1  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Question about children's hair on: March 08, 2008, 04:47:10 pm
Yeah I know how to change it with the mirror. Frankly, I find it kind of annoying.  I like seeing which parent the kids favor.  It just seemed strange that for ages my Sim kids were assigned the hairstyle of their parent to suddenly having random hairstyles.
2  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Question about children's hair on: March 08, 2008, 03:27:22 am
Is may be a really stupid question.  So I'm going to lie and say I'm asking for a friend who was curious.  LOL

Lately when my Sims have kids the children no longer get the hair of one of their parents.  My male Sim has a Maxis made hair and my female has a Maxis hair that I recolored.  Used to, the girls always had her hair and the boys would all get that super short curly Maxis male hair.  Now it seems they get all kinds of random hair, mostly seems to be custom content hair usually in the same hair tone as the parents but occasionally a different color than either parent.

Okay now for the question.
Did something in the game change?  Or do I have a mod that randomly selects hair that I've forgotten that I've downloaded?  I don't even know if anything like that exists.
3  Simmers' Paradise / FreeTime Help / Freetime Help on: March 03, 2008, 04:51:12 am
I had the Securom problem too in which the game would never load.  I downloaded a no cd thingie.  But found that had problems as well.  So just by chance, I found that if I open My Computer and click on the CD drive that has my BV (and now my FT) disk in it then immediately go to start the game from the start up button at the bottom of my computer screen by clicking on EA Games then clicking on the icon for Free Time.  That brings up that Start button that we must now deal with.  So then I click on that.  And sure enough my game starts up.  Weird.

Yeah I don't think it did.  I downloaded the patch a day or so before I got FT.  But it was on one computer and the game on the other.  So I forgot to move it to the other computer and kind of forgot about it until I was happily playing my freshly installed Freetime.  Then remembered the patch.  I clicked on the patch and it gave me the you have a newer expansion pack installed lecture and not the it's already up to date notice.  So I guess I have to unistall and reinstall to get rid of some of those dang BV issues.
5  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / What is the most surprising thing that your Sims have ever done? on: February 26, 2008, 02:40:38 am
My favorite Sim today as she was walking around the house (rather than the straight unobstructed path from the back door to the front door mind you) suddenly as she is walking along, raises her arm straight up like she is wanting to answer a question.  And sniffs her own armpit.  I don't remember her astrology sign but I know she has high neatness.  I swear some times Sims can be so gross or so stupid.  And in this case my Sim happened to choose to be both.
6  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Buzz / What would you like to see In Sims3 on: February 24, 2008, 05:13:55 am
I don't want to go to work or school with my Sims.  Why do I want to see my business Sim sitting for 8 hours filling out paperwork?

While I think the different heights is a great idea they'd have to really work on how to have two Sims of different heights interact.  Different heighted Sims may end up kissing the other's neck or reaching to shake hands that don't quite  meet.

I'd love to see better hair for men.

Assuming we will wind up with lots of custom content that was never meant to be (fairy ears in the glasses category)  I'd love for this stuff to be geneticly linked.  I mean if I had a Sim who had to wear glasses, it would make sense that their kid might need glasses too.  So I'd love to see a bit of genetic link on things like this.

I love making fantasy Sims.  So I love the elf earred face mesh.  But what good are elf ears if 99% of the hairstyles hide the ears?Huh?  That is why I want accessories genetic linked so if I have elf ears on my Sim and they have a child they will have elf ears too without me having  to decide which of the half elf/half human children will get their mother's ears or not.

And I want randomly assigned aspirations and attraction points.  I have realized that most of my Sims have what I find attractive as their turn ons and turn offs.  Gets kind of boring really when all my Sims are kind of the same. I should say this should be a turn on or off feature so people who like a whole city of romance Sims can play their game the way they want.

I have noticed that townie sims are more apt to be sporting my custom content eyes and hair.  But not skintones.  I'd like to see the game randomly pop out a mutant.

And since Sims can change into work uniforms when they leave for work or change into winter clothes when they go outside, how about letting us select vacation clothes or date clothes that they change into?  Or randomly changing their outfit to other clothes in their wardrobe so our Sims don't wear the same thing all the time unless we make them change?
7  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / What is the most surprising thing that your Sims have ever done? on: February 24, 2008, 03:55:01 am
I had made a self sim of me as well as sims of people I know. One of whom is a guy I tend to have a fiery relationship with.  Okay.  We fight like cats and dogs.  I made his sim just like him personality wise and mine just like me.  And in the game my sim and his sim QUICKLY fell in love.  Which bugged the hell out of me for some reason.  One night when I was playing, now mind you I usally work on have them not interact because of their romance for each other, they both wanted to slow dance.  I thought what the heck.  My sim had sucky dance skills so I thought she'd step on his feet and get him mad.  He took her hand and TWIRLED her all romanctically before taking her in his arms to dance.  I've never seen Sims twirl their dance partners.  Not before and not since!

And I used to have a couple who autonomously woohooed to celebrate events like a child growing up to the next age stage.  So needless to say because of their "celebrating" they wound up with LOTS of reasons to celebrate.  By the time they passed away, they had parented 38 children.
8  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / 2 Issues-Both making me nuts! on: December 04, 2007, 06:43:48 pm
I am having the same problem too.  My game won't load at all.  I'm getting real frustrated.
9  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / BV wont run & additional problems........! on: December 04, 2007, 04:51:39 am
Nope.  All I want is to be able to access my houses and my Sims so I can package them and start all over.  I'm so frustrated now.  I even uninstalled my disk burning software hoping that anti theft software would know I have no intentions of stealing this seemingly crappy edition to the Sims family.
10  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / BV wont run & additional problems........! on: December 04, 2007, 01:39:25 am
Drat.  I was hoping there was other cache files you were referring to.  I've tried deleting them.  I've tried closing all running programs that can be closed.  I've tried playing without my downloads.  When I install the game, it runs one time.  Then after that, nothing.  The disk whirrs to life.  I can even see the program listed in the running programs.  But it never loads.
11  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / BV wont run & additional problems........! on: December 02, 2007, 10:35:30 pm
Clear out cache files?  How do you do this or what files do I delete?  I installed BV, ran it, worked great.  Then closed it and from that one first time playing it, it will not load.  The disk whirls to life in the drive, but that is all.  What do I need to do?
12  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Need help restoring my Sims on: November 28, 2007, 02:41:19 pm
I have decided to start fresh.  I uninstalled everything and reinstalled the games.  Now I am having a problem getting my handful of Sims and the houses that I wanted to keep to show up.  I can get them to show up but then I have no NPCs.  I wanted to keep my own custom Sims and have fresh NPCs and townies and such.  And the houses I have downloaded will show up in the city, but they are no longer in my lot bin.

Or some times in my efforts to restore my stuff  my game simply never loads.  I have all the the packs, including Bon Voyage and Teen Stuff.

So I need help.  Lots and lots of help.

I wish I still had the bodyshop templates of the Sims I wanted to keep.  But some of mine that I wanted to keep were born in the game.

Is there a way to change a Sim's file (like with Simpe or some other program) so that they would appear in Bodyshop?

Thanks in advance for any help or advice!
