, well lets say I have had better luck with the fine people in the community.

I have just gotten pets (yes I'm behind the curve.) and my pets keep getting stuck half in floors, even the side walk! No interactions affect them and their motives just whittle away. I have to use moveObjects to pluck em' free.
Any advice?

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / I've seen the light!

Just for shits and giggles last night I was playing in my graphics options screen, having never even looked at them before. Now it’s like a whole new game!
I have recolors that I had thought just sucked, are now beautiful, and the skins; a small thing I had taken for granted is now a showcase to the skills of the artist. My collection of custom clothes has become a harsh example of natural selection.
OK, why is this glowing endorsement in the help section? Well…she still runs, and my issues with my new found beauty are slight. Some general slowdown in camera movement, a small lag on occasion when an animation begins, nothing major, and is playable, albeit annoying. The coming and going of cars is rather bad, and I’d say the worst of my new found troubles. With four Sims, and two pets, all with jobs/school my lot has a significant amount of traffic.
Me no smrt on ‘puters; my talents lie elsewhere. I have only the vaguest idea what a video card is, having never played a video game before I did not inquire as to its quality when purchasing my shiny new laptop; she’s a Dell inspiron 1526 if that knowledge is needed to offer help. The small stutters I am experiencing don’t seem insurmountable, though again I wouldn’t know where to begin… What in particular on a lot takes more processing than others? How much does wall count and/or sheer mass of items degrade performance? Some of the options in the graphics menu are vague (at least to me) how about definitions and/or comparative usefulness. eg; Does a small thing like UI transparency really affect system lag?
Any thoughts, pointers, general advice would be welcome.
Having seen the lands beyond normal resolution I cannot go back!!!
